  1. the great thing about NSW is that the emissions testing is not expensive, you just have to get a tuner that will tune the car to meet the test requirements.

  3. this is the way mine was shortened, seems to be working fine so far. a bicycle shop should be able to sort you out with a fitting to clamp the cable.
  4. if he is using 93 i assume that he is in the USA? if so that's equivalent to our 98.
  5. the age rule does not apply to a change of the bottom end as all the emissions stuff is in the head (or connected to it) and the tune which remain the same age or newer than the engine that was in there it is in essence the same as using an OS Giken RB30 kit except the block already has the spacer plate integrated from factory.
  6. my engine is running 1mm restrictors in the middle and rear and a bundy tube feed for the VCT from the oil pressure sensor (RB30) and i haven't noticed any lifter noise apart from just after initial startup before oil pressure has risen to operating pressure
  7. both are around the $1100 mark for a standard T3 flanged manifold. an advantage the ETM product has over the 6boost is that they are laser cut to suit both RB25 and RB26 stud pattern. which is handy if you wish to sell the setup later on.

  12. and if you get an upgraded actuator ( http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=665 ) for the internal gate there shouldnt be any issue running the same boost at significantly less cost.
  13. there is no point in putting an external wastegate on your stock turbo.
  14. pro. sounds hektic when it makes loud bangs if you dont have a cat it blows flames con. can smash your oil pump drive gear to pieces blows flames if you dont have a cat which will get you defected makes stupidly loud bangs when you hit it which wakes up anyone nearby that may be sleeping
  15. as we said in your other thread, if you want low down punch put a supercharger on instead.

  17. there is no banjo connections. Its just a speedflow fitting into the turbo
  18. the best way to get bottom end power would be to supercharge it.
  19. my car is currently blowing a fairly decent amount of oil smoke which is believed to be either the valve stem seals or the turbo seals. looking like the turbo seals at the moment as it happens when on boost but also for a while after you back off (excess oil in the exhaust burning off?) however the turbo has less than 2500km on it but it only seems to blow smoke if you rev it past 5000rpm, could it be that there is too much oil going to the turbo and it is forcing its way past the seals? (GT35R only running the factory restrictor in the oil inlet on the turbo) would i be better off installing a smaller restrictor in the oil feed to the turbo?
  20. it is entirely possible to have a street legal 30. they have been done before and will be done again if the car came standard with a 2.5L or 2.6L engine the 3L falls within the 20% capacity increase. combined with emissions testing and an engineers certificate for the modifications you have it is a legal mod. (though this is affected by which state you live in vic and SA seem to be the hardest to get it done in)

  22. they are the rods in my engine (which you put together) you did comment on them being a different bolt but i dont remember which model bolt you said they were.
  23. its not lazy its smart, the more parts there are in common the less parts you have to keep a stock of as spares and the better prices you get on bulk orders.
