Does anybody have any information on R32 GTR V Spec II ? Specifically I am wanting to know if the V Spec II has the N1 engine and turbos and if so how can an owner or seller verify these facts? Thanks

Thanks for replying . I was really after the name of a workshop that mods and repairs GTRs that also offer the inspection service also. Correct me if I'm wrong but GTRs have a very busy drivetrain and I would like to know that somebody has checked it that really knows his stuff .

Does anybody know of workshops that do pre purchase inspections in the Sydney inner west area . Looking at having a R32 inspected .

Hi ,does anybody know the original colours that came out on R32 GTRs ? I like a dark blue colour however I have only seen one and was wondering if it was an original colour and can you tell of the VIN?

Hi mate , this is what you call dropping valves. Looks as though you are up for one piston , maybe a conrod if it has distorted , a set of mains and big end bearings because you will have the crank out, a quick crank polish and measure , if bore is lightly damaged a light hone or a bore out and then you will be up for a set of pistons and expensive machine work of boring all 6 cylinders. New gasket set complete .The head needs 4 new valves, guide work( i am not familiar with this engine so I do not know if head has guides.If so you might get away with slipping 4 new ones in. If you have not then head will be machined to accept guides. I could go on more but when you start something like this the more you go into it the more there is to fix if you want it done properly .Most important with this repair is to fix the CAUSE. IM a mechanic with no Skyline experience but this engine works exactly the same as whats in Cat dump truck to Porsche 930. I hope I could help with some of the jargon.

I have a car lined up with a knock in the bottom end and the mechanic selling it says I have a choice of a low km engine or a reconditioned unit from Japan . He will install engine and repair minor rust spots .Its got 17inch aftermarket rims ,adj coilover suspension. Does this sound like a better option than a Jap car?

I have heard that if the plenum chamber is not flaked and missing paint that it is a good sign that the motor has not seen high kilometres. Would anybody have any other views or experiences?

Hi I'm looking for an R32 GTR and have been amazed by the amount of cars from Japan that are stating 65000 to 70000km on the clock . Does anybody have any ideas on where to start looking to justify these types of kilometres on R32 GTRs ? Thanks
