  1. even the older ones all had 0.5 ar T04E compressor housings unlike the generic garrett offering which has a 0.7ar T04S housing.
  2. you also have to keep in mind the XR6 GT35's run a smaller compressor than the standard garrets and max out earlier, most wont make 400kw.
  3. no, thats the response of GT35's with 1.06 rears. i know, i have a GT35 with 0.82 rear on my 3L.
  4. wont be the cams limiting your setup to 300kw unless something is set wrong. 394kw on a GT35 and stock cams. yes cams will help at that power level but they wont stop you going past 300 like a wall.
  5. dont expect to be on full boost until 4000 or later with that turbo, or for your power goal a GT30 with 0.82 rear will have you on boost from 2500-3000.
  6. weak. i did 1000km for the putty road cruise, canb> meet point > putty road cruise > canb
  7. that coating of grease helps it seal when closed see if your idle is hunting a bit or higher than normal now
  8. depends on the tester, mine reads 160-165
  9. weather looks ok at the moment. all the rain is going past and towards the coast.
  10. 92-93 @ idle (~900) 89-90 @ test revs (~4000) RB25/30 engine so the RTA only asked for test revs for an RB30 standard 45 degree 0.5m nsw rules i do not have any restrictor plates or other such temporary noise reducers in the system it was taken in exactly how its driven every day
  11. mine pulls off 89-90db. its borderline but its a pass, the VIC system where it has to be below 91 from idle to test revs and back it wouldnt pass. there is just no way to get a large pipe legal at low revs there isnt enough flow for the mufflers to work properly even my massive mufflers only manage 92-93db at idle. on the back its a 18"x11"x8" offset -> centre 3.5" straight through and a 10"x8"x5" centre > offset 3.5" straight through in the middle. the more gas you pump through it the quieter the system gets, there is more road/wind/engine noise cruising around at 3000rpm than there is exhaust which is fine by me. when i was looking around i was asking about custom made to order muffler sizes it adds a bit to the cost as the mufflers are $250-400 each depending on size and material (stainless vs mild steel) and then you still have pipe + flange + labour costs. the way i look at it the bigger the muffler you can stuff into the masses of space on the back the more ground clearance you can have from the middle one. i really wouldnt be going much more than 5" high in the middle as thats pushing it though.
  12. i have 3.5" from dump back (4"dump) with two big mufflers in it, meets NSW noise requirements and for the most part is custom. most of the jap exhausts start at 3" just after the cat then expand from there and or have reducers before the mufflers (if you want it to not sound like a straight pipe you need lots of muffler a cannon on the back is going to do next to nothing) i spent a long time looking around for off the shelf options aside from racepace you are pretty much left with giving the car to an exhaust shop (or have a friend that can fabricate it for you) and getting a system custom made with as much or as little muffling as you want in the pipe size you want.
  13. as above venom 100cel and im putting just shy of 400kw through it.
  14. after you buy a few 2nd hand ones you might as well have bought a brand new one. after blowing a few more you might as well have got a PPG or OSG gearset installed and not have to worry about it.
  15. who are you talking to?
  16. thats more like a blown headgasket issue.
  17. you have to spec the G4 up to get the 7 bar sensor its not standard, standard vipec skyline plugin comes with 3bar anything post july 2011 from what i was told recently (2.5bar pre july 2011) the map sensor is soldered to the ECU board, it requires a vac line be run from the inlet plenum into the cabin and to the ECU. it doesnt matter what inlet plenum you have unless you change it post ecu install and tune. MAP is sensitive to engine modifications if they improve engine efficiency they throw the tune out.
  18. wont have the car until saturday some time.
  19. im in the Almost 400kw club Forged RB30 (9.3:1 comp) Stock RB25 head bar valve spring upgrade Greddy intake & Q45 TB GT35 98 pump fuel + WMI 4" dump - > 3.5" the rest of the way with two large mufflers 394kw @ 26psi any more and its blowing out spark
  20. i did my full 3 years with the same set of P plates. by the end of it all i had left was the red P on the rear one, the plastic had fallen to pieces and the paint was holding it together.
  21. how is the cost saving of a brand new 2.6 crank going to make it more bullet proof than the 2.8 kit? either way you are getting forged guts (rods and pistons + brand new crank)
  22. a large capacity baffled wet sump or full dry sump should be considered if its a serious track car. the costs vs a rebuild if it spins a bearing is worthwhile.
  23. he got caught you see it in the 2nd video.
  24. with the height of the turbos how are you going to close the bonnet?
  25. or they are running -11ty camber to fit their 20's with +-0 offset under the guards.
