  1. ah thanks
  2. Ah ok. RE401, that's us...
  3. Interesting... is that the tiptronic?
  4. /\ /\ /\ /\ Don't know if this helps but the tiptronic will stick in third when it goes into its limp-mode (different to the ECU limp-mode). It can be something as basic as loss of power to the ignition circuit which causes this; I had a similar issue with my S2. My auto 'box is running great currently, and has been for about the last 15,000K's or so. However during the time I've owned my S2 (almost a year), it has cost me about $1,100 in gearbox work. ~$650 of that was for a new solenoid rack. I pity you auto owners without a place like MV Automatics (which we have in Adelaide - hehe at least we have SOMETHING) to go to when you have a problem like this. I thought the 'box was a goner but Mike had the diagnostic gear, took the car for a drive and knew what was going on. If you can find a good specialist anything is possible...
  5. Got any pic's of the box so I know what I have to fit in my engine bay?
  6. Sounds interesting Adam... but my lights were butchered by the guy at the compliance workshop... have you got any pic's of the actual globe mount, so that I could check if it looks like it'd fit?
  7. Hi Dave, sorry for the delay; I do need a set of those handles please, if you still have them (from the roof of the cargo area, that you clip the cargo barrier into - pic below). $40 posted?
  8. That's right - always an inner and outer joint; in effect 2 CV joints... hope they're not selling half of an outer one either. Thanks for the tip on the public holiday - that may explain the slow replies.
  9. I've sent the seller a question... will see if he has any in stock for series 2.
  10. Thanks Robert, I'll check that out.
  11. ah ok. I will need to get one for my driver's side boot (weeping) and I don't know if any of the CV places in Adelaide will know where to get the part cheaper than Nissan genuine. Gonna try a place in Edwardstown.
  12. Hmm wonder if R34GTS-T rotors have the right offset and could be machined down? Would be a bit of a waste of diameter... but they are now available in the RDA group buy
  13. perhaps:... save until the financial situation recovers a bit, and the yen gets back on the sunny side of 90, then import through a good broker and buy your grey import "in installments" like I did? ie. first you pay the broker fee, then FOB/shipping, then the freight (couple hundred), then compliance, then rego etc. It could still take a while to pay off each stage, but at least after the first few stages it is sitting in your garage and you can start working on it, or start selling off any goodies it came with that you can't get through compliance/don't want etc. I dunno. Can see that you have a much much tougher time of saving than I had saving for mine, but as they say, the cheapest car you own is the one you pay cash for...
  14. Sorry is that joints or boots?
  15. Been running mine since Christmas 2008. Pump is at least as quiet as stock, can't hear it in the cabin. As the others have said. btw whoever said they can get one for $240 with 'fitting kit'... last time I checked the SAU group buys the GSS-342 from Slide on SAU comes with everything you need to fit it to a stagea for $195 delivered. This is where I got mine. Btw I'm currently making about ~185rwkw (auto, so over 200rwkw in a manual) on about 14PSI with gcg hi-flow neo turbo and tomei FPR.
  16. I'm running a Walbro GSS-342, it's a 255LPH/500hp pump and Boostworx fitted it no worries in my series 2. Had it fitted and tuned the same day. The pump cost me $195 delivered from Slide on these forums see here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wa...albro+fuel+pump. Can't remember cost of fitting but should be around $100 maybe less. I would recommend getting a workshop to fit it, however the walbro comes with good instructions and all the bits you need (new wiring harness, clamps, fuel line, sock/filter etc. etc.)
  17. Good find! An Aussie Dixcel distributor Although I would want at least slotted rotors, but at $400 even the *retail* price of a group buy on slotted rotors on these forums for R34 GT-T is nearly $50 less than that... personally I would upgrade but the Dixcels are still an option for those wanting to save the extra few hundred to buy calipers and get brakes fitted & bled (and probably to get the calipers rebuilt). I notice the site you posted has a set of R34 front brakes (calipers and discs) for $600. So hopefully it is possible to pick up a set of calipers only for say $300 and get them rebuilt for ...??$ Then get some slotted (or slotted, grooved & dimpled) R34 GT-T RDA rotors through these forums, a set of R34 braided hoses through another group buy on these forums and you're all set. I would guess that with pads though it's around an $800 exercise if you fit it all yourself... with a workshop for fitting maybe $1,000 all up? Getting expensive. And that's just fronts... rears add another $600-700 for the same exercise? *guestimates*
  18. Yep, go figure I think there might be something special about the GTR callipers... although this might just be that they're painted gold I'm unsure Think the pistons might be larger with a bigger pad.
  19. The ultimate solution, yes. Unless R34GTR ones are bigger or are a direct fit? Of course if you change calipers too, you don't have to go GTR - even GTST ones are 4-potters apparently.
  20. Yep, exactly my thoughts, and it sucks but I don't think there are any, except for places direct from Japland like Dixcel etc. If you replace calipers too, and solve the bolt problem then R33 GTST rotors can be used (do *not* machine down diameter) or you can *probably* use R34 calipers and rotors... but wait for the verdict on those from someone who has done it first or see if you can borrow a set and test fit.
  21. Yeah anything R33 GTST won't fit the stock caliper/hub combination; they will machine down to the same circumference (remove 3mm off the radius, a reduction in diameter of 6mm) however offset is wrong. Too shallow; binds on the inside pretty badly. Same would go for all stock size R33 GTST front rotors which are the same type/size, I would assume, regardless of manufacturer/part number.
  22. Thanks for that will see what I can do. Now that cheap S2 pads can be had for $80 it's kinda tempting to stay stock... but I at least want braided lines and I guess that R34 pads surely aren't going to be more expensive than S2 stagea ones.
  23. Awesome stuff, thanks.
