  1. I think the T04S would be a good size for what I need. Still priced up near $3000 and non ball bearing.
  2. You need to have the air recirculating for the AFM to pick it up. There are ways round this, but an aftermarket ECU is the best way.. I would keep the stock BOV personally.
  3. There isn't even a boost cut on the RB20. The only thing I ever use to run into was a speed cut even when the limiter was removed.. I could run as much boost as it could handle however without ever experiencing a cut.
  4. Do any other companys make twin scroll turbo's apart from HKS? I know Trust has the T88 etc, I need something smaller. Need some specs of some of these turbos.
  5. The problem is intermittent.. so not likely a air leak. Most likely an electrical fault. I have a similar problem in a R32 GTR. Try the TPS..
  6. Thanks for that ROY. I know the welding on the manifold isn't the best.. I just had a GTR head and that manifold was attached.. so it's better than having nothing right? It had a very heavy turbo attached... and didn't seem to hurt the manifold too much. The HKS one above had a couple of small cracks with the T88 attached. Is there anything I can do to the SubZero manifold to improve the welds?? So a T04 with a 50mm exaust wheel and an A/R of .69 is rather small?..
  7. The firing order for the RB is 153624. Thanks for pointing that out, I never considered it. So looking at the manifold, it will fire. Right, Left, Right, Right, Left, Left. The HKS manifold seems to just bank 3 from each side. Getting really confused with all this.. I guess all I can do it try things and see what happens. Quite interesting though.
  8. I took some more photos to compare etc. I tried to take some of the exhaust fins on the dual entry T88 but I couldn't get it to show up. The fin design is rather different to that of a single entry turbo. I would imagine mixing the two would cause problems.. Subzero Manifold. Trust T88 Turbo. Single inlet T04. Sorry if the links disappear.. free host.
  9. Well I am not going for insane power at high RPM.. 400rwhp with great torque even would be great for a start. It is a street car. Im not to sure on what affects it? .69 AR with a 50mm exaust wheel? How does A/R compare to wheel size? As for my manifold, the Subzero one I have actually a split design also... goes from 2 lots of 3 into 2 and straight to the turbo. Is it vital to have a matching turbo with split entry design? or am I now forced to get the proper turbo or another manifold.. Damn more things just keep proping up...
  10. So I have a T04 with a .69 exaust housing. Some people have said this will be too small on a RB30DET setup?
  11. Yeah your right there merli.. i didn't look close enough. That manifold has a T88 34D attached to it..
  12. These are the same setup as the 044. Just a basic pump that will need to be modified to make intank. I just sold a setup to install on a R33 GTR with twin 910 pumps and a swirl pot.
  13. The HKS setup seems to be very good. I have a Subzero manifold for my RB30 setup.. it is rather odd looking and I can only hope it dosn't cause any problems like stated here. Here are some pictures comparing the manifolds.. the photos were taken on a phone so sorry if it's hard to see anything at all.. HKS Manifold. If you zoom in or something you can see that it goes from 3 into 2 just before it goes into 1. Subzero Manifold. Certainly not tuned length and goes 6-1. I might have to get one like the HKS manifold made..
  14. :bahaha: Plastic windows too, but apart from that isn't much done to it. Those pics are from the Performance car web site.. some info on the car was wrong there so im not sure what it was actually using when it did the 10. Rips will inform you im sure.
  15. Sydney kid... i think you will find the car dosn't have half the things you listed. Runs a Link ECU. He makes his own intkae manifolds. Tyres can be seen in the pic. Funny thread. Us kiwis just know better :shake:

  17. I have been for a ride in one here in New Zealand. Sams one. Did a 11.2 at the drags with minor mods to the Rb26DETT. Im hoping to find a 180SX to bolt the RB30DET into..
  18. Is there a limit to the size External Gate you should have.. I have a GTR head with a manifold and a rather large wastegate.. not sure if I should sell it and get a smaller one or use it? See it
  19. You can modify them to bolt onto a 4WD sump.. there are GTS-4's with RB30 hybrids in them. I'm not talking about the sump however, just the RB26DETT head. I just want to know what CR I will get with the GTR head on the RB30E block..
  20. Have any of you bolted the RB26DETT head on the RB30E? Im about to do that, I was just wondering if anyone knew the difference in compression ratio? If the RB30E/RB25DE is 8.3:1, what is the RB30E/RB26DETT? Apart from tapping the holes in the block is there anything alse that needs doing?
