  1. there are a lot of daily driven cars with 2.7/2.8/3.0L engines in them, the extra off boost torque comes in handy.
  2. the engines that are killing N1 pumps, how well balanced are they? fuel or ignition cut limiters? regular limiter bashing?
  3. go the 3k 2.8L, there is no replacement for displacement.
  4. i dont like your chances, an RB25DE head from an R32 will set you back ~$500 and then you want a reliable running RB30E bottom end which is ~$100 but then we get to the expensive bits. exhaust manifold, turbo, modified exhaust, new gaskets, new intake piping, ecu tune/remap etc. it all adds up quite quickly.
  5. I was just going off what their website suggested (from what i saw it made no mention of selling individual sheets) went out to repco and they manged to find a sheet of the stuff on a shelf out the back.
  6. id be up for it. How much would you like for fuel/tolls?
  7. That DCI place sounds expensive by the looks of it they offer a cad designed specially formed shield i am only after a single sheet i don't need it mass produced.
  8. i tried supercheap earlier this week and they didnt have anything. I need something to shield the abs lines/abs unit/wiring in the corner from the heat off the dump pipe as there isnt much room
  9. i am currently looking around for some ACL heat shielding ( http://www.aclperformance.com.au/prod_heatshield.htm ) but i have not been able to find anyone that sells it other than one listing on ebay (which isn't the size i am after) Does anyone know of a shop that sells it?
  10. they need to leave them in a cell for a few days with "bubba" so they can get friendly (i also like the middle east approach to theft an eye for an eye and a few fingers for a car). i wonder how many more cars they will steal if it means they actualy get punished.
  11. if thats all you can find to pick on the ecu about then id say they are doing a pretty good job of it.
  12. you could also try advanced transmissions in mitchell.
  13. for a 34GTT install is required. the map sensor lines have to be run into the engine bay and the intake temp sensor installed.
  14. Give greg from proengines a call. he can explain the details of the kit to you. Phone: 0448 826256

unless it is running a tiny exhaust housing (which then defeats the purpose of going a large turbo) a T04Z is not going to be giving you decent boost at 3k, on a 26 you are looking at full boost around 4500-5000.
  16. spotted an engine coming out of my car and a new one going in.
  17. you will probably find its cheaper to just use the neo head. why reinvent the wheel?
  18. he is only looking at changing one muffler not the whole system from what i see.
  19. no R32 came with a factory RB25DET it has had an engine swap or an NA to turbo conversion. either way if your wastegate goes directly to the intercooler piping you have no boost solenoid.
  20. Go to an exhaust shop and get them to put on a 14-16" long oval muffler instead of the cannon. it probably wont look as pretty but it should make it close to legal.
  21. you have had an engine swap done? the boost control solenoid could be anywhere. you need to give people more info if you want them to help you.
  22. possibly mark/michele?
  23. You can trigger multiple things off the one switch for example i have launch control and flat shift off the same switch (i used the factory clutch switch rewired) in the software there is a 6 second time delay on the clutch being depressed and launch control activating then the switch also works normally for the flat shifting. The only other switch i have wired in is for the dual fuel/ignition map switching. if i want to turn anti-lag on i would have to do so via a laptop which isn't a big deal assuming you weren't switching it on and off a lot.
  24. if there was no benefit from VCT it wouldn't be put on basically every OEM engine produced these days.
  25. why? the neo head uses solid lifters so there is no cam issues and the valves are the same size, it just requires some modification for the ITB/twin turbo exhaust manifolds
