How much would you be asking for your front shocks? I'm sellng my r33 and think I should put some better condition struts in the front so I'm not looking to spend money I won't get back if you know what I mean? -

Pearl white? Is this an aftermarket colour or is it the standard/factory nissan white like other skylines? How much for the side skirts? Would you take $150 cash pickup? Interested in the pods as well $$$? Pix would be good..... -
Arrr humbugg, Don't now if anyone else here has this but I'll post it anyway. My front right strut or something is making a click/knock noise under load when braking. I tried replicating the noise by backing up and going forward serveral times to listen to it and it appears to only happen under braking conditions (medium to heavy braking applications). It's just a small movement in the strut or controll arms some were. I have heard of others having the control arm bushes go on them, but its hard to pin point because you can't replicate the problem without driving it and braking. I had a good clean up of the suspension components a couple of weeks ago but couldn't see any obviously problems like wear , loose parts or large gaps etc and all seemed pretty tight to me. I will have to have another good look at it, however any idea's are appreciated. Cheers, RJB.

Front Bar for R33GTST Series 2

Guys if its in this condition then its cheap! I hunted some quotes for a factory replacement and the best price I found was $800 odd without the lights! So if you need a quick replacement you best call about this one otherwise your looking at an aftermarket from $350 unpainted in my experience. -

That may have been me! Sorry don't have the spare cash as I spent it last weekend. $450 sounds reasonable though.... If its as new as you say.... -
JET-33 Thanks for your reply, as I suspected ther isn't really alot of point untill i invest in some computer hardware, if I want the tuning done properly.

Just a quick question about Dyno tuning..... I have an R33 GTST S2. If I got my unit tuned what do they actually tune? My understanding is that the R33 ECU unlike R32 and R34 is not open to modifications. So on the dyno what can be done with my car, I am confident that the Factory ECU is set to run very rich, you can smell it! Do I need a piggy back computer before getting on the dyno or can it be tuned reasonably without the addition of an aftermarket computer? I am not looking for a 10 second drag car just want the thing running at its optimum. Ideas anyone?

Hi all. Same old story here too. But after reading much of the chat on here are there a few fundermental issues being missed? Where did these cars come from? Japan! One of the smallest countries, yet hold a rather large chunck of the automobile industry. (For us they do anyway). The electonics would cop a pounding over there, considering the EPA law over there lots of people are driving so one would expect lots of short trips and a little stop and go in between, possibly. Then there is the weather. How does your battery manage on those cold frosty days, taking into account that the warmer days over there are 20C - 25C otherwise most parts are sub 15C. So you could assume your alternator has already had a hard life before it gets to you. (Unless your lucky and drive 2000-2001 model). So your battery may have been replaced but I doubt your alternator has.... Combined with a fancy car alarm and nasty stereo system your battery could hold that new battery current for every. I does seem ironic however in that what seems to be an effort to reduce emissions they have also decreased the long term safety rating or the cars equiped with this fuel system. I'am no expert, these are just some idea's good or bad! I like the earthing idea. -
Wouldn't mind knowing that myself, if it is a bolt-on job.

Interested in the Parcel Shelf Assembly if it in excellent condition.
-
Yeah, I'a with hippy! don't worry about the dash guage just put in a 3rd party Apexi, HKS etc.. Even more so if you suspect your running a bleeder, besides if you were running 14psi in a stock r33 you would know about it, but not for long...........LOL

Thanx for the tips guys. keep your ideas comming. Oh and were do I find this interior sensor. Mind you I haven't tried looking for it as yet, you may save me some heart ache. The theory of it moving from the floor to your face make sense. Cheers RJB.

Does it sound angry? Yes? Then good! Mine consistanly backfires in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear changes and often if i back off from higher up in the rev rang,Lovin it. The rumble under compression is a nice sound also. It can be controlled with longer slower gear shifts.I must admit a good Ffowing exhaust and rich fuel mixture increases this, and no cat! Oh did I say no cat? Thats illegal isn't it?? LOL You don't want to much though as that can be cop bait... RJB.

Puzzled, I should take this one back to the autoelec, who I think created the prob. When I first pruchased the Car late 2002, I had a FM modulator installed to the Stock Sound. I didn't use the A/C or Climate control for a couple of days but soon after noticed that my C/Contol Modes were wrong and was defaulting to the Floor instead of the Dash. The Thermostatic control had gone a miss also with 18 degrees as cold and 19 onwards as hot with nothing in between. Freezing or sweating was the choice. Checked some websites for diag instructions and found that 2 of the C/Contorl sensors were dodgy, one being the light sensor in the dash. How does it sound? Is this something I can fix? Is this a costly autoelectic job instead? Thanx in advance! RJB

Same here! R33 and both rear indicators. I had the dealer replace the right rear tail light assembly, just to find when I washed the car the same thing happened again. Bad design in general I feel. When I find the time I think the "pull em out and re-seal them" idea sounds good! Anybody tried this? Was it a good solution? Difficult? RJB
