  1. KE70 with an SR20 engine transplant, no one will ever know...
  2. HID and xenon halogen globes are two different things. 'Xenon' is just the gas used in the globes themselves. Old technology globes run I think it was argon gas, putting in xenon gas instead of argon gives the globe a longer life span. With your headlights, running these will ALWAYS be better than running an HID kit. Your headlights were designed to run halogen globes, putting in HID globes will give you more light, but the pattern of that light will be all over the place. Best thing to do to get more light out of your headlights would be to get quality named branded globes. Spend more money for quality globes is my recommendation.
  3. Have a read on hidplanet.com. It's not only the projector that makes the cut off line and beam look good. The people over on there use bits and pieces from different cars. Mixing and matching lenses to different shields to different ballasts, etc. There are some crazy lights over on that site.
  4. Yeah, ke70. haha Bursons are a hardware store, something like Repco, Supercheap Auto, but they've got a wider range of things to choose from. hahah I don't recommend people to do this on a skyline at all. It is dodgy and I only did it for some experience. Cheap car, so doesn't really matter what it looks like. Edit: My guards don't look too bad compared to these guards.
  5. Check out the Photography section and then go to the thread with pages and pages of R34's. The cars will have some after market wheels on them. Hope you find something that you like. I would personally go for some R34 GTR wheels. Welcome to the site! Edit: Since I'm in a good mood for some reason, here's the link to the page I and TaKz was talking about. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...se-t146573.html
  6. Look out for threads made by the member named 'LEANBAC'. They're usually held around Noble Park. Edit: It's not so much a 'cruise', but a meet/get together.
  7. Here are some pics to explain my front suspension. Those are the only photos I found to explain it. It's pretty much one whole unit. To change the rotors, I've got to take the whole strut apart/out.
  8. Ah I see where you're coming from by saying unbolting the strut now... Only problem is that my car's suspension isn't the same as skylines. When I undo my bottom strut bolt, nothing changes until I take it off the lower control arm and once it's off that, the whole wheel will come out, it's no longer 'attached' to the car. I'll get a photo if I don't make any sense. Newspaper roll out back would be alright though, but I used the pole first. I would've just taken my springs out and let the car's full weight sit on the tyre.
  9. Why do you have to unbolt the strut? I just did it with the suspension components untouched. I didn't bother using a newspaper because it's too thin and it just gets 'sunken' into the tyres when the guard starts to bend out. The tyre just pushes in once the guard reach the tyres. It might work with those of you with low profile tyres, but I'm running 185/55 tyres and the guard sinks in. It sinks in and once you raise the car again, the guard hasn't even moved from original position. Hope that made some sense.
  10. :laughing-smiley-014: I think I saw him on the train the other day, I think it was on Friday. No shades on though. Edit: What's this for if you don't mind me asking? I'm sure it would help others choose a location for you as well. If it's a birthday party, choose a house somewhere, wedding, go to some restaurant, etc.
  11. Best thing to do would be to just purchase a ABS unit looking at the part number. When you mention 'GTR' to a wrecker, they'll just over charge. When I had to replace my unit, I just asked for an ABS unit for an R32 with 'X' part number.
  12. Oh shit, just read the thread title again and it says "highbeam" hahah. If that's your high beam pattern then that's still shit. I thought it was low beam pattern for a minute there.
  13. That's a farkin BAD beam of light you've got there man. The WORSE glare I've seen on a skyline. What did you do? You've been blinding on coming traffic, have you had any flashes?
  14. When people's wheels rub the calipers, it's only a few millimetres that's why they use a 5mm spacer to clear it. If you only trial fitted to see what they look like and not spin the wheels, there COULD be clearance issues. What are the widths and offsets of the wheels?
  15. hahaha sorry about that mate, I personally think that the wheels would look alright if it actually filled out the guards enough. The small spokes would make your brakes look small, but if you're going to upgrade them later on... Did these manage to clear your front brake calipers okay? I always hear problems of people having to use 5/10mm spacers to clear the brakes.
  16. haha no worries. What car are you planning on doing this on? Don't do it on a skyline in my opinion. The only reason I did it was because I've never done it before and it was on a cheap car. Get a proper guard roller, they're only $150 from Bursons and do the work yourself! Then maybe you can lend it out to me once you're done with it.
  17. They're only 7" wide, why wouldn't they weigh 8kg... Actually put them on a scale and see. My wheels (15x7.5) weigh ~7.5kg each just to give you an idea. These are SSR Mesh wheels too, not some 'cheapo' branded wheels.
  18. Damn... $250k, we're (or you Shepo ) are gonna need to find some sponsors. hahha
  19. The 'newspaper roll' is what the technique of using a book or something like that to roll your guards is called. I actually used a small yellow pages book, like the one posted above somewhere, a old science book from yr5, some Vietnamese text book a while back and I think it was some history book. hahhaha. Just to make it nice and thick. I prefer the pole once you have a good pole. hahha. I used all sorts, one was too weak, it broke in the middle of its job, another just died on me, the rest were too long. If you had the right length and strength pole, definitely go for pole. The yellow pages/book/newspaper roll technique wasn't too bad either, but it doesn't push the lip FLAT against the guard. I did it on the front because of all the tabs hanging out. It did the job, should get a proper roller to finish it off though.
  20. Parallel, I used the softer part closer to the guard and tyre. I think I've got a picture of the front's 'newspaper' role job. Edit: Don't know if you can see it that clear, and before, again, not a really good picture to show you, but that's all I have.
  21. One side is perfectly flat on the inside, the other isn't so good. I used 3 or 4 different poles on the first one cause I've never done it before so it didn't come out as well. It's out of the way, but it's not perfectly flat like the second guard. No before or after pics of actual guard, sorry. Edit: This picture kinda shows how it is, Edit edit: Another from outside view, can't even tell it was done by a pole
  22. Just had another watch of the clip and it looks like the studs are still on and the nuts or something that looks like it are on the floor. What happened? How did all four wheels fall off at the same time? hahahah
  23. Mx5's are known to be a girl-ish car, but they can look tough...
  24. Nope. Nothing happened when I hit my guards with a hammer.
  25. haha was about to say that myself. Looks like he didn't even HAVE nuts on.
