did you get his badge number? report him. exhaust too loud while car is off sucks, ive been done for that and bov couple weeks ago. my experience has taught me, next time you get pulled over or talked to by a police officer, pull out your phone, turn on the voice recorder and leave it on. If they ask, its on, it stays on and if they don't like it they can speak to your lawyer.

Just wanted to thank Ryan again for doing my 100k service earlier today! The car felt completely different afterwards and there is no more flat spot anywhere. His work is tops and he knows his shit! Highly recommended if you want to get some work done, and hes got a pretty sweet mini soft top too haha cheers again mate, really appreciate it!

heres some US talk on traction control button and mention of few gearboxes moving on to a better place, or worse. I don't think I've seen it posted anywhere before

Trust me, motorcycle restrictions are just as stupid. Theres nothing stopping me from jumping on my shitty 250cc sports bike and taking it up to 200. all it takes is a slightest change in road conditions and im dead. Im not saying restrictions should be lifted as they got their Pros too but restricting people WILL NEVER change their attitude towards it. Not to mention that if you're a tall f**ker and want a sports bike, its lots of pain and cramps, not to mention how safe it is having a over sized person riding a undersized bike. but that's another story. Also SLED on a note of having "no chance" in a underpowered pos car making you not wanna do stupid things, i do see where you are coming from, but a young driver who just got his/her license and freedom vs. an experienced driver who has a beast sitting in the garage are two different things. You might not get the urge to do anything stupid but I'm sure as hell they do. All of my friends that got their licences some years ago thrashed the crap out of whatever they got, one of them still does. And by no means were/are any of those cars quick off the line nor something to rave on about.

Another good idea for all those that drive around with mods that you know are, or fall under guidelines as being legal, print off a copy of ADR's and keep it in your glove box. But when you are explaining it to the cop be polite and understanding as no one likes a smartarse.

has anyone gotten through regency with the bov housing plugged. as in running no bov at all? or does it have to be there?

I know the sound, I've heard it on a couple r33's that Ive checked out for my mate. It sounds like its coming from the timing belt cover. Either the cover itself or something inside it. Both cars drove perfectly fine but it does put you off buying the car. Sort of sounds like an expensive noise to fix.

Well Defected Again, Dosnt Look Good This Time..
SkyHi_33 replied to Fugi's topic in General Maintenance
ouch, lucky you're not in SA... After they find that the parcel shelf has been cut in any way your car is blacklisted. Never to pass or be re-registered again. Ive only heard of one person getting it fixed and engineered and it most definitely wasn't anywhere near a cheap exercise. But that's SA for ya... -
Key Stuck In Ignition - During Auto To Manual Conversion
SkyHi_33 replied to Hawker180's topic in General Maintenance
as above, i don't think it should keep your key in, just doesn't let you turn it... that's on a 33 tho. -
that would be your BOV... I have r33 that does the same thing, ive adjusted the bov and it helps a bit, but still does it once or twice. I cant get my hands on a stock bov which is even more annoying.

Should We Put A Stop To Organised 'regular' Cruises
SkyHi_33 replied to Cubes's topic in South Australia
Well, i know this doesn't stand for a huge amount of people, but for those that upgrade their hardware to a certain extent more than often have track days in mind. Not everyone falls in this category but a lot of people cant afford a purpose built track car for their hobby and like to upgrade their daily driver to something usable at the track. Lately however it is evident that these machines can fall in to wrong hands, especially imports. I agree with trying to work out something with the boys in blue, I'm pretty sure most of us are sick of being labeled hoons etc just because of our taste in cars or our hobbies. If you want to be a tool on the road, then face the consequences, as simple as that. I personally wouldn't mind having police present at cruises or meets (not that I've been out on any with SAU yet) but as far as popping bonnets for doing nothing wrong and targeting sensible drivers is concerned.. its just not on. However in saying that I can understand un-roadworthy tyres or lights not working etc etc as they are pretty basic and important safety bits. I say work something out with the authority (as long as they're willing to sit down and make a solid contribution), as if we keep playing the hiding game its just gonna get worse from both sides. If you guys need help etc with sorting this out I'm willing to contribute but I might not be as knowledgeable/experienced as a lot of the other members. -

Hehe familias ftw! My old tx3 turbo was all stealth, black piping, black cooler, even had rubber hose sleeved over some stuff... looked like any other tx3. Got pulled over many times, not one defect. But yeh this sucks as i even posted in WTB section that im looking for factory recirculation valve the day it happened. I tried talking to the cop and being as nice as possible.. no go. I'm not a fan of bov's and really don't see the point in having one apart from the fully hektik noise they make. I do have some plans for my car but it will all still look factory and stock once its done. btw, how much is regency gonna cost me? Ill get everything sorted this week and try see if i can get away with just cop shop although i doubt it.

From what I know, Hi Tech is run by John Keen who used to (think he still does) race professionally and has worked on many race cars over the years... Always see race spec porches in his workshop and some pretty mad imports. So as far as the workshop goes they have a pretty solid reputation. Give them a call and ask to talk to John Keen himself, pretty sure he'd be able to sort it out and give you plenty of feedback. He doesn't beat around the bush and is very straight forward with anything mechanical. But beware, his work isn't always the cheapest. But guess that's the price you pay for quality mechanics.
