  1. I'll be down for this. Depending on how many people are coming, the one West is talking about is alright (the one along Cheltenham Rd in between supercheap and TAB?). Should be nice and quiet as well.
  2. Just some ideas for the wheels you've chosen.
  3. Good enough? It's got the GTR look, but with an extra 2 doors, it's silver... close enough to white. haha
  4. I don't know much about the compliance thing, but if the car was imported as a 'race import', it can't be complied at all.
  5. The thing with this is that if he had an accident, he/his parents would have to pay for all the damage! Much cheaper to insure with Justcar than not have insurance at all. Just put the car's owner as his mum/dad, but put him down as a driver (for insurance).
  6. That's one clean as ride man. Congrats on the purchase!
  7. I reckon go for 34 GTR wheels or some 19" good offset GT-C's. Your wallet is gonna be a LOT lighter after buying the GT-C's though.
  8. Before you go and look at wheels that you like, do some research and get an idea of how the wheel offset and width will affect the way the car looks. Try to get your car's wheels as close to the guards as you can and try to go for Japanese wheels. Check out wheels for sale by our traders and those on nissansilvia.com. NS.com would probably be your best option for 4 stud wheels. When going to a larger diameter wheel, you would get smaller profile tyres so that the speedo isn't out. The wheels and tyres you have on now should have the same rolling diameter as the new set. Tyres would be more expensive. To find out what offset your wheels are, just take them off the car and look for a sticker or a print. Should tell you the width and offset. My guess is that it would be between +30 and +40. Converting to 5 stud would be the best thing to do. You'll get a wider range of wheels. To find out what the best looking offset would be for a 7" wide wheel, use THIS site. Type in your current wheel specs and type in any random offset for your new wheels and see what comes up. Try and get this to be even with your guards. Good luck with your search for the right wheels.
  9. Haha, you've got some competition from me! If I were to run my car, I'm only expecting ~25rwkw!! Is there a prize for the lowest power made?
  10. I thought Shannons don't insure anyone under 25?
  11. Check out the for sale section on the forums mate. Always someone wrecking an R33.
  12. The change of laws was the number 1 reason why I'm now driving a corolla. I hate the laws just as much if not more than you do. I want to join SAUvic, but not sure what I can get out of it owning a Toyota. I'll go on a cruise and probably get left behind with my HUGE 1.3ltr.
  13. Here are some pictures of my driveway. As you'll see, its bloody stupid, but I can still manage to get out okay. There's also a picture of how low my car is. Only sometimes would it scratch the fuel tank. Is your driveway as bad as mine? I use the curb to get my car over the lowest part of my way out. Here's how low my car is..
  14. Sounds good! I'll be there if I can find any parking.
  15. The average age of GTR owners are getting younger and younger. Most of the time their parents would get the cars for them though. Some work for it.
  16. I know how you feel mate. My driveway would have to be the worst for a car enthusiast. I live on a main road and there wouldn't be any chance of using ramps. Just adapt to your drive way. My car's pretty low, but I can still manage to get out. Just experiment with the ways you can go out of your drive way. At the moment, I'm reversing out at the maximum angle my drive way will let me and making my rear wheel go over the curb so that it clears the lowest section of the road/driveway. Doesn't make any sense. hahaha. You'll understand when you see it though. I'll try and get a picture up of how I get out of my driveway.
  17. I'll try and translate. "Hey all, I was recently in the market for an R34 or R32 GTR. I had a run in with the insurance company a lot because I was 19, so I went with the R34. ( ) So now I'm curious as to how a MY03 STI would go against the 34 GTR. My mates one is very fast, but I've never been in it. ( ) Cheers" I still don't know what the second sentence was trying to say.
  18. These spots are only good for the car's jack. Using a hydraulic jack will bend the jacking points. The stands will do the same. It's just the way the stand and hydraulic jack's designed.
  19. Not only will they turn yellow, but the lights will be worse than they should be. The lines are there to help spread the light where it's needed. It would be good if you were thinking about retrofitting HID's into the high beam area though.
  20. Most panel beaters should be able to do it for you mate. If not, get a roller and do it yourself. You can pick one up for about $150 from bursons. You'll be able to make that money back by rolling other people's guards.
  21. What this guy's saying is correct. It doesn't matter if they're 6000k or 8000k globes, they're illegal unless you've got those cleaners and adjusters from factory. The blue light isn't from the globes themselves. The blue is created by the projector's refracting the light into it's separate speeds and blue just happens to be the only one most wanted (you can play around with the projector's shield and you can get red light). Headlights which have HID's from factory will always have a globe around the 4300k mark.
  22. Hrmm, I might change my gauges direction. At the moment they're facing my chest. I'll push them up so that they go towards my face and see if there's any difference. Cheers for that.
  23. I've got a similar gauge and all i have to say is that it's a pain to have during the day. What I mean by this is that you can't read it properly with all the glare. All good at night though.
  24. Getting springs without suitable shocks and then going to proper coilovers later on is a waste of money in my opinion. Do it right the first time.
  25. My guess would be that the difference is in the gts and gtst's. The NA's have four stud and turbo's have five stud and there could be a diffence in the uprights. Not 100% sure on this one though mate.
