pleased to announce that the scream has stopped, not entirely sure what was the cause but after ripping the entire exhaust off and putting it back on the scream has stopped, my best guess is that the turbo->dump gasket was leaking, as the top two bolts were considerable looser/easier to undo then the other 4 thanks for all the ideas/help Dan

my comment was based on that its a full time drag car, and that i dont think there would be many full time RB30 drag cars running a 30/40, especially one considering sticking it half way out the bonnet now im not that nolegable on these turbos and what times they would get u in, but i would assume any one building a drag specific car would be atleast aiming for a 10. not starting an arguement, just justifying my comment, which in hindsight wasnt based on much knowledge, just an opinion

as the mafia said, a 3040 is not a drag turbo, gt40 to4z t51 would look the good hanging out the top

nah its not sluggish at all, still boosts fine and everything, just trying to avoid taking to a work shop

ok so coated intake side with carby cleaner and couldnt see anything out of the ordinary, pulled dump and front pipes off to have a good look at exhaust wheel, all is there and looks in good and no shaft play from that side either however could this noise be coming from a leaking exhaust gasket, as i can see a little bit of oil leaking out of the bottom of it, also best tool for bashing a cat??

i havent even thought about looking intake side, perhaps ill have a look at an intake leak first with dome carby cleaner, i hope thats it

checked all the cooler pipes and vac lines, still noisy looks like ill be pulling dump off to inspect the turbine wheel tomorrow. hoping for the best, expecting the worst this will really put a dent in my 26 projecy

looks the good mate, got a few questions tho is ur mate interested in making more of a different design, spex would be supplied is it baffled r u running a drain back to sump is there any reason its on the passenger side, most cars run in on drivers side (something to do with the crank pressure helping it drain back) cheers dan

well those replies are very positive i just had the intake pipe off and felt for shaft play, there seems to be none at all up down left right, but a little bit front and back but it wouldnt be more the a mm or so i reckon, i also had a small magnet in there but couldnt get it stick to the front wheel although it did look like a steal wheel, but arent they a nylon wheel on the s2 r33??

hey ppl think my turbo is on its way out was driving fine and then next time i put my foot down it screemed, am i right in presuming the bearing is just about to give up on me, i have reved the engine to 6k without getting on boost and there is no noise then put my foot down started to boost fine then started screeming at about 4k might have been a touch earlier. its done about 3 years at 12 pound since ive had it, with the odd burst at 1 bar. so done ok i spose

got no photos, and wouldnt have a clue how to put them on this site, but yes i used on of the standard intercooler holes and made it larger, using black piping u cant even see it is there, very very simple thing todo

dont have a box for my pod, but i bought some supercheap auto bendy pipe 3" and a cheap as afm adaptor and put the bendy pipe from under the pod to under my foglight, also about $10 used the afm adaptor to bolt into my engine bay and connect the pipe to it, and just a small screw into my bumper wasnt sure how effective it was going to be but just cleaned my pod and it was visibly dirtier from the underside inline with the pipe i installed however that product dose look preety kewl

who did u get the kit off, when i got my kit it had sandwhich plate relocator and lines, as ur set up is different im not sure about ur turbo feed, but my locater came with two ports i presume for pressure and temp. u could prolly use one of those for ur feed also i run block filter cooler block, on the up side if u do run the feed off the relocator u will have super clean oil going to ur turbo, but it wont be cooled,

i hope u keep the plates so that twoogle can live on in a new chapter, and i hope u get a 8.99 im sure u will still be on here throwing ur imput around, good luck Dan

those rims in 19s will look pimp on this thing, airbags on the cards rather then coilovers??

its hard to tell about the front tensioner location cos its hidden behind the timing belt cover, but no not all VL motors are series 2 i think 87 on are, but R31 motors are im fairly sure, u will have to look on the exhaust side for the bungs in the block, the oil return drain is a half inch drive plug, and the other two feeds are just blocked off by little bolt/plugs, but yes ur description of the two are correct, Bubba will im sure provide more info

the best ur budget can buy, i have used CP pistob Spool rods Tomie gasket, and head parts Nissan Nitto oil pump Apexi valve springs Ferrea valves

no 100% but to hazard a guess it looks like a/m swtches, proberly attached to nothing any more, my GTST had a couple in odd places on further inspection, they werent even connected
