  1. Nope but good luck. Hopefully you will have been worrying about nothing and it will all be gone with the next oil change. I'm going to rip my oil filter apart after the first oil change when I get my engine all put together and see what's in mine.
  2. I would love one of these for my Neo.
  3. Yep get a WMI setup, more boost, and retune
  4. I reckon it's a leak between the turbo exhaust side and the dump pipe. Or a leak between the exhaust manifold and the head.
  5. Did you thoroughly wash your block and crank before assembly?
  6. Why wasn't assembly lube used in the bearings?
  7. Yes good idea I would like to see pics of the head where the 5 x oil drains between the cylinders are, as well as the two big rear oil drains. I have asked my head builder to drill those 5 x oil returns out to 9.5mm and I want to make sure I have described it to him properly. I decided to do this after I sent it off and I can't remember what it all looks like on the head side!
  8. The head is fully stripped down, but the head builder is doing it all. I haven't even seen it since I sent it off. He has said everything is in perfect condition though, except for 2 valves which had some water sitting behind them for a while. There was some corrosion / pitting on them and they will be replaced. I haven't measured the restrictors but I bought 2 x Tomei 1.5mm restrictors (stupidly!), they look exactly the same size as the stock ones in the block. I couldn't find wire of the right size to compare the two though. Drill bit is a good idea, will try that tomorrow.
  9. My Neo doesn't have a restrictor in the VCT feed either, I have it appart at the moment.
  10. Hmmm hope I will be OK! I am putting in the Type B Poncams and uprated valve springs at the moment.
  11. I am going to drill out the 5 x oil return galleries in the block (9.5mm) and will clean up the 2 larger oil returns at the back of the block (RB25DET Neo). I don't currently have the head with me as it is currently being checked and machined etc, but I assume I am correct in thinking that the galleries in the head will need to drilled out to match. As I don't have it with me so I cant quite remember where those galleries end up in the head, but I assume you need to drill them out with the cams not installed? Trouble is it will comeback all clean and assembled, I would rather not go drilling into it
  12. I bought 2 x Tomei 1.5mm oil restrictors for my RB25DET Neo build. Yes I know best practice is to block 1 completely and run the restrictor in the other. Anyway I just went to put them in and realised the standard Nissan restrictors are already 1.5mm each. My understanding was that the standard restrictors are 2mm. Maybe they are 1.5mm on the Neo as they come standard with an N1 oil pump? Anyway I think I will get 2 x 1.2mm restrictors and run with those.
  13. Holy crap you are right. And I have just learnt how to use FAST properly! I could not get it to display the second part of the part number, now I have figured it out. Which will make it so much easier to order all the little bits and peices I need!!
  14. Makes sense! So what's the part number for the exhaust side? I guessed that 13207-D4201 is intake and 13207-5L300 is the exhaust in the Neo application, hopefully I was right.
  15. http://m.youtube.com/?rdm=4pauejlvh&reload=3#/watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dpzbn0yR2A-w%26feature%3Dyoutube_gdata_player&feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=pzbn0yR2A-w&gl=AU Sorry doesn't add much to the thread but I couldn't resist.
  16. No problems, I can live with these fittings. I know you went through hell on this group buy (and the other one too!) and I'm just glad I got such a good quality kit for a good price.
  17. Thats what I was thinking, thanks for the reply And yes, I'm going to get my ass into gear and get this thing finished!
  18. Wow, I think the GTX will make a fair bit more once you get 25 pounds into it. Wish we could get E85 here
  19. I have had everything fully balanced (RB25DET Neo) from the harmonic balancer to the clutch. The crank does not have a crank collar. If I was to get the crank machined to take a crank collar, and the collar installed, would this significantly affect the overall balancing to warrant a full rebalancing of everything? I do want it to be REALLY well balanced and smooth. My dad is a big BMW / straight 6 fan, and he is always going on about how well balanced they are from the factory. I'll show him!!!
  20. Do you do all your racing in the Antarctic? Edit: damn you edited your post
  21. I have 9.0 compression CP pistons. They can do custom jobs but they cost more as they are not off the shelf.
  22. Get a sandwich plate with a thermostat in it. That will only open up the oil cooler circuit when the oil gets to operating temperature.
  23. The German name gives it more credibility I have set of 600cc DW top feeds ready to go into mine, I'm not worried
