  1. Hey Ants, if you find out a price on the painted version can you let me know. I'm looking to get a Gunmetal GTR front bar for my car, so knowing a new price would help me weigh up my options. Cheers
  2. Who listens to the radio these days anyway? Surely not enough to worry about the reception from the windscreen aerial, anyway.
  3. Are those red covers on your horns a standard item? Not that I ever use the horn, but as I don't have them on my car - I might be missing out on something!
  4. Plenum and strut braces still for sale...
  5. Wow disco you have put way too much thought into this... But it's like you said early on, when do you ever get to hit the 300rwkw mark on the street? I certainly can't use my 265rwkw (or so) in first or second, so that leaves third and that's loss of license time. Sure it's cool to say you have 300rwkw, but that doesn't mean much in a daily drive when you can never use it. Your reference about Heathcote Road made me smile, as my car is almost like an automatic now, in that I can just stay in 5th (if I choose) even when overtaking. There's tight corners on the way to work where I used to use third (to get the throttle response through the corner and out of it) but now I just use 4th. Torque rules!
  6. I think the manifold is excellent and would transform any turbo, but I'm not selling them, I'm just passing on my experience. I should clarify that with my power comparisons above, there are so may variables (different temps/dyno's etc) but the main point of difference may be diff ratio... Mine is 4.08:1 so if you're is the same the comparison will be "mostly" valid for full throttle.
  7. Comparing the graphs there isn't zero difference... 60kph my car - 53rwkw yours - 45rwkw 70kph my car - 64rwkw yours - 51rwkw 80kph my car - 78rwkw yours - 65rwkw 90kph my car - 95rwkw yours - 85rwkw That doesn't look like much of a difference, but that is the part of the torque range that counts in making a road car very nice to drive. My car has it over yours by at least 10 - 20% through that area, and add to that the instant throttle response makes a power delivery that's just awesome to drive.
  8. That was while we were doing the initial tune, so it wasn't wound out. But it was the only one that was saved at wastegate pressure to give the comparison at the same boost level. The other graphs I have at high boost were taken when quite heat soaked, so it would be interesting to see what figures it would put down before the heat soak sets in. Maybe I need to put my name down on the next SAU dyno day.
  9. Yes the 1" runners are the key, Mike told me that they put one of these manifolds on a RB20 and with a 3076 turbo, it hit 20psi at 3600rpm! No I haven't tracked the car or taken it down a strip. I'd need to get the car squatting better as full throttle spins through 1st and 2nd, and that wouldn't result in a very quick time. Mike would definitely have the skills to make up the dump, but I don't think he has a template to make a generic dump, so I'd say he'd need your car.
  10. Hey Josh, I haven't considered running E85, as there isn't anywhere that sells it down my way and (as I have a power FC) I can't run dual maps. Also I seriously don't need any more power given my car is a daily. The Torque it puts out is awesome, so there almost never a need to rev the engine out to get the job done. The other thing that has been a nice surprise, is that my fuel economy has improved by around 1 1/2 litres per 100kms - which make sense as there is now better volumetric efficiency on light loads, and better power (for the same boost level) everywhere in the rev range. As far as I know MX Performance is the only manifold designer that is making manifolds in 1" diameter (when requested) and that is the key to getting all the response and torque low in the rev range. I bought the manifold and gate from Mike at MX as a package deal (for a bloody good price) but you'd have to speak to him to see what he can do for you. I also bought all the dump parts off him, but had Luke at O2 Performance weld it all up once we fitted the turbo to the car.
  11. Hey Josh, There are more pictures in my build thread below... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/409509-rynos-r32-over-a-decade-and-counting/ Given you want a "response monster" - you'd wet yourself if you drove my car. I wouldn't ditch your 2535 just yet, the MX manifold may be the transformation you're after.
  12. It's been mentioned in this thread before but putting a decent manifold on with an external gate is not a bad option. I've just done that with my HKS GT-RS and result has been incredible. I used a MX Performance exhaust manifold (with 1" runners) and Turbosmart Compgate. We welded the stock internal gate shut. The 1" runners keeps the gas speed high low in the rev range, so performance on the street is awesome - everyone one who drives it says it's the best Skyline they have driven on the street, as the throttle response is so immediate... It builds positive boost from 1200 rpm, with 5 psi at 2000 rpm and it now makes more power at 14psi of boost than it used to at 18psi. Here's a comparison of the difference of power delivery at the same boost level with the manifold/wastegate change. Given the 2535 is quite similar to the GT-RS, I think you'd hit the power level you're after quite easily with E85 and this manifold setup.
  13. Rockers Covers, HICAS Lock Brace, Exhaust Manifold and Gauge cluster sold
  14. Why do you leave the line in 2nd? Does your diff ratio make 1st useless?
  15. Love your work dude.... Though reading a thread like this gives me bad ideas!
  16. Wow, impressive results Warlord... I've gone for super response with my GT-RS, by using a small diameter tuned length exhaust manifold and external gate, and your setup is not a great deal laggier than mine. I obviously make more power low in the rev range, but we make the exact same power at 120 kph and then you run away from me with an extra 80 kw at the top end.
  17. I always loved the feel of the short shift on my RB20 box, as it had stiffer springs and felt really precise. However from what I've read online about those that have installed a short shifter on the RB25 box, I'm now sitting on the fence. The risks of damaging the synchro's doesn't really bother me, as I've never had an issue with the old (and weaker) RB20 box, but some have reported they get more gearbox noise through the cabin after installing the short shifter, and I like the luxury of quiet cruising. What I've done (for now) is chopped the height of the shift down to suit my gear boot and knob - I then tapped a M10x1.25 thread into it, screwed in a bolt and chopped off the end. So if I ever wanted to put a screw in gear knob back on, I've got that option.
  18. I'll take that under advisement, but I had a short shifter in my RB20 box for around 8 years and it was the torque that recently killed it (not the shifter).
  19. Got my new box of goodies (from Justjap) installed today... Brand new ECR33 Gearbox, Nismo clutch slave and Redline oil... Here's a pic of it installed... Weird to see a skyline gearbox without oil stains and road grime: The gearbox crossmember is only attached via two bolts at the moment, but I've got a new custom crossmember/mount being made by Vibratechnics in the UK. The car is now very nice to drive with the brand new box, though I'll have to swap out the stock shifter for a short shift as the long throw is killing me!
  20. That was the comment I was referencing in my above post, but maybe I was a bit harsh as you did put a question mark on the end.
  21. If you want better response, then the most cost effective way of doing this is swapping the exhaust manifold to a tuned length type with 1" runners. I have just done this conversion to my RB25 with GTRS turbo and the response is as good as the stock ceramic turbo, but I make more power everywhere (with over 255 rwkw at the top end). R32Nismoid mentioned earlier in this thread about the 1" runners choking your top end power, that's nonsense - he clearly has no experience with this kind of manifold. Speak to Nathan Weissel at O2 Autosports, his drift car has an RB26 with a big single, it runs one of these manifolds (albeit in twin scroll and with twin wastegates) that makes 424 rwkw and sees boost in the range you are looking for.
  22. Not a lot of interest here so most items are now listed on eBay
  23. Not sure why you can't play the video, as it works fine for me
