its not necessary to balance the engine but i got mine balanced when i got it built (for the price i figured i might as well) to +/- 0.05g and the engine feels like it just wants to rev, though it only has a 7400rpm limiter on it at the moment.

you cant use the GTR rods they are too short for a 30.

while you are at it you might as well get the bottom end balanced (should only be about $250 or so for a shop to do it)

you can use RB26 crank, rods, and pistons. but you will only see a 60-70cc gain for the additional cost.

so install aftermarket cruise control if you want it that badly.

no, valves are a head off job especialy if its broken one or more, you have no idea what it has done to the piston/bore. you are thinking of valve springs which can be done with the head on.

check the dump pipe and pipe from the turbo to the intercooler for oil. possibly an oil seal issue in the turbo. -
yes you could run 7 on the laptop. would i recommend running it with only 1gb of ram? no.

what about the fan that bolts onto the front of the water pump? if you have that put it back on and see how you go.

There may have been a little boost. i saw a left lane ends sign and didnt want to be stuck behind it untill the next overtaking lane, what i missed was that there was about 1km of overtaking lane left

hi to the silver 33 i ended up following all the way into wollongong (sorry if i gave you a scare as i passed that 4wd towing a car on picton road) 950km round trip, 2.5 tanks of fuel a little over 1L of oil and lots of fun.

the plugin model runs wasted spark (two coils fire at once) i have not had any issues with this setup as of yet.

the MFDs map sensor is completely different to the apexi boost control map sensor. There shouldn't be any issues other than the boost display not showing up correctly on the MFD
