  1. Got the rim back today, cost only $120 so I'm happy. Would recommend the boys at Quickfit Belco based on my experience, they've been helpful.
  2. Sweet, maybe if we could meet after that? :)
  3. So who's interested in doing some swapping then? If anyone wants MAME game roms or any other old school game rom files (snes/sms/megadrive/amiga/c64 etc) I have plenty of them too. I'm happy to volunteer my place (Bruce) to meet up, have a few beers and do some swapping. Maybe Friday Night?
  4. With this amount of music, taking the drive out and doing and direct copy is worthwhile... but even that takes a while!
  5. Saw an NSX last night in civic, the red one with stickers down the sides and plates "NSX 08X" or something. It looked like J-Racing Jerry driving it? Would that be right? edit: like he said above
  6. Nice work ewen, we have to hook up. I have around 53 GB, if we combine that'll be some collection! Really need to get some setup in car with all this... mmm miniPC + in dash TFT... John
  7. spotted sxygtst in fyshwick, got a wave
  8. Spotted yesterday in Fyshwick around 4pm the chameleon skyline - haven't seen that thing for a couple of years! It's a 33 gtst with GTR type wing, chameleon wheels etc. Has number plate "AJC" I think from memory. Does anyone know the dude who owns it? Sounded great as it screamed by. (is in HPI - that R33 special issue thing)
  9. Do you know what brand/model they are?
  10. That would be right near Gresh's fantastic foosball table. It's really shaping up.
  11. Is the rear subframe / engine on the monocoque yet? I was in at the workshop last week getting Nashy to help me get some bolts off my car so I could put my front strut brace on (had to drill the bastards into little bits). Didn't see any half built cars sitting around...
  12. Hey, just remind me, did you guys finish higher than 7th? The key is to lose the monocoque, and it's possible now that robby has gone... Anyone wondering what we're on about, we built one of these: and we got to CNC things like this throttle and restrictor: Has a Honda CBR600 in the rear, and drives like a rocket (if it doesn't break) http://www.ticuna.com.au
  13. Nice work. What year are you in? I did an Sys Eng / IT double there from 98 -> 2002. Are you involved in the FSAE car project? (I did an average job of the intake/exhaust in 2002)
  14. Did you say at some point you were doing an engineering degree? at ANU?
  15. Well that makes some sense (I've been dealing with Quickfit belco). Maybe it's slightly cheaper because I've spent $950 with them in the last 2 weeks.
  16. I wouldn't mind having a few rim scratches fixed up too if it was cheap, but I was told it's not worth the bother for how much it'd cost. Depends what your rims are worth of course... I was quoted $150 for the rim repair by the place where I bought my tyres (they send it off to Qbyn somewhere). Does that sound reasonable? One advantage of going with them is they'll lend me a rim to take my new tyre while it's being fixed - I don't have to drive on the space saver at max 80kms an hour!
  17. Found my rear left delfating even with my new tyres. Turns out the rim has a small crack in it. Can anyone recommend a place to take the rim for repair? I'm told it can be welded and will be like new. John
  18. Is that the thing that fits inline with the RCAs? Or something on the power line?
  19. Just depends if things are on special. The big chains sometimes have decent deals if that's the case.
  20. Go the John silver s2 Gtst's :headbang:
  21. After the timer switches off you're no worse off though I assume. (not that anyone stands around to watch the timer - but still, it only runs for say 60 seconds)
  22. Excuse my ignorance SK, but how does it do that?
  23. All sounds good, wouldn't mind helping out too, and maybe get a car or two to help me with my sister's year 12. As a side note, anyone doing this who has comp. insurance should be careful, my policy has some specifics about not being covered if being paid to drive someone.
  24. I've seen these around a couple of local shops in Canberra, would be interested to know what people think of them. You can get an xforce turbo back setup all in S.S with for about $1000, or pay a bit more and get one of those nice looking split dumps. Just Jap sell them too: http://www.justjap.com/xforce.htm They certainly look solidly built. Anyone got one?
