  1. Do you still have the ARC intercooler, and if so what are the dimensions of the core? Cheers
  2. And even if you can get the engine to run without detonating, you're still going to need new injectors, fuel pump and computer
  3. Bump
  4. My car gets swapped over on the second week of Feb. The time won't be able to go fast enough!
  5. It's simple, you could easily do it yourself. Just unbolt the standard dump and front pipes, and then bolt the CES one in it's place. But if you're not confident with a spanner, I'm sure the most an exhaust place would charge to fit it would be $50.
  6. Joel, You forgot to mention new injectors and fuel pump also, as the GTS Gear won't cope. Trust me I added up the cost both ways for my conversion, and the RB25DET works out a lot cheaper, every time! It's costing me: $2100 for a 1995 RB25DET (64,000 km) engine, ecu, intercooler, wiring loom and fuel pump $600 for a CES twin dump/front pipe (though you could get a cheaper single dump for $250) $315 GReddy Turbo timer and Apexi pod filter $800 labour to swap it all over And after it's complete I can sell my RB25DE engine, ECU, and wiring - to recoupe some of the costs. Sure a RB30DET would be nice, but when I added it all up (doing it properly and not dodgy) it was going to cost in the region of $8000 - (RB30 bottom end with forged pistons and balanced internals, turbo + manifold, dump/front pipe, intercooler + piping, blowoff valve, fuel pump, aftermarket computer to run the larger injectors). And with the RB30DET putting out so much torque, it would surely destroy my clutch and gearbox. I am envious though Joel, if I could justify throwing the money at a RB30 conversion, I would have. But at the end of the day the RB25DET made far more sense. Ryno
  7. Thanks mate, my new engine is going into the car, in the second week of Feb. I'm keen to get a 34 intercooler for it by then, but whatever suits.
  8. How long before you remove it and put on a front mount?
  9. There must be someone with one?
  10. You can't get a spit system (separate wastegate pipe) for $250 - $400, only the single 3 inch dump pipes, which are no where near as good. You get what you pay for.
  11. Get in Quick! I just ordered my twin dump/front pipe through CES, and they're offering 15% off for the month of January... This makes it $552.50... BARGAIN!
  12. What size is it? Can you send pic to [email protected] Cheers
  13. Bump
  14. Dan, You might have to slap your friend around the head, and tell him to get a real car!
  15. Bigcarl, Where did you buy your dump pipe from?
  16. Still looking, Anyone?
  17. I've very keen to get one also, it's a shame their web site doesn't have prices
  18. Haha, well done Dom
  19. Any idea where I can find one?
  20. Will pay around the $300 mark
  21. There's not much point in trying to slap a turbo onto a non-turbo engine, given that half cuts are so cheap. It will cost around $2500 (incl labour) to drop a RB20DET in or $4000 to put a RB25DET into a R32. If you were to try and put a turbo onto your non turbo motor, you will have to buy: Turbo ($1000), Manifold + Dump pipes ($500), Intercooler and piping ($500), New pistons ($????), Head gasket ($200) plus labour to pull the engine apart to install the new pistons, and drop it back into the car... Then once this is all together, you may find the new computer/injectors/fuel pump aren't up to the task of running it all. It's far easier and cheaper to simply swap the engine, with parts from a half/front cut. Ryno
  22. I've got 17 x 8's all round, and the fronts rub only if you hit a bump under hard braking. I've got 235/45R17 rubber on them, but when I next get a set of new tyres I'm going to change to 225/45R17 up front so I can lower the car without it rubbing (it currently rubs the suspension arm, and not the guard). As far as the rears go, you could probably get away with 17 x 9's, but you may need to get the guards rolled. Ryno
  23. If both cars get the revs up before launching, the peak power of the GTSt should have it win. However if the GTSt is an automatic it can't launch properly, and it also loses about 10% of it's power because of the transmision - meaning it puts about the same peak power down as a GTS25.
  24. I've been door to door with a R32 GTSt before and there was nothing in it. However it was an automatic, so that's what probably evened up the race.
