  1. I'll just let everyone know, I learnt a LOT while doing this. I ended up using a 1.05mm shim, and 1.40mm shim (2.45mm all up) and I drove my car for the first time tonight and it is completely locked. I certainly wasn't expecting it, as I was already running 1.95mm and I thought .5mm won't make a heap of a difference. Also while reading the thread people using 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8 never seemed to end up with a locked diff. I'm quite stumped to be honest. I either did it really right, or really wrong. I am using Castrol VMX90 oil. The behaviour of the car is dramatically different, and even on slight bends you can feel the car wanting to push forward rather than easily coast around the corner. I'll let everyone know how it feels when it has settled in. -Jimmy.
  2. After a glove box dude, got one and will you send it to 2289, NSW?
  3. Respect!!! Any vids? I wanna hear this thing.
  4. No matter what car you drive you have the same chance of losing your license. It all just depends on how you drive and your attitude.
  5. I'm not sure if this helps you much but I just upgraded my brakes from 1 pot all round to GTSt specs which are pretty much the same as GTR however the rotors are 2mm narrower. I'm using a BM44 and it feels fine but if you end up going the BM50 let us know how it turns out BTW: how much would a BM50 set you back roughly?
  6. If you are talking about the boulsters, I am 99% certain they aren't adjustable in any way. Sorry to hi-jack :S just trying to answer the question. Free bump, good luck!
  7. I have noticed that there are infact a lot of RB25DE factory R32 sedans over in NZ :S not sure why. Everyone is Australia are the people needing/wanting them. haha
  8. The LSX90 is what I've been using and honestly it does the job fine. I've been told to use Penrite oil as it's better for a tighter shimmed diff and I had a mate who bought Motul oil for his LSD but it just depends how much you're willing to spend and what the purpose is. In short, LSX90 will be fine. The NA 25GT R34 will most likely have an open diff, unless it's a GT-V model which will then have the GT-t. If you're wanting to upgrade to an LSD you will have to buy an R33 LSD/housing. Edit: Just read you have the GT4, sorry I can't answer your question about it having an LSD then. Hope that helped, Jimmy.
  9. Hey Everyone. When I bought my NA R32 it had been upgraded with some parts including 5 stud conversion and LSD. I will try not to go too much into the brakes side of things but just on a side note when I bought the car I assumed it had GTS-t calipers and discs as it was 5-stud. I later learned that they were not GTS-t as the rotors were thinner and calipers still 1 pot all round. I did some research and came to the conclusion they must be NA Z32 (300ZX) brakes. Now a couple of months ago I had an issue where pretty much all of the bolts that hold my driveshaft and halfshaft together fell out. The previous owner used incorrect sized bolts and as a result my car came to pretty much an instant stop while I was driving on the road one day. So I thought easy done, I will buy new driveshafts and halfshafts and bolts (as they were all damaged in the incident). So I bought some 5 bolt halfshafts from an R33 diff. I recieved them and it didn't fit!? I thought maybe for some reason it had to be from an S13 or R32. So I managed to borrow my mate's spare LSD from an S13 and took a halfshaft out of it and it didn't fit either. It was the same as the R33 one. So anyway in the meantime while I searched for my rare half shafts my mate let me bolt his S13 LSD straight into my car. It took me months but I eventually found pair on Yahoo Japan Auctions! I was stoked. So the last few days I have been playing round with my diff and shimming it back up so that I can return my mates S13 diff and bolt my old one in. Basically the question is, why is my diff different to others and has anyone seen these halfshafts before? I have looked at other LSD's and the centre appears the same, I can't find a difference but there must be something. I am thinking it is from an NA 300ZX aswell but I couldn't be sure, and I have no idea why they would be different. Here's some pics that might help. My diff centre My halfshafts S13/R33 Halfshafts (I have also looked at R32 halfshafts from someone else's diff and they are the same) Comparison: Longer Shaft Comparison: Short Shaft ANY help appreciated Thanks, -Jimmy
  10. How exactly is it installed in the car? I'd be willing to buy one for my R32.
  11. This is the result of my R32 GTS-t brake conversion. I also painted my calipers gold and I think it looks really nice! -Jimmy.
  12. My NA R32 4dr. -Jimmy.
  13. The GTS-t rotors should fit without a problem, as I know GTR rotors fit on the GTS-t hubs. I did a GTS-t brake conversion just recently on my car, and it should be fairly straight forward but you might need to source the rear brake lines too. Mine were a different connection and also were too short. I got some rubber lines made up for $55 each which I thought was an alright price.
  14. What's your explanation? I think it's possible? Without rear seats, sound deadening, maybe put on a GTR bonnet as they're aluminium, as suggested maybe give the reo bars a trim and remove the hicas, audio and a/c.
  15. My RB25DE in my R32 dyno'd @ 115rwkw. Your mum's magna/verada or whatever is heavier, handles like crap, looks like crap and is FWD. I wouldn't even compare the two.
  16. Yes, Nissan made the Nissan Skyline GTS25 TypeX.G which was the 4-door model with an RB25DE. Usually pretty uncommon, and if you find one it's most likely an auto. To my knowledge they are not able to be imported.
  17. Just so you know, you have an NA R34 which means you'll need to buy suspension which fits R33... Unless yours is the R34 GT-V model? Don't ask me why. I would suggest maybe TEIN Super-street coilovers. They are a good compromise between street and track.
  18. I don't know the stock camber on the front and rear at stock height. It varies depending on the height of your car a little. My car is on TEIN Superstreet suspension wound as low as they go, and the fronts are reading about 1degree, twenty something minutes each side. The rear on the other hand is a bit over two and a half. I'd really love some adjustable arms to fix this up. The R33 front LCA's I've been told will fit, and will give you a little bit extra lock and also a bit more camber. Yet to try it out though.
  19. A large gap where? I think if you put the stock 18x8 350Z track rims on it, the offset would roughly be the same of those 20" peices of crap and it wouldn't look so out of place.
  20. Do you know the offset and dimensions of the rims by any chance? Cheers.
  21. Ban Commodores from young drivers -.-
