  1. Yeah wasnt working for me a couple of days ago. With no stuff in the catalogue I was beginning to think my medication wasn't working anymore.
  2. Haha no probs, glad to see you tackled the problem with some thought! I wonder if ATP will improve the flanges in the future...
  3. Nice info dangerman4. I agree that the result you speak of would be much better than the small 2" opening that ATP is offering. You don't happen to have a pic of the final result do you???
  4. I took a good look at the dual outlet flange available for the new GT wastegated housings. While it looks like a very nice idea... does anyone think the flow from the wastegate would be pretty damn turbulent? Have a look at this. You can see as the wastegate flapper opens up, the gas is going to spew sideways and create some serious turbulence as it tries to exit the relatively small 2" exit on the flange. Moreover due to the way the flapper opens into the exit, its half blocking the exit too. This is a reference picture to illustrate how much area the small 2" discharge hole is covering. What do you guys think? Maybe an open ended dump is better?
  5. I think maybe because the turbo doesn't have enough time to reach full boost in 1st because it happens too quick? Anyways I have an OS Giken gearset where the 1st gear is much longer. At 7500rpm its ~90kmh. Basically when you slam into 2nd you're already past 100kmh. But... coupled with a twin plate, its easy to stall. Also launching makes it harder cos if you go off boost its a real slug. But if you wanna get to 60kmh quickly its cool because you only have to do it in 1st gear and you still only at 5,000rpm!
  6. I dunno about you guys but I don't think Shaun's dyno reads low. It seems on the mark to me. But interesting about the tyres being warm. Its an indication that there is excessive friction.. either being strapped down too hard or not enough?
  7. J Taylor, you are using a Dyno Jet aren't you? They read a fair bit higher than our Dyno Dynamics units. 10-15%? Anyways nice results.. and even nicer car!
  8. Well why not give the 10W30 a shot in summer. Your motor might like it Unless its a track vechicle etc.
  9. ^^ Yeah no shit. Have one of those 'private plates' or have them on a spring loaded hinge... go for a burn, put em back on when you're done. Ah that would be so nice but alas, back to the real world now....
  10. Well I'm not here to tell people what to do but I reckon 2,000km changes is overkill! Yes a filter will go into bypass if its full of junk but as I mentioned, unless the engine has issues, a filter should not be full by 2,000km. Even then if the filter is plugged, by cutting it up you can't see anything anyway. Also when a filter goes into bypass, the debris is embedded into the media (unless you got chunks of metal!) so it shouldn't be going anywhere. Sorta like dipping a dirty shirt in a bucket of water.. the dirt just doesnt 'wash off' sorta thing.
  11. Look at these bunch of knobs in the USA attempting to drift a "Bee*R" GTR. Friggin shame.
  12. Why change the filter at 2,000km. If it really is full of junk at that stage, your engine has serious issues. Good quality filters are good for 10,000km.
  13. I think speedos are all calibrated to overread by a small amount eg 2%. All cars do it. I would trust the PowerFC especially with the RPM - after all, its the PowerFC that should know it better than a dumb analogue needle because it controls the darn motor!
  14. Ive seen an R34 max out its stock AFM. You could 'tune around it' but thats getting dodgy.
  15. lol it was only sarcasm Madaz.
  16. Yeah how stuffed up is the law these days. i heard a cop say once that u can beat the crap outta the theif, throw him off ur property and he can't prove nothing?
  17. They were PFR6s. Not exactly a 'hot' plug since the NEO uses a 5 as standard IIRC? Anyways they were replaced with BCPR7ES.
  18. Was during the day. They don't use flashes then do they?
  19. An all time low for SAPOL. Why don't they follow the eastern states and use fixed cameras and promote slowing down _at the site_ rather than a fine in the mail a month later. Makes me hope there was nothing like this on Eagle on the Hill when I went for a spin last weekend.
  20. NGK Platinums. lol
  21. ^^ The is the reason guns should be legalised in this country. I bet if the situation was reversed and theif got run over by the owner, it'd be the owner in jail/charged.
  22. My mate with a R34 GT-T noticed some severe misfiring after giving his car some stick on a hot day. We pulled the sparkies and I almost had a heart attack... and this is how 5 of the 6 looked. Changed em and the car runs fine now. Its a miracle the porcelain/metallic bits didnt seem to damage the ceramic turbine or valves. Then again I haven't done a compression test since. Is this guy lucky or what!! No I didn't create this thread to bag out my mate, just to show you guys what kind of damage detonation can do and how easy it is to loose a motor.
  23. ^^ Maybe if you hammer the thing against a wall to close the gap and open it up again to 10mm and then multiply this cycle by 100.
  24. Sorry Madaz can't say much from your Shootout parameters. Either your car has really lost power or the parameters from your last reading where whacky beacuse the current run seem OK to me right now. And yeah a night time dyno would be sweet. But even during summer where its mid to high 20s over night, its still gonna be friggin hot! Btw Cubes when I was in the cell I was sweatin in there? It seemed pretty hot. Or maybe because of all you onlookers expecting 1000rwkw. lol.
  25. My IT was 37. What I wanna know is what the reference BP (barometric pressure) units are that DD are using. If its kpa, then I would assume that a BP of 101.1 would have a negative correction on all our readings as the SAE reference is 98.8kpa. Might shoot Dyno Dynamics an email...
