  1. not unless you can remap the ecu or replace the ecu with an aftermarket one.
  2. remove cross over pipe to the throttle body, remove coil/spark plug cover. use a screwdriver/small socket set to undo the coil pack bolts. change them over and put it all back on.
  3. does the car have an aftermarket ECU? i dont think the SAFC supports larger than factory injectors.
  4. 1. check the PDF in the first post of the RB30 sticky. it has that info. 2. as i said it is a massive difference between the 25 and 30 down low the saying "theres no replacement for displacement" rings true. Both the R32 NON VCT head and the R33 VCT head should give the same compression. that being said the R32 head is a simple bolt on the R33 head needs some modifications for the VCT to function and to stop oil/water mixing. 4. The stock RB30 is probably 1mm also but RB26 stock gaskets are easy to source as production wasn't stopped nearly 20 years ago.
  5. most of this info is in the RB30 sticky. 1. Series 2 VL block. 2. the extra capacity makes a massive difference to how it drives. 3. every thing from the current engine but substitute the RB30 bottom end instead of the 25 from your current engine with a couple of small modifications everything bolts on. (though its recommended to replace the water and oil pumps while its apart) 4. use a stock RB26 1mm head gasket to maximise compression. also use the 3076 over the high flow, you will probably find the high flow runs out of legs around 5000rpm.
  6. http://www.tradingmarkets.com/adv.php?ref=...sel-867606.html i was just reading about this when i went to get lunch. great idea finally a big company making a push to get it rolled out in bulk.
  7. my 044 isnt audible. its all in the mounting.
  8. that is nsw or vic doesn't apply here
  9. just weld some extensions onto the top cover (this is what was done with mine) and you barely notice it once it is all painted up.
  10. i would have thought the balistic blankets would be better for that than 1/4" steel plate.
  11. take the spark plugs out and see if the bore/s are full of coolant.
  12. do you have a dyno run you can put up?
  13. probably a tig welder, i have seen one weld aluminium foil.
  14. i actually used the stock R33 GTST sock on my 044. haven't had any issues with it so far
  15. pull the dump pipe off and you will know for sure.
  16. Later on when the pump starts getting lazy and your engine starts leaning out and melts your rings/pistons the $500 wont seem like it was all that much.
  17. possibly something to do with them moving the server from the USA to AUS
  18. the 3.75" one is probably quite loud, and loud = attention. more often than not the wrong sort.
  19. it screws on like an oil filter would.
  20. pod filters a fuel soaked fire hazard. o lawd.
  21. its got to have the full works if i want to keep the turbo/ecu on there Duncan. Now i need to figure out how to get it to Sydney, tuned for the EPA test, pass the EPA test and then back to Canberra without paying a fortune in towing costs as the car doesn't have any rego or number plates
  22. neo comes factory with a little bit larger turbo and more power anyway.
  23. he has an R34 turbo and a NEO engine. both of which you dont have
  24. as long as i get the car home before midnight i can take it out. after that it has no more rego for a while
  25. The oil drain is pointing straight down and there are no kinks in the line (mostly stainless pipe), there is a ~1mm restrictor in the oil feed line (had no restrictor in the oil feed line so it was seeing massive amounts of oil (3-4mm feed)) The bearings seem to be fine (turbo takes 20+ seconds to spin down and stop when you switch the car off from idle) they could be flooded but my main concern is sometimes when you load the turbo/engine up you get a MASSIVE (you cant see anything behind you at all) cloud of oil smoke out the exhaust that lasts for a good 30 seconds-1 min after you take the load back off the engine/turbo (eg pulling from 140-200km/h in 4th)
