  1. it suppresses detonation / lowers intake temps a little, the methanol is what raises the octane level, ideally you want to run a ~50/50 mix of the two. there is no point shoving a WMI kit on there unless you are going to tune the car to make use of it (like running your mothers starlet on leaded race fuel just because you can when really all it needs is 91 ron) edit: Have a read of this. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=937176
  2. John, mine was less than 3k way less if you take out having to replace 5th gear. Smurfs blood (redline shockproof) worked for 2 years before 4th started crunching again but it never fixed/worked as a temp fix 1st and 5th.
  3. if it is running the stock ecu you cant tune it appart from a twist of the cas to put more timing into it. it will also be running very rich.
  4. the problem with "repairs" on a skyline box is that everything is press fit onto the shafts in the gearbox. so to get to the 2nd gear syncros you have to pull everything for the first gear off too etc.
  5. i had my gearbox rebuilt recently, Advanced transmissions in mitchell (Address: 3/86 Hoskins Street, Mitchell, ACT. Phone: 02 62410567). was going to be a 2-3 day turn around but my 5th gear needed to be replaced turned out to be a 4 day turn around including sourcing the replacement 5th gear. all brand new genuine seals, bearings and syncros. works like new.
  6. thought that was you but wasn't sure.
  7. i would throw the car on another dyno for comparisons sake as there might be some dyno figure fudging, because that's 20-30kw more than 99% of -7 setups make.
  8. mine didn't go over Dickson, they said because it only had very basic mods (exhaust, pod) that it didn't have to.
  9. did you get the sprung center or solid center version of the jim berry clutch? i was very surprised by how easy mine is to use compared to other heavy duty singles/twins i have tried.
  10. not great pictures but you get the idea. fairly simple and easy to mount plus i get to keep the ashtray should i ever find a need for it.
  11. are you including the cat in your estimates, because that xforce system has one. its not that bad a deal considering its the complete exhaust from turbo back.
  12. my car has an xforce exhaust on it, not that loud and fairly easy to fit if you have the right tools, the studs/bolts on the back of the turbo are the most awkward part, jacking the car well off the ground makes this much easier.
  13. generaly 11-12L/100km (all short trips around town car barely gets up to temp), worst i have ever managed was 73L/100km
  14. it wasnt all that cold.
  15. i have had a set of the yellow jacket coil packs from performance-wise in my car for over 6 months now without any issues at all.
  16. its Friday 24th of July Danny.
  17. but then they would have to have been using launch control on the Porsche also to keep it fair.
  18. launch control, flat shifting and anti-lag need switches wired in to the digital inputs on the ECU to function, other than that its all in the software setup.
  19. depending on heat you could also be melting the rear bar etc.
  20. have you complained to them?
  21. argue that yours is a 32 and thus not a chick pulling car like the 33 has proven itself to be.
  22. check on your providers website, they generally have configuration files that can be SMS'd to you and you run that and it automatically sets the phone up for you. ie. telstra http://configure.telstra.com.au/telstra/index.jsp vodafone http://wireless.vodafone.com.au/
  23. you fix that issue by installing a cat and having that burn up most of the fuel.
  24. the knife thing only works while running silly.
