  1. Are you sure you even brought it from Mark? When I brought mine from him his eBay name was simark87? Mine does not have the hole either and it works very well.
  2. I got a Boss Importing one and while I am very happy with it the welding and general finish could have been a lot better. I don't think it really impedes perfomance much, but it could have looked a bit prettier. It certainly was not as nice as the ones they had pictured on there web site. I guess you will find this with many products of this type though as they would always make a perfect example for their pictures.
  3. Yer I have 2 aftermarket guages (soon to be one) at the moment I would just like the factory one to be working too. It annoys me when I see it there doing nothing
  4. Yer mine (R34 GTT) only works intermittently, very annoying. I checked that hose to the MAP sensor and its fine. Hope I don't have to rip the dash apart its the only thing wrong with the whole car.
  5. hmmm maybe I will put mine back on. Getting sick of the sucking noise. It's so loud it's not funny.
  6. You won't need a retune, and you won't be saving any fuel by putting the factory air box back in either.
  7. I have the same problem in an R34 GTT, I get about 280-330km per tank highway (and I live inner city), and about 480km max ont he highway. I replaced my o2 sensor with zero improvement. I brought a PFC which is on its way to me (mostly to hopefully improve fuel economy). I really hope the PFC helps considerably with a good tune. It seems some other people are getting 400-450km's per tank when driving around the city with their RB25DET's. I have *tried* driving off boost and more carefully which does improve consumption slightly, but the difference is not that great so I would rather just drive it to have more fun It is obvioulsy running a bit rich as the rear ends up covered in a fine layer of sooty crap, although its not as bad as many of the cars out there (ie I don't really notice black smoke pouring out the back under hard throttle). I just find it hard to beleive that a car made in 98 (and its the Neo which is supposed to be even more fuel efficient) would use so much fuel for the level of performance it puts out. When compared to some V8's with comparable power mine uses way more!
  8. Mines got no hole and it doesnt lag at all, in fact it's brilliant. Running 11.5psi.
  9. hehe good luck with it. those people selling are sneaky buggers, the one before mine (another 34 one) was starting at $1200 with a buy it now at $1300. Then mine was starting at $1350, with a buy it now at $1400 (which is what I payed). Now they are selling this R33 one, starting at $1350, with no buy it now price... Hopefully it wont go as high as $1700 for you though!
  10. Check Ebay, there was another brand new R33 one on there going for around $1400.
  11. Bite the bullet and pay what you need to in order to get one. Still will work out cheaper than many other options, especially as you are in a remote area with few tuning options. I just brought on for my R34, brand new one for $1400. A lot of money compared to six months ago, but whats a few hundred dollars in the scheme of things?
  12. I will be selling mine when my Power FC boost controller kit arrives (in a week or so), if your interested.
  13. I brought one recently and it doesn't have the little hole in it. I don't get that lag everyone is talking about, I don't have an FMIC though with long piping. It does seem to drop of boost significantly (3psi or more) at high RPM though, but I assume this is something else, not the Turbotech MBC. Anyway I've ordered the Apexi Boost controlle for the Power FC so I will give that a go.
  14. I don't know for sure, but I don't think you would do much better than Nengun on prices when in Japan. I was always suprised when in Japan how few performance cars you see on the road, and the ones you do see seem to be more often European performance cars. In Australia it seems like every 10th car you see on the roads is a Skyline / Silvia / Supra!
  15. I just decided to buy it now at $1400. Missed out on one the week before which was $1300 and I just though screw it, what is a couple of hundred dollars anyway? I would rather not miss out on one at all. They are still fairly cheap for what they are anyway.
  16. It's real easy, should only take a couple of minutes to fit. I will try and take some pics tommorrow of mine (also a R34 GTT 4 door) but basically you just plumb in the bottom of the T on the MBC to the wastegate actuator (so you unplug that from the solenoid). Then you pull apart the "Y" shaped hose adapter already in the car and you plumb the other bit of the T on the MBC onto the tube that feed the turbo presure back to the solenoid (bypassing the solenoid altogether). Then you just gotta block of the other thick host that goes back to the BOV plumback pipe (I used a bolt and a cable tie). Then you just have to adjust it. This is the point you need to be careful, minute changes to the screw changes boost a lot, and its easy to go from 8psi to 15psi by mistake (i did this for a billionth of a second hehe).
  17. You can get the same results with a 5 cent resistor. Don't bother with crap like that! Get a SAFC or similar.
  18. That 34 PFC on Ebay is currently on its way to me now Paid too much for it but I don't care, at least I was able to get one finally.
  19. If your cars hauling ass thats all that matter
  20. Damn, now thats some torque...
  21. Sounds a bit low? R34 GTT's put out about 360Nm in stock form, and I though when measuring power at the rear wheels torque figures dont really suffer from drivetrain loss? I would have thought at 222rwkw's it would have been putting out much more than that?
  22. I was just wondering, on average, what sort of torque to RB25DET's put out when modifed to around 200 or 250rwkw?
  23. OK thanks guys, I have found the info I needed in the FAQ and on the forums. One thing I could not find is wether or not you can change the unit of measurement on the Power FC boost control kit to anything other that Kg/cm2?
  24. I have a Turbotech MBC but I'm thinking of replacing it with an EBC. One thing I like about this MBC is that the wastegate actuator sees no pressure till the desired boost presure is reached which means boost comes on really quick. Does the Apexi AVC-R work in the same way or does it allow boost to start leaking through to the actuator before the full level of boost is achieved? Also if I was to get the Power FC option instead, does the hand controller allow all the same functionally as the AVC-R unit and what unit of measurement does it use for boost? Thanks!
