  1. I'm in a similar situation, but I was thinking of going for a Trust Power Extreme II. Suggestions? (R33 Gtst)
  2. saw a red r33 s1 leaving Weetangera last night at 8.30pm, seen it around that time a couple of times before
  3. Engineer for a company that does GPS receiver hardware/software design. (And yet I still haven't got around to setting one up in my car...)
  4. I went by Kam thismorning, they told me that they can't do much with Skyline seats as the cloth is glued onto the seat, and so a patch job is the only option (and they told me to go away and do that myself). I'll try the other place suggested, but it looks like a fix for now might just have to be a home made patch.
  5. Ah yes I know the one, cheers.
  6. Hi all, My drivers seat has worn through on the right hand side support (down the bottom where you brush past every time you get in the car), and I'd like to get it repaired/patched professionally before it gets too much worse. Can anyone suggest a place in Canberra (Fyshwick preferably) that does that sort of work? John
  7. Last night about 8 - 8.30pm saw an R33 go nuts turning off the Tuggeranong Pky and right onto Cotter Rd. Was racing what looked like a mini at the lights, lost it and ventured over the median strip.
  8. Seems to have sorted itself out, I just cable tied the rcas and moved things around a bit and I can't hear it anymore. I've not had car sound running off a seperate amp before, speakers sound amazing. The amp in the Pioneer 6450 headunit was apparently really really bad at any kind of volume, and had me wondering about my shiny new JL audio 6x9s. (The inbuilt amp in my old bottom of the line sony head unit seemed to pump out much cleaner power than the pioneer)
  9. saw fellow silver 33 sxygtst at 8.05 on canb av, and a white 33gtst with gtr wing behind me...
  10. I'll try moving the ground and see what happens. The amp is one of those Jaycar AA-4035 4x100W rms amps (being discontinued and on sale at the moment for anyone who's interested). A cheap amp compared to some brands but they're supposed to be ok as far as I know... Anyone else out there with one of these amps who's not having problems and can let me know how they've wired it up?
  11. That would have been me!
  12. At the moment the amp is just screwed into the base shelf of the boot (carpeted MDF). It's grounded (4GA) at the same point the battery is grounded, and the power (4GA) comes straight from the battery terminal via a fuse.
  13. For sure, keen to have a look at your GTR at some stage too. Go the series 2 33s :headspin:
  14. Sounds good, I'll try and find you. What time?
  15. where are you guys meeting today? if its not too far from fyshwick id be keen to come along...
  16. Just installed an amp and I'm having amplifier engine noise problems. I've done searches and will try and figure it out but I was just wanting to confirm which side of the vehicle is best for running the RCAs? I've got them down the passenger side at the moment (cleverly running right past the ECU!), is this the best way? Also, I've got nice heavy 4GA power/ground lines on the amp, do I need to mess with the wiring on the pioneer head unit? (I'm thinking not?) Car is a 33 gtst. Cheers, John
  17. Count me in, I work in Fyshwick not far away wouldn't mind dropping by and saying hi. Drive mine to work every day. John
  18. I have the "Skyline" rear brace too. (car is one of the few '95 series 2s (manufactured 12/95))
  19. Hi all, I was chatting to James last Friday during Nats and he mentioned that there was possibly going to be a track day at Wakefield some time soon?
  20. The one I was thinking of (a silver series 2 like mine) is actaully owned by the guy who works there (Chris?), so it would not have been taken for any test drives.

  22. the standard silver r33 belongs to the EVO motorsports guy
  23. Hi swiftied-gtr, What colour is your 34? Any mods? John
  24. Took the car to David Hand Smash Repairs last Monday, got it back today looking good. Just waiting on indicator light frosted plastic cover thingy, everything else looking like new. Based on my experience I'd certainly go back there. (and as a side note Famous are paying no probs - but of course they'll presumably get the money from the other party)
  25. I'm with Famous and they don't have any preferred repairers. Part of the deal with their policies is that you get to choose who does the repairs I think. They're sending a assessor guy to check it out and then hopefully giving the repairs the all clear. Not easy to find people willing to quote me for an import insurance job, but I got one from David Hand Smash Repairs who seemed good. John
