  1. Why do people replace that stud when replacing the idler bearing? I was going to replace it both when I did my timing belt and then when I rebuilt the whole engine shortly after that (typical!), but didn't as I thought there is no way that would snap. Has anyone ever heard of anyone either snapping or bending that stud?
  2. Seems a lot simpler than what the OP had to do!
  3. Ouch You are not having much luck with it. The fact that the broken bit was in the boot... I think that explains it all.
  4. That's what the blue gasket is for which is provided when you buy them new.
  5. Cheers - look forward to seeing the results!
  6. Yep its the A-LSD computer. And in R34's thats where the traction control computer goes.
  7. Hey Hanaldo, you ended up going with the threaded Haltech IAT sensor for your Link G4 yes? How did it go with the tuning? I might get one aswell and get rid of my Bosch open element sensor, I can't see an easy way to plumb it into the intake
  8. I wish my engine had balconies on it.
  9. Damn it! I must have been one of the last people to order them when they were still a custom item (and much more expensive!)
  10. Along with a 4 story high turbo!!!
  11. I think the misconception here comes from the fact that the commonly used "off the shelf" pistons that CP sells for the RB25DET (which are not suitable for use in Neo's) are 8.5:1 rather the the OEM 9:1. When you buy CP pistons for a Neo they are a custom non stocked item and they simply copy the exact Neo OEM piston, so the standard offering is still 9:1 unless you want further customization.
  12. Thinking something's funny - that's a ban'in.
  13. Sounds good! I wish I had gone a bit higher on my build (9:1) as I will be using WMI with some safely measures just in case there is a failure of the system. You could go really crazy and try and implement a DIY direct injection system to assist! Copy the BMW N54/55 design ) Would love to see that one day on an RB.
  14. Build continues... Slowly.

  15. If only my car was ready I would be in on that!
  16. What was it?! The suspense is killing me!
  17. Maybe he thinks "step 1" sounds better than "type a"? At least he's not after "stage 1" cams!!!
  18. Are you retarded?
  19. Hmmm is he still running twins? Maybe it's the the 3 + 3 exhaust manifolds then.
  20. I just like the idea of the ITB's because I'm sure they are what gives the RB26 it's unique sound which I love. I will revise my idea of the ultimate RB - Neo head, adapted RB26 ITB's / plenum AND an RB30 bottom end
  21. A Neo engine with an adapted RB26 ITB's and plenum is my idea of the ultimate RB
  22. The idea of adding 5-10% nitromethane has me intrigued! Would be cheap enough to do at $75 for 4 liters as you would use bugger all. And how cool would it be running nitromethane (even though the amount is tiny)! Has anyone here done it before? I understand when nitromethane combusts that one of the outputs is nitric acid, would this damage the bores over time? Would be interested to see if it provided any additional gains in power. I might give it a go in my car when I get it all going.
  23. I'm sure there would be a gain, but it would probably be close to negligible. Would be great for someone to give it a go though!
  24. Dont buy an S15 over an R33! Sure they are good cars and the SR20 is a good motor, but how could you ever choose a farty 4 cylinder over a smooth and awesome sounding straight 6?!?! The inline six is the whole reason I love Skylines (along with BMW's). The R33 is my least favourite looking Skyline out of the R32/33/34, but I still do like the look of them, and they can look really tough if done right. The "fattness" of them can be an asset with some nice fat rims and lowered to the right level. Series 2/3 front ends look heaps better too so grab one of those if you can. Or spend a few more $$$ and get an R34!
