  1. got a pair of S15 turbo's so i'm set
  2. haha, ceramic or ball bearing? Ceramic refers to the turbine wheel not the bearing type turbine wheels are usually ceramic or inconel (steel) bearings are either journal (plain) or ball bearing
  3. should have mentioned I'm after near new ones, I can get brand new for cost price so just checking if there are some good second hand ones available first
  4. Looking for a pair of bigger turbo's, prefer some disco potatoes but will consider GT28R's or anything around that size HAS to be ball bearing cores and around 300hp each turbo A pair of S15 BB turbo's would be considered as well PM me
  5. Sorry, I got my adaptor from elwesso in the US I think Mayhem may be able to hook you up with an adaptor plate
  6. easy fit with the factory sump/pickup into R33's, probably other skylines as well
  7. just to confirm pricing, the $4.5K would be including all the turbo gear as well, around $3.5k would be the dressed motor, adaptor, gearbox, loom and ECU
  8. I'm considering going a different direction with my engine conversion, details are as follows -VH45DE pulled from a Q45 halfcut myself -timing chain guides replaced with metal backed ones -all accessories were tested and working (except the air con which couldn't be tested but didn't make any bearing noise) -comes with a complete Engine loom that has been spliced into a Z32 loom to plug into the Z32 body, easy to change for a skyline body loom and i have all the pinouts and diagrams -Adaptor plate to suit the VG30DETT gearbox -VG30DETT gearbox included with a machined bellhousing so the flywheel doesn't need to be spaced Can throw in extra's like -Twin plate OS Giken clutch -davies craig electric water pump -rear pickup sump -Garrett GCG T76 turbo -Tial 46mm wastegate -turbosmart megasonic BOV -GTR cooler and a few other bit's and peices PM me if interested. I'm looking for interest around the $3.5k-$4.5k depending on whats included. I can pack it onto a crate to send interstate but it will be around $400-$600 i'd say
  9. doesn't really help me though because high airflow at high boost doesn't suit my engine. Everyone seems to be putting these on smaller engines and making a lot of power at a lot of boost, most of the holsets will choke on my engine before making the same power. I need around 10psi at the manifold to make 600hp. I don't want more power because I'm running an OS giken twin plate through a Z32 trans and R200 rear end, really not a fan of blowing drivelines Whats the biggest petrol engines you guys have seen single holsets put onto? any 1UZ's? what were the results?
  10. I've been studying these Holset turbo's for countless hours, finding compressor maps on these is so damn hard. The problem I'm having is that the engine I want a 600-700HP turbo for is my VH45, looking at many of the holset compressor maps they don't have the width at the bottom of the map to do what I want, but look to be awesome for high boost. I need 60lb/min @ a pressure ratio of around 1.7 the turbo's that seem to fit are HX40 B8574M just on the 60%@60lb choke line @PR of 1.7 HX40 B8584M inside 65%@60lb/min @PR of 1.7 H1E 8284AD inside 65%@60lb/[email protected] H2C 8625N almost 70%@60lb/[email protected] H2E 9551BA inside 70%@60lb/[email protected] but it comes on at 35lb/min which seems very late, I've calculated around 18lb/min @3500rpm I've posted the above for reference if anyone is searching as there really isn't that much info for holsets on larger petrol engines. Does anyone know any more info about the turbo's I have posted, particularly how many blades they have on the compressor. There are so many 8 blade holsets around but no 8 blade holset I have found will flow the number I need at low boost.
