  1. I went openin night, few days befor a few HSC exams. it was well worth it, didnt stick around to see the new farrari, and thought the bently's were much better looking. evo 9's kicked, i wanted get in one but wasnt allowed . then came the scooters!!! more in my price range, some were pretty nifty to
  2. Maybe this sounds stupid but with some dash bord modifications could this be done in an R33, and perhaps to give it the edge make it collapseable. i mean as in making it open and close like a lid or something? <--- i think that would be very interesting to see.
  3. can you get a 98 r34 for cheaper than 19k? i mean the resale value in a private sale would be pretty decent?
  4. yeah i took my car to the mechanic in my local are and asked him to do a oil change and to change the filter. anyways i got home and spoke to my naighbour whos and aircraft technician and he showed me how to do all the stuff myself. i went under the car to check the filter and it turns out that it wasnt replaced at all and that it was severely bent outa shape. it took me a solid hour to get it off. this mechanic is old and he really doesnt remember much about anything so i cant hold it against him
  5. I cram, i line up the 4 cans of red bulls stay up till 4 sleep till 8:30 rush to school. its all good. english was a breeze lets hope all th other will be to. Woot go general maths!! I doubt i will get a UAI higher than 75 and that if im lucky, you guys are prolly much better lols and far more apt for schooling than i am. Good luck to ya'll again. Holy crap its 3am!! damn daylight savings!!!
  6. whoa, man its scary to think about loosing such a valued possesion. i dont evan have one yet and im allready scared but u know allways keep the tire rench handy! i have a friend who owns and 98 commodore and he was telling me the he was being tailed by some guy in a old ford, so after about 5mins of cornering he pulled over and sure enough the guy in the for pulled over. so my friend got out with a massive rench and ran up to the car and be for he knew it the ford was out of there! so yeah my advice be weary of ur surroundings at all times. i think it would be pretty easy to avoid a rear end if your keeping guard of busy streets. maybe its not im not sure.
  7. yeah, i know how ya feel jus thinking about it pisses me of. and to top it all off i had to sit in the rta office for 1 and half hours while the recon they were printing on the licsence. imo the whole world is against pplaters!
  8. Heya, maths tuesday and history on thursday (i hate leni reifenstahl!!!) then history again on tuesday, legal and IPT in a row its all good. its been swish so far, relaxing to much tho. ah well good luch to you all, yet to do exams! woot port mac for a week, heres to not remembering much!!
  9. yeah, i called a guy at RTA and asked about this. basically with out telling the entire story is that, turbocharged deisels and turbo 4 cylinders are allready expempt, and that my work doesnt provide a car (the ppl i work for a really really cheap.) my excuse (which i was told is a valid one) is that; a) its a family car B) my family takes care of my grand parents and its too small for them to get into (covers why cant use the old car) C) i gotta get to work and that i cant keep relying on friends and family giving me lifts. that is what i have been told on several occasion by RTA people. i found all this out by reading the application forms and calling the RTA. so technically its not for getting to work really "fast" as you so eloquently put it but being the only car thats accesible. the RTA arent so totally unreasonable. besides if they deny it you can allways take them to court.
  10. I know it's allready been said but damnit those GTR rear wings look sweet
  11. yeah that sounds good i dunno i still have to wait until feb-mar b4 i have enough $$. but thanks for ur opinions, they are all highly valued. so cheers have a good one
  12. from what i have found in my investigations about the RTA and the law reguarding skyline GTST's is that its not totally illegal to drive one. basically i was talking to one ex highschool teachers (i kept in touch with my puta teacher cuz he's crazy and brews his own beer!) and mentioned i was hoping to get a GTST but being on my p's its "illegal". he said that the govt cant exactly stop some one from driving a turbo car if its the only one thay have access too. so i investigated this further and found out that you can get exemptions. lukily for me my job relies on my car, but one of the only decent reasons is work. so i applied and yeah. its all good. hope this helps. no more of those stupid modifications i hope
  13. the only thing that ruins the pic is the little brittain pic... omg that engine is sweet. lols i dun understand yen lols
  14. Im surprised that guy "nigel" evan owns a skyline!!
  15. Yeah, i was looking to precaution in theft prevention, which is allways better than cure (or getting the car back or never getting it back at all). It seems like a good idea to remove vital wireing. or get a removable stearing wheel, how many theives would think to bring their own wheel?. and the peist de resistaunce a tracking device hidden deep in the depths of the engine or maybe under lining or something. hope this can help some ppl, as this is what im planning on doing when i get my line.
  16. Haha yeah so true. it does look like very nice car though. I would have to agree that it would probobly keep its value unless the government turn around and ban p-platers from driving altogether
  17. yeah i looked at that and theres no turbo skylines above 93 that isnt a 4door. but damn it seems they have banned just about any decent car :s and yeah im inclined to agree being inexperienced. but im sortof worried about not getting worth out of the money, will it sell more more than i payed later on down the track with stricter p'laws?
  18. im pretty desperate i mean the excel 4cylindar just doesnt cut it
  19. personally i have allways like the GTR rear wing look into that
  20. Hiya, i edited the image. i lowered it and added a dif tribal image that in my opinion suits the car and looks quite shmick
  21. Hiya, im new here and dont want to push my luck or any bodys buttons and get flamed for asking noob questions but... im a p-plater and and computer techy (i know its lame but hey it pays well!!). atm i drive a hyundai excel '98 model. its zippy but i dont know what zippy and whats not zippy because the only other car i have ever driven is my mates 98 (ironic) commodore which is aiight but i have had an obsession with lines ever since i was like 14-15 when my uncy drove me around his. im looking to trade it in. its insured for about 8k and i paid 7.5k for it so im thinking i can sell it for 6 maybe pushing 7 if im luky (i think the timing chain is about to snap tho lols ) ok so thats enough of my life story im sure ur bored by now. basically im looking for a skyline r33 94-97 (im not sure about 97s i seems to think ppl are gonna say "naw theres problems with these" etc and im fine with earlier one just that i like the look of the series 2 front bar (i think that maybe its a bit noobish as i dont quite understand the whole series 2/ m-spec thing though i heard all skylines are m-spec). i have basically given my self untill late feb of next year to get one (money reason im tight whith cash). is it worth getting a GTST and letting say mum drive it till im of my p's and take it out on weekend or watever? or is work a valid reason to apply for an exemption becuase my work requires me to tracel alot from business to business sometimes they can be more than half an hour away and i can make multiple trips in one day. also i called the RTA and they said if the skyline isnt on the list then i can drive it. are the cops tight arses with this? so yeah im looking to spend around 15k nothing over 16 tho other wise its not an option any way thanks for the tremendous amount of patiance, cheers all
  22. Yeah, im new to the forums (just thought id mention incase i say summin stupid) but from what i gather getting a car PC set up is A) cheaper especially when u make it urself and B) easier to install but is a bit more risky in that some things can go wrong quickly with hard drive crashes if its not secured properly. and also start up is an issue as it is slow and it is running of car batt (or so i believe). and one thing to keep in mind when making a pc for ur car is that only put in things which are neccesary and nothing else, it'll just wast power. them aim is to get a balance between funtionality and power usage. well thats my 2 cents on car PC sets ups, have a good one
  23. yeah the exact same thin happend in nsw, as most would allready (speacially ppl in NSW ) im in the same situation i recently got my red p's (p1's) and checked the RTA (who deal in roads n shit in nsw) website for prohibited vehicles. r33 gtst wasnt on it so i called up the RTA and they said if it isnt on the list then u can drive it. but im still cautious as it says turbo's so yeah. and basically if you can prove u purchased the car befor you the laws came in i think the restriction may not apply, at least thats the case in NSW.. Have a good one
