  1. have you tripple checked the basics first? drop the exhaust at the dump, check the cam timing is 100% right, just because the timing marks line up on the timing belt with an RB30 doesnt mean its right if you are running the relocated idler/tensioner
  2. parts are cheap, paying someone else to fab everything up isnt.
  3. no, you would expect the higher compression motor to make more power for the same boost and start making its boost earlier, however if you are running the turbo out of flow then you may end up with similar peak power figures given everything else in the engines are equal.
  4. thats a compound turbo setup, the S14 engine bay is already smaller than the skyline one and you want to put 2 turbos in it plus the plumbing and multiple wastegates to get a compound setup working?
  5. as long as its going to be dedicated e85 or race fuel the extra compression is going to make a massive difference to when the turbo comes to life.
  6. stick the money in the bank as you go instead and let it earn interest. IF you still want to do up a turbo car after you get off your P's then you have the money there to do it or you can put that money to use some other way if your mind has changed. someone once gave me some good advice, buy the cheapest car your ego will let you. the more expensive it is the worse it is if you wreck it or parts break.
  7. i dont like that pipes chances of surviving a long time or staying done up properly going from cold - red hot - cold etc
  8. the big cost will be labour, the gasket itself isnt overly expensive. ring around and get some quotes.
  9. r33 racer has previously posted the thread and fitting required to put a line/hose from there. i have one fitted to my engine, due to its location you may need to grind the manifold plate for clearance and i would suggest running a solid metal tube for reliability
  10. it could very well be a shit batch of fuel. its an easy and cheap thing to test.
  11. neither of the two you have mentioned. link, vipec, autronic, haltech, etc
  12. boostworx have put a barra in a skyline, it was an r33 though so more bonnet height as they are a BIG engine. the exhaust being on the other side of the engine will cause issues if you have to pass it back to the passenger side, being race only you could just run it out the side by Modding the chassis rail to give extra clearance.
  13. or as it supports it, turn on the antilag, cyclic idle, and remove the brake booster or get an electionic vaccume pump. lag is now a non issue
  14. wtf did they do to the specs of that turbo to make it only pull 230kw at 18 psi
  15. mine has a miss around those revs also, the miss is there on the dyno but its not there on the street. have you tried driving it to see if the miss is still there?
  16. no, its still silly. a GT35 on 18 psi will easily break 300+kw.
  17. setup your suspension properly, remove the massive camber, subframe bushes to make it squat.
  18. bump it up i should probably clarify, asking 20k also listed on carsales http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12560009
  19. what mafia said, you want to regulate the pressure though, you dont want to be pumping 100psi into your intake. a valve from a car wheel/tyre works well and just pump it up like a car tyre. if you cant find it with soapy water, try and get some smoke into the intake and see if you can see where its coming out from.
  20. you may find you run into space issues trying to fit a 22" long muffler under it, 18" is already taking it close to the axle/diff in mine.
  21. just shove the biggest muffler or mufflers under it you can, 16-18" x 11-12" x 6-8" on the back with your existing middle muffler, if its not quiet enough make the middle muffler bigger, hotdogs don't do much in the way of noise reduction and your 5" rear muffler isn't what I would call a big muffler. my 3" exhaust was legal (90db as tested by the rta and my engineer) and my 3.5" exhaust is just the same or quieter. the loudest thing when you put your foot down is the pod filter/Turbo.
  22. I have run the snow performance nitro Meth in my system, its basically like a small Nos shot when the system comes on, instant power increase. mine starts injecting at 8psi and full flow at 25psi, you get the initial surge as it comes on boost and then a second surge shortly after when the wmi/nitro meth kicks in.
