  1. i got mine done at craved coatings. the state it was in when i sent the manifold How it looked when i got it back
  2. lol. no. -5's are not as responsive as stock, -9 are similar, -5 is always going to have more lag.
  3. 14" long and 5" high is going to be a problem for a middle muffler. you want to stick around 3-4" high if you want to avoid bashing it on the ground/driveways and 12" long with single exit or less if you want twin pipes out of it or you have to mount it stupidly low. have you measured what size you can fit under there? why not simply make the rear muffler larger instead as there is a lot more room to play with there and height isnt an issue
  4. the 3540 isnt overly expensive, compared to some of the smaller ones ie gt30's. have you thought about going to a 3788? slightly bigger but uses the large frame bearing cartrige and T4 housings. good for 450-500kw at a stretch. or pickup an ex BA/BF xr6 turbo and change to the normal garret housings?
  5. big straight through mufflers wont drop your performance. with only 200kw out of a 3" exhaust you arent even close to pushing the limits of that size exhaust. get rid of the varex, put on a 16x11x6 muffler at the rear and if your car has a hotdog already fitted it should be very close to legal noise wise.
  6. That was probably me as i did go down there around lunch time
  7. remove rocker cover, take somewhere to be hot washed and have the hole welded up if you want it blocked, a bolt in the hole doesnt give a fantastic seal and will leak.
  8. your oil filter will have an anti drainback valve in it
  9. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SY4080 that one should do the job.
  10. if you are in sydney. chris from craved coatings. i dont think he does rim repair though.
  11. anything with an oval mid muffler should be reasonable, anything with 3" all the way though will be fine for that power level, going bigger will make it louder. if its got a hotdog and a cannon expect it to be loud and drone like a bitch at motorway speeds. if like the ones you have linked it has an oval middle muffler and a cannon rear expect it to be reasonable and unlikely to have horrid drone while cruising if its got two oval mufflers expect it to be fairly unobtrusive.
  12. they don't give my car a 2nd look. if your car is very flashy and loud you are asking them to look at you in the first place, then you get angry that they do look at you.
  13. mine has had the coating on there for 2-3 years and 20,000km or so.
  14. craved coatings did mine too, after a couple of dyno pulls the exhaust housing was measuring 300c on the surface (manifold and housing ceramic coated a cast iron/gunmetal grey colour inside and out)
  15. do you have the hks housing? why not just use that?
  16. you will find its the oposite, everything on the intake side of the engine (under the intake) is now harder to get to and work on. i have and have had the greddy intake for years, prepare to swear at the car any time you need to do something under there.
  17. other than it just being a carbon copy of the greddy item?
  18. if its a reinspection within the 30 days of the initial inspection they can not add more to the list, only check what was failed before, outside of that 30 days you are free game.
  19. it doesnt matter which one you use as long as its for an R33.
  20. if its quiet AND has two big mufflers its probably got no restrictors if its quiet and DOES NOT have two big mufflers its probably got restrictors.
  21. that side of networking is all done via telnet text commands, its not everyones cup of tea.
  22. on the track is a different story, expect the car to drink it in that scenario. as its only on when you are on boost and around town thats never an issue as you cant be on boost for long periods, on a race track however most of the time you are out there you are trying to keep it on boost. for a car thats street only, a small tank is great. the more track use it gets the bigger your tank should be or you will be filling it after every session.
  23. 8 gallons will last you a long time. expect to go through ~2L a month or less for the average person
