  1. yes mine spends all day every day out in the elements i used to have schmicko paint work now my bonnet has little or no clear left all peeling off.. what ya gonna do i no shannons wont insure unless its in a garage maybe by a portable tent thing.. put that up

  3. i hate reading this kind of stuff.. always seems to be something else that can go wrong.. i have got new stud and bolt for my build. it would be just my luck for something like this to happen.
  4. hahah agreed^^ id go for a spool package.. cps spool rods acl mains and big ends and HG comes in a package and then N1 pump and a standard head re build get a crank collar arp heads tomei restrictor standard or n1 water pump and then the appropriate block work trust sump extension maybe and maybe some GTss or 2530 or equivelent Dan
  5. man drifting on a corner like that is pretty pointless. its nothing really like drifting on a track... all it proves is that u can put ur foot down hard half way thru a corner and then straighten.. i once thought i was cool by doing such behaviour
  6. u can use all sorts of plates for sandwiches. i picked some up from red dot for $2 the other day very colour ful designs and at what i thought was a reasonable price.. if u would like something fancier try myer or david jones
  7. standard kit. (not fussed) standard wheels (want to change) RB25 (26 in pieces in garage) by my 25?? any takers paint bubbling on wing (will fix eventually) clear coat rapidly vanishing on bonnet ( CF replacent one day) small dent near fuel flap (as a result of a badly aimed knee: yes my knee) cracked lip (will replace) standard suspension (replace after motor is in) all in all not really upset with anything about my car..
  8. yeh but now u need to cut off the part where the nuber plate was coz it looks uglier then it did when the plate was in the middle.. i did but i removed the hole bumper as the cooler was in the way... make it look way better in my opinion
  9. i bought two little L brackets for mine.. also never had an issue with police and been pulled over a couple of time and never had a speeding fine either..
  10. yeh my 32 gtr bolt took several blasts with the rattle gun to get it off.. almost gave up on it
  11. try looking at the solenoid desplay... if u need help tuning it i have got mine nailed so pm me

DAZMO: thanks for the hints with regard to some of my Qs, i personally have no experiance i have a guy who has built a few 26s that i can fall back onto an a mate thats built v8, the main reason im asking these "basic" questions is that i wants to learn and u learn by asking. the more info i can get the more confident i become in nowing that when it does all go together it will stay together. as for the rings they are all being checked for the correct clearence as for the valve springs i just want to get new springs in when i get the head rebuilt and change cames later on.. i wouldnt be putting a better spring in if was planning on leaving stock cams GTRNUR: yes i had the main studs in for line bore and have since spoken to machine shop as well and checked torques specs with them. thanks for the info
  13. nah i have mechs who have built lots a bottom end to help. just not a 26 and its just the info that i havent been supplied with that i need. as much as i would luv u to put it together for me.. and a flight here and back would prolly be the cheapest labour around

  15. hey all about to assemble my bottom end and just a few things to query before i do. Cleaning: what is the best way to clean ur block and parts before assmebly. 1, kero 2, soapy water 3, apply wd40 or similar asap the brass coolant fittings what can u clean them in to get some of the corrosion off acid? steel brush? replace? ARP main studs: my mains came with 3 longer bolts. where do these three go. they have been put in by the machinist 2 at the back and on in the middle. is this correct?? also at what tourque and in what pattern do i do them up. Valve springs: can u run a valve spring designed for a larger lift cam on standard cams. such as a spring to suit a step 2 cam Rings ive read alot lately about ppl putting in there rings upside down. does this just mean in the rong order or actually upside down.. i just had a desent look and there is nothing to indicate an up or down.. unless its just the way they come in the packet.. CP for the record. whilst on rings where do u locate the gaps obviously not all in a line hehe. does any one have any pre build good luck rituals that i can borrow all help greatly appreciated thanks dan
