Yes pinging on cruse would have been because the engine was hot, do an oil and filter change as soon as you can and check your coolant level too.

Hmm not too good man, like CUBES said, no need for leaving the car idling for longer then 30secs, ive never had a problem either with ballbearing turbos, id be doing an oil change, being hot for 8 hours isnt too good, what do you mean it was pinging on idle?? :S
