the spacer was for the brake clearance, i was talking about tire to guard clearance.

that only fixes 2 of the issues, strut brace and VCT.

all im saying is its a lot more work than some make it out to be.

child restraints must be in the car, children or not. pod is fine as long as its securely mounted.

not so much for the front the rears are where you need to check/get some extra space, possibly do the bolt mod

just so we are clear, you are aware of the following because of the height difference. Intercooler pipes wont fit, need to be modified. exhaust wont fit, needs to be modified. stock turbo is too small chokes HARD at ~5500 (you end up with about 80kw@ wheels by 6500) intake pipe will need to be modified unless stock/flexible ish front strut brace is unlikely to fit car it came out of was probably automatic, dont forget to change the spigot bush in the crank or you will f**k your input shaft bearings in the gearbox retaining vct isnt hard, just needs some bundy tube and some patience to run the line from the oil pressure sensor feed. probably some other things i have forgotten since doing it.

dare you to just install it as a single cam, for the lulz and reliability.

guard to tire, has to run the 8mm spacer to clear the brakes too with that wheel design. and once you take the 8mm spacer into account they are +14 offset. 235/45/17

i found clearance was getting quite tight with the following setup. 17x9 +22 with 8mm spacers

preload adjustment nearly maxed out from previous owner running ~34psi on e85 through their turbo. i wasnt sure if i needed to back it off or not, but quite obviously i do and have done that this morning. will give it a test this afternoon and see what it does with about 3mm worth of preload instead of all the preload (backed it off a good 5mm or so.)
