  1. Crude maybe... but I use no washer, just clean it with solvent then use carefully applied thick bead of silicone around just under the head, and don't do up too tight. This has worked for me for about 6 or 8 changes now.
  2. Cool. That's what I was hoping, thanks.
  3. Thanks wolfie Did you need to change top or bottom spring seat?
  4. What was the outcome of this? Can the stock spring seats be used on the front and rear with the billsteins, or are different ones required?
  5. Hi all, I can't believe a search of this thread for "NEO" turns up 0 results! Just trying to find out, if having an adjustable exhaust cam gear on a NEO engine is an advantage? Or even if it would work at all? Because I will be changing heads soon (:S) so the opportunity is there to fit a cam gear (and maybe an upgraded timing belt too though mine is OEM and < 20,000K's old).
  6. I considered WGN-C34 thought that would be cool... doesn't give away the car name etc. People still left wondering what it is lol
  7. Well, in a pinch, you could always ring Mike at MV Autos in Adelaide, I'm sure he could post one to you in a few days. 1 Stirling Rd, Blackwood, SA 5051 p: (08) 83700430 Has done quite a few stageas, replaced the shift solenoids (A & B) in mine. I *thought* the replacement rack includes shift solenoids A and B?
  8. Impressive Tangles. Is your bottom end stock?? lol. Just wondered 'cause you were spinning it past 7,000 revs... does it mind that?
  9. yeah not just a question of cooling capacity (alloy w/big external cooler will cool more yes) but it's also important to not have *too* much cooling capacity when it's cold, with no way of heating the transmission fluid up to minimum operating temperature (which is what the stock radiator does - Rob explained it well in post #6).
  10. HAHAha well there you go, I learn something new every day!!!
  11. Yeah or get it re-cored I guess; that is what I always thought I would do. Cause for a new stocker it would probably have to come from Nissan who would probably charge the earth? Pity we don't have something like Natrad in Australia... Maybe a re-core would be doable though just gotta ring around (same as a new radiator as I understand it; they replace the fins/core. although stag radiators have plastic end tanks, not sure if that makes a difference).
  12. Pretty nice-looking dyno sheet there Warlord... would love to get my stagea's dyno sheet looking like that. What stopped you from going higher than ~15 pounds? Ah ok cheers. I didn't know 230rwkw was possible on the stock fuel pressure *and* injectors What was the limiting factor with your last tune on the 500's? Surely not engine internals yet...?
  13. With GCG hi-flow of the standard NEO turbo, I got about 14PSI with no boost control edit: using stock plumbing with non-earthed boost control solenoid.
  14. You beat me to it re. the missing heat exchanger on aftermarket radiators Rob. I wish we could just buy the cheap alloy radiators from Just Jap etc.... but none of them cater for autos. Good fix with the thermostat.
  15. Yeah Mike's the 'wheel man' around here...
  16. Yes shift kit & upgraded servo, definitely recommended. I just got my standard S2 cooler relocated to behind the driver's side wheel/under the headlight; according to the transmission place it was big enough for my ~195kw atw and high-stall convertor .
  17. Cool I wondered about a rear-facing camera instead of / as well as a rear view mirror; perhaps using one of those rear-view mirror mount lcd displays. Sounds like you're all set.
  18. Looking awesome How close is your canon to collecting a speed-hump @ 340mm?
  19. Hey that's a *nice* setup TJ! congratulations. Looks stock too which I LIKE. The fold-out screens are great for that. I would've kept my cd stacker probably if it worked a bit better. Could be a little flaky at times with some CD's (more just the nature of CDs I think). So what functions does the Kenwood give you - I am guessing DVD's and digital tv? What is the resolution of the display like? You get a reversing camera hooked up?
  20. Thanks Gerard I'll see if I can decipher it... It's a job I will have to get around to SOMEtime, but for now I have just stuck with the xanavi 'cause it looks cool lol Plus I have gone off the idea of an LCD monitor in there a bit since I had a bit of trouble with heat trying to get (or rather, keep) a car PC going. So for now I have just kept it simple...
  21. Hi all, Changing headlights in a S2 is a 20 minute job. Recently I converted back to xenon lights after I managed to get hold of a set of xenons at last. It's only taken me 18 months since mine were butchered at compliance! So I have my set of original xenons, minus the ballasts (they took them at compliance). They are in average condition, but still with the electronic-leveling (which works off the switch by your indicator stalk, if you have this switch). Plus they've been converted to halogen and still have all the factory sockets so you could plug these straight in and remove your xenon setup, before your car even goes to compliance so that you won't lose your xenons. ie. swap these into your S2 when you import it to save your xenons once and for all Here are a couple of pic's: R/H side, front & back views: L/H side (passenger side), front & back views: ...the box (790mm L x 300mm W x 260mm H @ 6kg): The lights are in the box & packed as my new ones came to me from Japan; wrapped in bubblewrap and packed in newspaper (but Aussie paper not Japanese ) Let me know if you're interested either here or via PM... Edit: Add price to this post too... $50, located in Adelaide. thanks DaveB
  22. Awesome stuff thanks Tim. They look like adapters??! Rare as... edit: wholly sh*t, it's $463 and counting... if only we could get the wiring diagram!
  23. Rodney's sounds like the best job. Or, to put a target on things price-wise, the R34 ones JustJap have apparrently fit (here). That's $150.
