  1. did you bother to check that this thread is over 4 years old?
  2. evo in for a service?
  3. is the new turbo a GTRS? double check the bolt patern on the back to make sure.
  4. you can PM him on here ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/pr...ines-m8303.html ) or call him if you want 0448 826 256
  5. just tell the tuner to tune it to as much boost as a safe injector duty/AFR will allow.
  6. from memory it was much easier to go from underneath for the bottom two.
  7. strictly speaking you are supposed to get it degassed using the proper machines so it doesn't vent to atmosphere. the elcheapo at home method is to just losen off one of the lines and wait for it to all leak out
  8. do a search there was a topic on this not long ago. its a cheap china copy of a turbo model from the 70's just spend the money and do it properly or dont bother at all because you will just complain later that its not the same as the branded ones for 1/3 the cost.
  9. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ti...mp;hl=dayco+152 that tells you exactly which belt and took 20 seconds with the search function.
  10. better than a stop watch yes, its mainly the GPS trace of your laps that takes a hit using the internal gps and the timing is closer to being within ~0.5s as they only update once a second vs the higher end bluetooth ones that update 5 times a second, though that gives you an excuse when you go off the track it was the GPS being random not you
  11. standard RB26 water pump here. they all do a very similar same job and shouldn't make much difference which you go with.
  12. racechrono is better, you dont have to have a silly iphone and its free does the iphone allow use of an external bluetooth GPS receiver? none of the built in GPS units are particularly fast and you get a much more accurate lap/stats using an external one.
  13. either way the 2860-5 turbos have before and will in the future roll off 400+kw @ the wheels.
  14. you might scare all the other participants away which would kill the fun a little, though winning by default is still winning.
  15. Nope for 500hp the twin 2860 -5's are fine. Stock manifolds and dumps on the R34 are fine too. R33 onwards also have the extended oil pump drive from factory. You can even use the factory oil and water lines. (basically everything bolts up nicely and looks stock) You have to remember that to go a single turbo you have to buy new exhaust manifold, turbo, probably external gate (if you are going to the effort of going single why not), dump pipe, front pipe, intercooler piping, intake piping, oil feed + drain, and finally water lines. Go the twins, its cheaper and gives just as much power as the 35R
  16. Use a spanner then or the crazy spanner bits that go onto a ratchet (i forget the propper name for them). That's what i used to undo/do mine up.
  17. not with you behind the wheel.
  18. hint hint, WMI + high comp pistons = win.
  19. no wonder you have reliability issues. build one properly so it doesnt break after 3 days.
  20. ATI or Ross harmonic balancer Larger sump Oil feed restrictors x2 Extended oil pump drive New water pump If you haven't already you should look into larger radiators and oil coolers for reliability on the track. that being said if the current engine still works why fix what isnt broken.
  21. with a few grand and overnight parts from japan. on a more serious note, with a good GPS receiver it is accurate to 0.1 second of the proper Wakefield timing gear.
  22. or you could just install this on your phone. http://racechrono.com/
  23. Time to find a new machinist matt, who ever you are using sounds massively dodgy.
  24. if you have to or its cheaper than buying a working 30 just buy an old vl/r31 with a running engine. pull the engine out and call simms metal or ezy scrap to take the car away.
