  1. what was the result of the test? did the gutter pass?
  2. last i saw it wasn't going to be dry sump. but if he doesn't want to say what pump he is using im not going to spoil it. (unless the setup has changed from what it was originally on that engine?)

  4. he is running a map based ECU there is no AFM to play up.

  6. do you have any vaccume leaks? they can cause a high idle with a MAP ecu. if not have you tried taking the idle control valve off and cleaning the carbon/oil out of it? does it only idle funny when cold? or it still has a high idle when at operating temp?
  7. have you thought about going some higher compression pistons (around 9:1) if they are avaliable off the shelf, not much money for a nicer off boost drive.

  11. from memory it had just been raining and what looks like bubbles is the water drops on the rear bar
  12. just remove the yellow hose and connect it there.
  13. the turbo has oil feed and return, they need to be facing straight up and down respectively it may also have water feeds on the sides of the core it doesnt matter as much which way they are connected. are you sure the wastegate isnt stuck open? is there a spring in it?

  16. the best thing to do is check your speed against a GPS system after changing rim/tyre combinations if you believe its going to be out.
  17. if it is valve float you run the risk of the pistons hitting the valves and destroying the engine. though you are unlikely to get valve float at .8bar on the stock turbo unless the valve springs are shagged. wrap some electrical tape around the rubber part of the splitfires just to rule out that its arcing out, does the problem dissapear with less boost? what is the PFC reporting knock at?
  18. put up a video/sound clip of the noise. engines can make lots of different noises.
  19. if you like using an ignition cut limiter and smashing the thing off it. dont bother. if its a street car that sees the odd fang sure its a good cheaper alternative to the nitto/jap pumps which cost 3x as much.
  20. soo. i am thinking of making my exhaust consist of two hotdogs and no large mufflers, should sound pimpin. will bring the large muffler that makes it street legal spec too incase its too loud for the track.
  21. this is the track at the hill climb, you pretty much just use 2nd and 3rd.

  23. you cant be serious about the nankangs, they are good for a burnout and thats about it.
