  1. Bump Anyone? If the Powerfc does not use the stock module.. i will have to make something with two 0-5v outputs controlled by the AFM or similar.
  2. I want to wire up the GTR Fuel Pump Control Module to regulate the voltage to my Bosch External pump in my Siliva. I would like to know if the Power FC for an R32 GTR still uses this setup when installed or does it bypass it somehow? I remember someone saying with the power FC it runs the pumps at constant voltage.. but I may be wrong. The outputs for the control module are on ECU pins 104 and 106. Without going and testing their outputs.. anyone know?
  3. I'm just amazed a thread I thought was a joke is still going..
  4. Yep it's been a while.. I just wanted everything to be done Basic run down on my setup currently: Stock RB30 bottom end (new bearings, rings etc) Ported RB26DETT Head with mild cams Subzero Split pulse manifold. Used a plate to fit my current turbo. Garret GT30/40 spec turbo .82A/R Rear 600cc injectors Power FC
  5. Drove my beast for the first time on Thursday.. been a long time coming. Did a quick tune run on the dyno so I can run it in and iron out the problems etc. Got a couple of small oil leaks, need to get some better ducting to my radiator and my oil pressure seems pretty low at idle seems fine when I get up in the revs however. What people say about traction is true.. I have a .82 A/R hot side.. and it's very touchy. Even with my run in tune. 250hp at 10psi not going over 5k rpm.. the rear end feels like i'm driving on ice.. I have 0º camber on the rear, with 265's. Tires are not brand new though.
  6. Got my RB30DET powered Silvia on the dyno finally! Just to get it all running and so I can drive it etc before the power run. Making 250hp, 290ft/lbs on 10psi, this is not revving it over 5k rpm also. So it's going to be making some nice numbers when I open it up, can't wait
  7. Sorry I meant "chipped ECU" Hmm so putting in a single stock AFM and halfing the data on the Power FC, does that work? Seems that would be a good way to do it..
  8. Seems to work fine having it after the intercooler. Oil, heat whatever.. not hurting it. I made a post about this a while ago.. no one was much help. I used a single R32 AFM in a 4" pipe which is basically double the area of a 3" pipe. It seemed to work well and the data to the PFC seemed as if there was 2 x 3" R32 AFMS. I decided to go with the normal setup in the end because I didn't know if it was going to be 100%, however since then I have had friends do similar and it works fine. As for using a single Z32 and sending both signals to the PFC.. I can't see this working. The air will be moving twice as fast throught a single 3" pipe so the reading will be way off. Thats the reason I used a 4" pipe.. to make it even. However.. I have seen a GTR making over 800HP. I looked harder at this car and found an AFM probe Stuck in the side of the 3" intercooler pipe after the intercooler. This car had a chipped stock AFM.
  9. They are talking about the Speedo end. There is a plastic part with a square end that turns the speedo. This has a spring etc and is attached to the cable. Replacing it with a metal end would be a good idea.. should be stronger from factory. Maybe this will wear your plastic speedo though, who knows..
  10. Yep very common. Plastic bit breaks off.. I beleive some places can fix them, after buying several new ones over the years I found out that it was possible They are easy to remove, check around. A place that makes brake lines and cables here in NZ fixes them so try a similar place there. GTS-T cables are normally not too expensive to buy, but there is no guarantee that it won't break again if it's second hand.
  11. Fun making that all fit. Try it with 2 more lots of fittings on the pump. Nightmare.
  12. You should of been on Trademe.. My bother sold his RB26/Rb30 with stock bottom end but T51R turbo and wastegate for $7k NZ.. done about 1000km.. Including the 4WD adaption and sump/diff.. Silly boy lol.
  13. Looks like it is without the metal cover..
  14. My Silvia is in getting it's widebody fitted.. and he had a GTS-T in there that had been crashed in the rear. The guy found a slightly damaged R32 GTR Rear cut which he basically got for nothing.. (this is NZ ) and has now had the whole thing stiched on.. old skin removed and the GTR one put on. It was done in a couple of days. All up though by the time you include the painting etc, your looking a few thousand just for the rear guards..
  15. You could always do what this S15 has.. probably have trouble finding room but it looks cool. So if we want to "tune" around it.. what is it that most tuners don't know?
  16. Glad I used my GTR head that came with cams and was ported And I might get to drive it this year!!
  17. Bravo. You try and tell people they don't need a turbo timer, they never understand this however. How about turbo's where people have no water cooling? must be a good idea then i guess?
  18. Speaking of the GT-SS Turbo. My friend just bought a turbo and was told it was HKS GT-SS turbo. It only has Garrett written on the housing but I don't recall if HKS actually put their name on all HKS turbos? The core has this written on it: HJ 0188J GT S 472560-14 Can anyone confirm?
  19. Well they must do something special in Japan as i have seen some funny things done. E.G 800HP GTR with stock twin 2 1/2" Air Flow Meters, chipped ECU. another 700HP GTR with a single 3" Air Flow Meter probe plumbed in after the intercooler.. Single.. So there must be something you can do to change the resolution of the AFMs. Must be some big secret.
  20. Yep.. I have posted on here a few times about this type of thing. Some don't believe it, but I have seen it happen enough times to know it does. Only with Ceramic turbos.. and no idea what causes the dust to suck back into the engine. Causes some nice damage though and only to the 3 cyl that the turbo was on. I'm talking large gouges in the bore. I was always careful with my GTR's with stock turbos after seeing this.
  21. Here is Dickys dry sump setup. R32 GTR.
  22. Well.. it is a road reg car. Why do this to a road reg car? well why have anything this crazy for a street car? Street legal street car that he wants to drive around.. yet be fast down the 1/4. It all fits fine, just a bit more work in doing it. Less piping etc though
  23. I don't own the posted motor. Mine is the red one in my sig Most of the cost would be in labour.. especially when fitting all that into a stock engine bay where you have to allow for all the other accessories. The custom fabrication and cost of all the braided lines and fittings adds up also.
  24. I heard it's best to have thermo fans "suck" than blow the air through the radiator anyway.
