  1. not sure about redline speed but 3000rpm in 3rd = 60km/h in my car
  2. I'm using the batmbl (bosimporting) split dump + front and its a good piece of gear. If you compare the wastegate piping with the JJR one and the batmbl one you can see that the JJR one has a pretty tight 90degree bend in it whereas the batmbl one has a gentler bend. Probably wouldn't make TOO much of a difference at said power levels but either way, straighter piping would flow better.
  3. why are they not coilovers? look like coilovers to me....the spring coils"over" the shock
  4. Yeh i found the thread and its not quite the arm but i was close
  5. Theres a thread about GCG turbo's dropping boost It was something to do with the wastegate actuator arm That could be it edit: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...html&hl=gcg
  6. Pm'd order and payment made Did you receive it? Cheers
  7. Stolen from wikipedia - "A coilover is an automobile suspension device, short for "coil (spring) over strut". It consists of a shock absorber with a coil spring encircling it" You guys are thinking of adjustable coilovers ie: tein's etc where you can adjust the spring seat to lower or raise the cars ride height Standard suspension isnt adjustable. The only way to lower standard suspension is to change the springs. And theres a thread about why its not a good idea to run lowered springs on standard shocks, because they aren't designed to sit that low it greatly reduces the life of your shock absorbers.
  8. Hey mate, does the sub have 2 or 4 ohm voice coils?
  9. shoot haysey a pm, he can point you in the right direction
  10. sounds about right get a split dump and front pipe to help the turbo breathe better in the upper rev range
  11. Yeh its a pretty fiddly job if you've never done it before. Especially if you don't have good tools (good quality ring spanners and breaker bar) since there's not much room to work with. Getting it off isn't so bad but getting it back on again (properly) is a bitch A decent mechanic should be able to do it in 2hrs comfortably. 3hrs max (including lunch) I paid about $350 to have my timing belt, idler+tensioner, radiator flush, water pump and some other fiddly bits done and that was 9hrs worth of labour..... so $550 seems like a bit of a stretch to me
  12. You could bypass the cooler and put the oil filter back onto the block and see what the pressure is? At least then you know if its the cooler or something else
  13. Arent the ssqv's adjustable to some degree? Maybe it needs adjusting to open at the right pressure
  14. Those readings do seem a little high. From memory the manual says it should be ~1bar at idle and i think 3-4 bar for anything over 3k rpm Maybe the fittings on your oil cooler are a bit restrictive, hence the higher pressures
  15. Twin plate clutches make rattling noises when you're idling since u said it goes away when you push the clutch in it could be that or a bad bearing
  16. you wouldn't happen to have a twin plate clutch would you?
  17. Radiator fan hitting something maybe?
  18. Good luck trying to get 18psi out of a stock r33 turbo
  19. Get under the car and hit the cat with something and see if it rattles If it does then thats your exhaust wheel If it doesn't then your turbo is fine, get another mechanic
  20. Well ive ended up with the noltec adjustable arms because for some reason the std arms with noltec bushes wont fit back in the car. Despite being pressed in as far as they will go. Looks like i'll be going with the bilstein/whiteline combo too
  21. This stuff is still for sale guys
  22. cef11e does them good ones too and toshi i think
  23. the series 1 r33 afms are the same as the r32 series 2 wont work
  24. Well up to now ive done 0 track work. so its not really a major concern at the moment i'm more worried about getting the car roadworthy again and since im going to be getting new stuff i might as well get the good stuff first go. i'll probably go with the bilsteins since they've been valved and set up specifically for 32's im still not sure whether to get the fully adjustable arms or just new bushes for now since it still doesn't look like i'll be doing any track work for a while.
  25. Does anyone know of any places that have pre reconditioned steering racks? Mines needs an overhaul but getting one already done seems easier
