Question, Just put my coilovers in. I had a wheel alignment done about a week ago, so my question is, do I need another one? Took the car for a drive and it seems to drive as straight as before.

I've had my tx3 impounded for 48hrs and been to court with a $400 fine on top for power sliding through wet park lands. Didn't really do any damage to the grass apart from flattening it, was during winter with shitloads of rain too so didn't do any damage to the ground at all. The two young cops that initially saw me and another car doing it were having a laugh but due to 4 other cars showing up they had to do us for something. So my experience with this is that it was a fair punishment and have learned my lesson from it.

yer both the inspectors i had were chill as! the irst guy laughed at what the cop told me and the second guy told me "if the cockheads pull you over before monday show them the slip because it probably wont be on the system till then" i was stunned at first, than laughed hehe.

damn that looks tough too! wish they allowed the rs and rgv's with r-date licence... nice bikes. atm looks like ill be going up to a drz400sm after i sell the cibby... seems like the best choice for my height till im on my fulls. guess it'd be more comfortable as i ride every day rain or shine to uni n back. opinions? i never ridden one but hear nothing but good things!

and welcome to another edition of f**k i wish i was dead this afternoon! hmmm... someone wanna put my coilovers n shiz in? i keep putting it off till late at night but never get around to it ahaha.

control arm most likely... mine is bent too from previous accident, wore out the tie rod end as if wasnt fixed in ages. im looking at fixing it atm, the wheel is a couple cm off and you can clearly see underneath the car if its much bent compared to the other side. Seems like a simple enough job to replace, could probably do it at home, not in this weather tho... been putting the car off for a week now :S

consider a gps tracker, retail around $350 and all you need is a sim card that sms's you if the car has: 1. moved from your pre-set perimeter 2. alarm gone off 3. engine been started + lots more and best of all in case its on the move while you're sitting at your office desk, it sends you the cars current global position + speed etc... on top of all that it makes the job of recovering a car easy as for the 5.0

haha this just keeps getting better! love the last one, but why don't you guys start from scratch instead of using nisskid's as a base...

ahh so that was you, hai! yeh i got through as well... was my second inspection $68 and 5min of checking i fixed everything on the list. funnily enough as i was driving out i remembered that the boost controller was still hooked up in the engine bay (had 72hrs after first inspection so put it on for a bit of fun) but he didn't check. back to saving up for a paint job.

would def recommend an apprenticeship. I started off with automotive servicing cert.1 , then did auto electrical, then did an engineering cert.1 only to be told by my father that he will not accept me doing anything but uni. So here i am getting in to second year as an industrial designer. In comparison, I've learned nothing new at uni apart from a few tricks of drawing random shit and working with 3d modeling software. Through my tafe stuff I've learned a shitload of skills, and would have loved to move in to a field of toolmaking, fitter n turner, boilermaker etc.. I had a window of opportunity through my engineering certificate at tafe but sadly my dad wouldn't let me do it. I was offered a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off job working as a boilermaker for $45k first year... After I'm out of uni, average pay for the type of work is around $60k... not to mention the $30k + that I will have to pay off for my uni studies. Unless you have the skills to get in to some sort of engineering or medical courses and finish them successfully, uni is a bit of a waste imo. If anything try do an engineering cert. with tafe, its very mixed in terms of skills and can get you any type of work in the industry from welding to machining etc... However its really up to you, i enjoyed doing all that stuff, you might not. Either way, good luck with it all.

zx14r mmmm tough bikes! not a huge fan of the rear end though.

yeh fair enough... Ive had really bad luck with the fan clutches and its cost me over $400 to get it all fixed up yet the clutch on there has just died again... it locks instead of releasing therefore the fan spins at the same speed as the engine. bad for the water pump and your bonnet insulation. went out and picked up BA falcon twin thermos and shroud from a wrecker for peanuts. the shroud mounts were snapped off so the wrecker gave it to me half price. doesnt bother me as i gotta make new mounts anyways putting it up against the old equipment it seems to be the same thickness so should clear perfectly fine. next step is finding a proper thermo switch and hooking it all up

What else did you run apart from the 2x12" fans? did it have a proper shroud? did it have a thermo switch located ON the radiator? how did you wire them up? People often forget that its not the fan that makes the difference, its the shroud directing the flow through it. If you just slap on 2x12" fans on to the radiator without a shroud and no spacing between the core and the fan itself, what you're doing is wasting your time by cooling only that area of the radiator. Hence why Id like to switch over to EL-AU twin thermo setup, they have a very efficient shroud and are quite tough units. On top of that I will be wiering in a thermo switch reading temperatures from the return pipe as it is where the heat is comming from not engine (as stated above). Main reason behind me doing this is 1. ive had 2 fan clutches go on me and one has ruined my water pump. 2. it frees up some space 3. engine revs a bit better without the drag of the clutch fan i dont particulary care about number 3... but its other two that are important. I will be picking up parts before weekend and will try get some pics of the setup and installation/results after the weekend.
