  1. a tune that spits flames out the exhaust when you lift off or change gears.
  2. How big is the exhaust? My 3" is NSW rego legal and i dont have a large middle muffler its just a hotdog and a 16x11x6" rear muffler, if its 3.5" on a 33 a 16x12x8" muffler is about as large as you can physically fit on the rear 18" long at a squeeze. if you really want to just add a middle muffler i took some measurements and you can fit a 17x8x5" muffler (offset/centre for the inlet/outlets) The people that are saying you have to get a decent mid muffler are the ones that want to have a cannon muffler sticking out of the bumper.
  3. does this mean you figured out what turbo you are going with?
  4. proengines did the final assembly and that was over a year ago, these problems have only started in the last couple of months. the catch can vents to atmo and the 1 way PCV valve is connected and functioning as it would from the factory. The turbo (3582R) has a built in restrictor, there is however also an aditional restrictor before the turbo as that was thought to be causing the oil to push past the seals (this issue has been fixed the whole drain from the turbo to block is 3/4")
  5. is there any way to check the oil seals in the turbo without pulling it appart? i have had issues in the past where the oil drain had a 5/8" T piece in it (which has since been replaced with a 3/4") to allow the VCT oil drain to enter the sump. however the oil wouldnt drain away fast enough which caused the oil to backup into the turbo and force its way past the seals.
  6. i have an off the shelf 16x11x6 oval muffler and a small hotdog 3" straight through and is 89db @ 4500rpm, 92db @ idle.
  7. i was using motul 4100 10-40 and have changed over to some thicker castrol 10-60 before posting in this thread for the first time, between then and now it has used ~3L of oil.
  8. the ASR 6.5L wet sump is only $800 surely their dry sump pan will be similar or cheaper than that.
  9. if thats directed at me, all the plugs look fairly similar and none have much carbon etc on them.
  10. i have noticed recently with this that it only seems to use oil when running on the caltex E-Flex ethanol fuel, while running on this fuel there is a significant increase in the length of time i can hear piston slap as well. i have been switching between the two fuels recently, however i will give it a few tanks worth on just 98 and see if the oil usage continues or not.
  11. my report had all of this and was done last year, it sounds like they are just trying to reduce dodgey engineering reports where they havent done everything that should have been done from the start.
  12. i was out there on saturday. seemed ok to me. few pot holes here and there on the way down. maybe you should raise your car off the ground so it doesnt hit on every small bump troy
  13. they must be running big turbos for 4500+. my GT35 (0.82 rear ext gate) can pump 18-19psi @ 3600ish
  14. how are you going to keep all the heat away from everything?
  15. its not quite just a case of slapping a 45 degree bend off the back of the turbo. it may seem like there is a lot of room but there really isnt when you start sticking 100mm pipes in there.
  16. mild steel and yes single turbo however i can guarantee that there is a whole lot more metal in my dump pipe than in the little twins
  17. my locally made dump pipe is 4" and was all of $500 inc external w/gate plumb back.
  18. uh do it on your front lawn?
  19. its right next to the apple nerds.
  20. thats got to be predicted flywheel. the GTX35 flows about the same as a T04Z and thats not capable of 920@ the hubs.
  21. expect the stock turbo to nose dive hard after 5500-6000rpm.
  22. which is why i suggested a semi crushed 4-5" pipe. if you are really worried, make up a bash plate for it.
  23. petrol also eats rubber, which is why you use fuel hose instead of standard rubber hoses in your fuel system.
