  1. Yep I'm pretty pissed off I didn't get one sooner. But then again, whats a few hundred bux in teh scheme of things! I just cant wait to get and get it tuned, sick of getting really realy bad fuel economy.
  2. That one was for a R33, I have a R34. Oh well I guess $1400 for a brand new one is not too bad then seeing as that 33 one was second hand. I know I probably could have gotten one cheaper if I had kept looking around but I was getting more and more paranoid about getting to the point were I would not be able to get one at all.
  3. Will never get one in there. Just bit the bullet and brought one on Ebay, but payed $1400 for it....
  4. OK I want to get a Power FC for my R34 GTT with hand controller ASAP!!! I'm willing to pay up to $1250 for a new or second hand one (in good nick) - can anyone help me? I know its a long shot but people do seem to be still getting them. I can get one for a fair bit more but i really want to limit myself to $1250 as I started out looking for a much cheaper / simpler option to begin with and things have just balooned from there. Thankyou!
  5. R34 GTT's have solid lifters just like the GTR, unlike previous RB25DET'ed cars
  6. Will look into them - thanks. Thing is if I get a complete replacement ECU I still want it to run the car well like the PFC does.
  7. Yep I saw that, it was for R33 though, I need an R34 one Think I will just order an E-Manage Ultimate from Nengun and start looking for a good tuner in Perth.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I think I might get an E-Manage Ultimate then. They are not too much more $ and can do a lot more stuff anyway. I would love to go for a full ECU solution but I can't find a PFC anywhere for a good price
  9. Clockwise to increase boost.
  10. I'm thinking of getting an Apexi Neo to improve my aweful fuel economy and due to the fact that its too hard for find a PFC and a reasonable cost. I have heard the Neo does not have a knock sensor like the old SAFCII, but I have noticed in the specs that it has a Karmann sensor readout. Will this display the level of knocking when connected to an RB25DET?
  11. Will do. I was thinking along those lines though, that anything bigger than 235 would be dogy i think. In my past experience every extra cm wide the tyres are, I have dropped the profile by 5 to compensate. Don't know if thats true but it seems to have worked So If I am going to try 235's I will go to 40 profile, down from 45.
  12. I too have an R34 and want to run wider tyres and would be interested to know if 245's are doable on the 7.5" rims. 235's will certainly fit but I would like something wider and dont want to have to buy new rims.
  13. You want to sell me you R34 PFC?
  14. I too am in this exact position, I have an R34 GTT and I need something at the very least to clean up my air/fuel ratios and have been very undecided in what to get. Here have been my thoughts: PFC: Yes it does pretty much everything, but I came along a bit too late and now are almost impossible to get and they are becoming very overpriced. Also dont like that I can't just *easily* connect up a notebook computer and play with things easily that way. It's a bit primitive in that sence If someone could offer me an R34 GTT one second hand at a good price I would still be very interested SAFC2 or Neo: These will at least solve my basic issue of AF ratios. I think they are a bit of a rip off through for what they do. At least the Neo looks pretty and would be easier for me to mount in the car. If I went down this path though it would always be in the back of my mind that it sucks not having control over ignition etc, no speed cut remover etc. Cheap to tune though. Jaycar Fuel Adjuster: Was looking into building one of these but through bugger it, would rather spend a few extra hundred dollars and get the Neo as it looks better, and people are just more familiar with them. Upside was that the cost to me seems more inline with what something like this is worth considering the pretty basic function it performs. Also was considering biulding the Jaycar EBC which would have gone well with this. Anyway this option is out the window now. EManage Blue: I would not bother with this, the extra features of the Ultimate make this unappealing. Does work with the Profec E01 though. Emanage Ultimate: I really like the idea of this except for the fact that it does not support the E-01 (only the older Blue one does) for monitoring and programming, I think this is so stupid!!! Otherwise it sounds great. For not much more money than the Apex Neo (kinda) you get something that controls all the vital things that I would like to have in addition to simple AF ratios, and even though it is still a piggyback it is pretty comprehensive. Also removes speed limiter etc, which I like the idea of. I realise the cost to tune it properly will be similar to a PFC though. I would probably attempt to wire it in myself. Would be good if you could buy adapter plugs though for each car ECU model so it would almost be plug and play beween the E-Manage harness, the ECU and the cars loom wiring - some people have told me there are adapters that can do this but have not found any concrete evidence or prices on these. So that is where I am at the moment, and I am leaning towards the E-Manage Ultimate at the moment. I just need to find a good tuner in Perth who has lots of experience with these and have a chat to them about what there thoughts are. So can anyone tell me why I definately should steer clear of the EManage Ultimate, keeping in mind I only want 200rwkws now, and maybe 250rwkw's down the track if i need to replace my turbo? Thanks
  15. Hi - I too have an R34 GTT and did this just a few weeks ago, no need to put it on the dyno. It didnt really increase the boost it was getting to (it seemed to be getting to about 8 - 8.5psi, but I think this might have been also due to the 3" cat back I already had, which you also already have). It does make it come onto boost quicker though, which is good It's a pretty good upgrade, when you see the stock dump pipe you will see why! Makes the car sound a lot better too. I used one of the Bosimporting split dump / front pipes and Catco 5" metal cats.
  16. Get a R34 GTT and spend some money on it to increase performance. RWD is more fun anyway
  17. I thought the R34 SMIC's were supposed to be good up to 200rwkw's? It was a bloody hot day though when I was testing yesterday!
  18. SR20's are good engines but they really sound crap! How can you think otherwise?! Inline sixes are the best sounding engines!!!!
  19. Would an R34 GTT with the following mods - Split dump / front pipe Metal high flow cat 3" cat back exhaust Apexi filter and running stock turbo at 11 to 12psi Decent 225 street tyres - and some good driving be able to get a 13.0 sec pass? Also would getting a GReddy E-Manage Ulimate and a good tune with the mods above push the car into the high 12's?? Ta
  20. Nope no other fluttering noises, the stock bov sounds completly normal. Other mods are split dump / front pipe, metal high flow cat, 3" cat back, apexi pod, and the turbotech MBC which from other peoples reports typically holds boost dead flat to redline.
  21. Oh I though the turbo would have been able to flow enough for that. Might have to look at getting Slide highflow at some point Thanks for the feedback.
  22. I just installed a Turbotech MBC and set it to about 11psi. It works really well and seems to hold boost rock steady until it gets to about 5k RPM then just starts to drop off suddenly (by about 3 or 4psi). Could this be the factory BOV venting the boost when it shouldn't be due a fault with the strength of the spring in it?
  23. Are you still selling these and if so what is the current cost for an all stainless one (no window) for an R34 GTT? Also what is shipping costs to Perth?
  24. Yep I think I might go for the Motul 300V, and replace every 7500km. Don't do any racing (yet), but it does get a fair workout around the streets Are plain Repco / Ryco / whatever oil filters sufficient or should I get something better? Thanks.
  25. Hi - I am about to service my R34 GT-T for the first time (about 70k on it). I was just wondering what is a very decent oil and what viscosity should I go for to best suit the RB25DET Neo? I'm not looking to spend $100 + on oil but around $60 to $70 is fine. Also Should I be using a high quality oil filter, or will a generic standard type one be fine? Thanks!
