I just went through again, got a double defect. They weren't overly picky but did get done for some things which ive been through with every time before... by the SAME inspector. hahaha
But then again, this time my car looked like an absolute "p i g" (why does it keep changing "p i g" to cop? damn you moderators and admins!!! ) (primer, stencils sprayed all over the car, fiberglass guards, bolt on flares, holes in body pop riveted closed) so i dont blame them for being extra picky and careful about the defect.
In the end I got through the next day, had to do an overnight diff change over, take my fiberglass guards off (been through before and passed...) and some really minor things like reverse lights and guage.
As long as youre friendly, honest and dont have obvious shit on there then you should be fine.
And for the record, everything on the car can be engineered, all thats involved is effort, time and money.
