Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build
JustinP replied to Hanaldo's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Glad to hear its back on the road and running! Sounds like there could be some more left in it with some further tweaks, but probably best to just enjoy it for a while for now How did you find Garage 101 overall? Hopefully not too much longer until I can speak to them about tuning my car. -
My view for "running in" bearings, 0km.

Just Bought A 33 V-Spec......questions

The less common "D-Jetro" model uses a MAP sensor rather than a MAF sensor. You have the more common L-Jetro version. -
Need Help! How The Hellll Do I Remove An Rb25 Neo Head?!
JustinP replied to nathanhill's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Two small 10mm bolts at the back corners of the head, and one small 10mm bolt at the front left corner of the head. They can be hard to see. -
I would imagine a Nissan R43 with a GTRE turbo would fetch quite a penny!

Gt3076R Leaking From Exhaust Housing !
JustinP replied to Bratva's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That looks like the exact fittings I got with my turbo kit which I bought from Kudo's (however they sourced it from CGC as it has their badge thing on it) I didn't like the way they looked and ended up buying another oil and water line kit which uses normal banjo bolts with copper washers which I prefer. -

Some good news I'm very keen to hear how you go with Garage 101. -

Well I FINALLY got around to reading the whole build thread start to finish. Pretty epic journey you have been on! It looks like it has all been worth it though. Your engine bay looks awesome! I'm going to get the toothbrush out this weekend and get started on my engine bay haha. Not looking forward to that part of the job. I just need to do that and then get the gearbox fill and drain plugs out (some idiot has cemented them in there), then I will be ready to put the engine back into the car. I might also gather up some of the pics I have taken and put together my own build thread if I get time on the weekend. When are you taking it back to get tuned? -
I don't think so, his last message indicated he was keen to do business again, so I think all is good. I did notice all those feedback messages on eBay though where he states, straightaway, any issue (even if he is apparently to blame), BLOCKED! No soup for you haha. That's why I was worried about things initially. Oh well, all sorted now.

An update to my pretty minor but annoying saga regarding a missing oil line and complete lack of communication from Eiji - after some negative feedback he finally got in contact and we have finally resolved things (and I removed the negative feedback). I now have the missing oil line and things are all good
-
When new, they come covered in a fine coating of a grease / oil to prevent corrosion. You should always wash them thoroughly before installing them.

R34 Gtt Injector Question, Query After Install.
JustinP replied to msports180's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sorry I just read you original post properly - I could twist mine with a bit of force (they were tight in all other dimensions of movement though). Maybe you will be ok Did you use lots of grease or oil when installing them into the head? -
R34 Gtt Injector Question, Query After Install.
JustinP replied to msports180's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I installed some Deatschwerks injectors into my GTT recently, they were very tight with the supplied o-rings. Sounds like you might have an issue. -
Well I wont be getting the oil line that was left out of my order (which seems to be a common occurrence after doing some research). Not a single reply from "Eiji" after weeks of emails and waiting. Finally I lodged a PayPal dispute and kando_dynamics responded within minutes to PayPal as it was awarded in my favour, however kando_dynamics requested I sent everything back to them before I get the refund (at my expense). They obviously know that its not worth my while given the low cost of the kit! Stitched right up. Luckily I'm only out of pocket a small amount as I just need to source another oil line, but it is pretty dodgy behaviour.

Or something completely different... Electric water pump
-
Has anyone else had issues getting a response from Eiji (not sure this guy is really Japanese!) when there are problems? I ordered a turbo water and oil line kit from this guy and the oil line was missing. I have emailed him several times but he will not respond. I have been waiting about a week and a half now. Looking through his feedback it seems to be a common trend.

Ross Metal Jacket Harmonic Balancers For Rb25Det Neo's
JustinP replied to JustinP's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for checking kitto. I finally got in touch with Ross. He has assured me it should all work well, so I will give it a go. Also the idea of the under driven pulleys has grown on me. I will make it work one way or another -
Calling Rb25 Owners. Hypertune Plenum Eoi.
JustinP replied to stiddy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I love the look of these plenum's. Tempting... Will they be doing a kit to specifically suit RB25DET Neo's, or will they require the usual messing around to get them to suit? -
Ross Metal Jacket Harmonic Balancers For Rb25Det Neo's
JustinP replied to JustinP's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I did order the standard, non under driven one, which was supposedly part number #306204. Seeing as your's actually has RB25 Neo printed on it, do you remember if the part number printed on it #306504? Cheers Justin -
Ross Metal Jacket Harmonic Balancers For Rb25Det Neo's
JustinP replied to JustinP's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks Kitto - your info is much appreciated!!! I will speak to Ross next week, hopefully I can get some clearer info and get this sorted out. And yep I noticed the printed on RB26 torque setting for the main bolt too, which worried me further! In regards to the under driven pulleys, I'm not worried about steering effort at idle but I am a little worried about the alternator. I won't be running a mechanical water pump, but the extra load from the electric water pump, thermo fans, WMI etc is a bit of a worry. -
Ross Metal Jacket Harmonic Balancers For Rb25Det Neo's
JustinP replied to JustinP's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh and one more thing, I weighed both balancers and the OEM one is lighter! OEM - 4603 grams Ross - 4818 grams Seems strange? -
Has anyone used a Ross Metal Jacket harmonic balancer for a Neo yet? I contacted Ross a while ago and he said they had a new part to suit the Neo (#306204) which is not yet listed on their website. I ordered one but the box I recevied said part number #306517 on it (Neo with 10% under driven alternator and 7% under driven power steer). However when I opened the box the part number on the balancer is #306200 (RB20DET) and is missing 3 of the 6 bolts. I rang them last week (Ross has been away for a while) and they didn't seem to think that they did any parts for the Neo. Then they worked out that they did do a Neo part, but they only did an under driven model for the Neo, and that it is made out of parts of other balancers (i.e. RB20DET, hence the wrong part number printed on it). They said that one was normal to be missing the 3 bolts. They seemed pretty confused and unsure about what they were saying. If anyone is familiar with Ross balancers for Neo engines could they please have a look at the pictures and let me know what they think? I have the OEM and Ross balancers side by side for comparison. I have also attached a picture from the Ross website of the R33 RB25DET for comparison too, it looks completely different again. I will call Ross next week and I'm sure I will get it all sorted out, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone else has used these before for a Neo. Also one more question, have people had problems with under driven pulley's before on cars that are used for a mix of street and racing duties? Cheers Justin
