i can tell you right now that the B11 is just a prototype. it will never make it to production, and its been around know for about 4 years. as for the toyota, not too sure (probably much the same story)

the funny thing is if we had this same thread in the rexy forum everyone would be saying the sti would shit all over the gtr! the fact is (no matter how illiterate we are) we are always going to back the skyline.

anything with a dot 5 rating is ok, make sure you bleed the system properly when you do it.

i get into 4th too, i find if i double clutch into the gear it help alot.

for a simple upgrade i would put the n1 turbos on it, im not sure the difference between that and the r34 turbos. im running n1's on mine, and i love them to death! very resposive, plenty of boost, cant go wrong in my opinion.

i get about 460km out of the GTR, and thats in peak hour every day.

congrats on the purchase buddy, ive only had mine for two weeks now and im in love! a word of advice, i purchased my last car (the gtst 4 door) from carizma. i found that there were a number of items that were supposed to be rectified on the car for road worthy that were simply left out. just go over your car fully (or even take it to a mechanic) to make sure its all good. i had to take mine back several times before it was road worthy. other than that im sure these coming weeks will be full of fun for you, as they were for me! so how much power is she making? I agree with jenkies, a decent run around some twisties will have the missus saying GTR FTW!!! ... or she will hate you for scaring the crap out of her... one or the other.

thanks for the tips, we have narrowed it down to the actual manifold gasket around number 4 cylinder. however i will be replaceing all of the gaskets at the same time, i just dont want to take any risks.

great, i can see fun times are ahead. the previous owner already changed the gasket not that long ago. the car is also running without a cat, and tends to backfire a bit, could it be possible that when this has happened the backpressure has forced the manifold gasket apart? a long shot i know, but when it backfired under load last night, i could have sworn i saw a bright orange flash from under the bonnet. the car hasent been the same since... just a theory...

so would simply changing the manifold gasket fix the problem (in theory)? and is it a big job, i have heard that there is nearly a days labour involved!?

but the manifold leak is is sucking air in, therefore running lean.

Ive owned it now for two weeks and im already coping grief. it has an inlet manifold leak, which is causing it to run lean, but here is the catch... I think that it is over fueling, as it has backfired a few times under load (not even full throttle) and it died on the way to work this morning. it wouldnt fire up again, so i left it for about 5 minutes and it fired up again. But i virtually have to drive it like there is and egg between my foot and the throttle because when you try to accelerate it just pops and farts and carries on. it has an apexi power fc computer, would it be this trying to compensate for the lean conditions? any advice would be fantastic! thanks in advance guys.

she's in the shop today for a check over, and dyno run. found out it need a l/h/r wheel bearing. and so it begins....

The engine is still r32, with r34 covers. brakes are standard, unfortunatley. but upgrade is on the way! i would like to get my hands on a set of semi slicks for the track, but need to save my pennies for a while. cheers.
