All excellent reasons... didn't realise the competition carried so much weight! and these are cars with (apparrently) much newer technology... especially the Audi RS6 I would expect more (or rather, less) from. second the space over outright handling anyday... besides, u don't wanna corner too hard and spill 40 cases of wine! -

whoa, that's a win for the stag - you have an R34 skyline and you still want a stagea as your daily? that's kinda the same thing but with a lot less weight and considerably better handling isn't it? -
thanks for the writeup KiwiRS4T My RS4 is with MV Automatics in Adelaide today getting just that done (and a valve body upgrade ) which is a fairly reputable place here in Adelaide so I hope they at least drop the pan (well it's getting a service and they said they're fitting a new filter so I assume they'd have to drop the pan) I asked about flush/fill and they said they only refill the pan ( !) and only flush the rest of the system 'if the oil looks like it needs replacing'. Hmmmmkay.... for $300 for a service, like you say, it better be a good job (although for a complete refil I would expect at least $100 of that to be gearbox oil cost alone).
-
fingers crossed it does...

/\ 2nd that On a side note, you mentioned changing the brake fluid? What is your procedure for bleeding the stagea's abs system? the compliance shop mechanic told me they had to be vacuum bled. Is there a way it can be done at home?
-
gee, that does sound like fun... sounds like they're gonna fix it one way or another though... /\ reference by someone else to the accumulator... best description of it I have. I don't have access to FAST at the moment but I remember the picture of the ATTESA assembly showing the pressure switch as an apparently integral part of the accumulator (kinda a storage reservoir like on the inlet manifold but stores positive pressure I guess, so that the pump doesn't have to work full-time) which in turn seemed to be an integral part of the pump assembly itself... will try to get hold of FAST and that diagram. But yeah, looked hard to replace... probably would have to drop the diff at least (bolted to the top of the diff' I think Duncan said).

Hmm just thought is machining available? ie. I need to get the new rotors machined down by 6mm OD (these will be going on the front of a series 2 Stagea); can this be done by RDA or should I just get it done locally once they arrive? Cheers! DaveB

Hi, Could I have a quote on R33 GTS-t front rotors (slotted) please? Thanks DaveB
-
The accumulator... interesting! So is that not part of the actuator motor that you just had replaced? Are you guessing that because it's the last thing left? Very interesting... since a few of us have error code 77 (pressure sensor), that would add up. Please keep us posted

Set Of Woodgrain Trim Pieces (excl. S/wheel)
DaveB replied to DaveB's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Here's an updated list All these parts were removed from my S2 prime with 88,533 on the clock, and I think the prices are fair considering what I've paid for these trim pieces in silver: Buyer to pay postage please, should be $15 max for even the larger items within Australia, let me know if you want registered, express etc. * woodgrain centre console aircon vent surround with stagea writing & emblem (fits above stereo) - good condition, $50 * woodgrain stereo surround (xanavi style) - good condition, $50 * woodgrain ash tray - good condition, $20 * woodgrain tiptronic gear surround, bare except for cigarette lighter socket, rubber square around shifter hole, and a small 'knobbly bit' which is barely noticeable on the crease of the cigarette lighter socket (probably ciggie lighter related, I'll get a photo) - good condition, $50 * woodgrain cup holders (mount in centre console under radio) - good condition, $25 * woodgrain driver's side door switch plate, without switches - SOLD * woodgrain passenger door switch plates, without switches - good condition, $25 for all 3 That is all the woodgrain pieces that were in my prime edition when I got it, except for the wheel (which I have swapped with a woodgrain fan on SAU smile.gif ), and would give your S2 a complete factory-standard woodgrain interior. Please note that to the best of my knowledge the tiptronic gear surround will not suit series 1's as theirs is different (no tiptronic). I think that the rest of the parts will fit series 1, but I can't guarantee it... recommend you try a search here first or ask someone. Feel free to ask for photos, I have a digital camera and I'm not afraid to use it... Cheers biggrin.gif Dave B -
Sorry can't help with the N15 question (but very interested to know the answer)... but do the genuine (nissan) pads squeal when they get low? Or do they just grind the disc? Got some genuine pads so might take photos for prosperity while they're still in the box. They look already used... there's some material 'shards' around the edges of the pad surface. Look pretty serious though.

Set Of Woodgrain Trim Pieces (excl. S/wheel)
DaveB replied to DaveB's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
woodgrain driver's side door switch plate, without switches - good condition, SOLD ERK, I can't edit any of my posts?!? Any mod's who can help out here? I would like to edit the first post to let people know what has been sold Sorry you've had to read this far to find out stuff's been sold guys -
I had a similar issue with my series 2; thought that only the passenger side pipe was flowing because that was the one where the vapor cloud came from when it was cold. Turned out though that that's just the path of least resistance, if you will, and just more gas comes out there. I verified this with another series 2 muffler (thanks Oxford ) when I tried blasting some compressed air through; I could feel more coming out the passenger side pipe than the driver's side. I think it might have to do with the way the baffles work.

Stagea S2 - Aftermarket Dump Pipes
DaveB replied to ssshonky's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Intersting, cheers for that -
...ah was thinking WTF until I worked out that must be $NZ!! Yeah I think that the price of fuel might be starting to hurt the resale value of turbo imports

Argh, Anyone Else Hate Blind Spots On The Stagea?
DaveB replied to zoomzoom's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah had to get the round stick-on blindspot mirrors, they helped a lot. But so many curves all over the place, I dunno, for some reason I find it much harder to see out of the stag' than the old bluebird (which was styled very "box"). I'll get used to it though I suppose. -
Welcome Dave! For starters I'd suggest www.importmonster.com.au Regards, DaveB

Yeah, I would bet the loom's not even there (never seen a spare plug back in the centre console), I was working under the assumption that one would have to run wires oneself. Edit: Front torque sender comes from the ATTESA computer itself, located in the rear left-hand side of boot, need to go through the whole deal of peeling carpet back. Only one wire to trace, and it's listed in the workshop manual. Oil pressure or temperature (not sure which one, I suspect temperature) sender is located in the oil cooler/oil filter mounting bracket, front facing. See picture here. There's no boost sender from the ECU but tapping into the boost sensor unit itself (firewall side of rocker cover(s) may be a simple task. Then again, it may not...

I've been researching stag prices on the online importer sites & mailing lists for ages and ages and I think this is about the best I've found, and it just appeared yesterday. So not everybody is looking for the combination I was after: - FULL days kit (front AND rear bars) - silver - leather (preferrably Prime) But here it is, with (almost) all the options: http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=12946 And it's under 12 grand delivered. Are fuel prices biting big imports, or what??? That's a flippin' bargain Would've bought this one if I hadn't bought my pearl white one already - white was a compromise for me, I like silver better but hard to choose between them I think, both awesome. ...just my daily auction opinion
-
So Messanic did the new ATTESA pump assembly fix your clicking problem?
-
If you have a Series 2 then the senders are there for oil pressure and front torque split, you just need to run a couple of wires. And obviously volts will be easy
-
Awesome stuff, congratulations Adam I remember that feeling... was about 3 months ago lol About the $92... you say it is worth it (and I think it is too, paying say $20-30 more per week to drive such an awesome car), but the question is I guess.... will we both still think so in, say, 6-12 months?
