Thanks guys... first i think i will pull the seats and do a full shampoo vac of the carpets & roof lining (which I have heard traps a lot of the smell). Will let you know how it goes... DaveB

Can you tell us more about this feature? Can it do something more than simply sms the gps co-ordinates? This hints at a feature like: can establish a gprs connection to an IP address you specify (running who knows what protocol/software) and upload *live* data. If that's the case, I'm in...

I know it's late but thanks for that I will probably do this soon for my new series 2... just want to drive it for a bit first to get a feel for the standard suspension and to see what I need.

Hi all, So, as the topic says, I have done a fair bit of searching on S2 Xanavi unit to standard climate control conversion, and I am just after a final clarification on the working of the standard climate control unit in a prime edition which came with the Xanavi. Has anyone done this conversion in a Prime Edition, which had a Xanavi unit before? I am ready to chuck my Japanese, but otherwise pretty awesome, Xanavi unit in favor of an aftermarket LCD, and I want to be sure I won't lose any functionality (apart from the GPS and TV which I don't care about). Anyone know if there are any functions I will lose, say for example any aircon controls I won't be able to access anymore? Sorry if this has already been covered, I have read through everything I could find on the subject with the forum search. I have discovered that apparrently the standard c/control unit will plug in in place of the Xanavi and will take over running the climate control, but I don't know if a) it will work in a Prime or b) there will be some other functionality which I will then be missing. Anyone know where I could find some QT1 touch-up paint in or near Adelaide (SA) ? ...can you even get the pearl white in touch up? Kind-of an interesting finish, all metal-flake and all, don't know if you can 'can it'?

Some good info... not sure if I'm gonna keep the Xanavi at this stage or not, since I can't read Japanese It does look cool though and has lots of functions, and I like the colour climate display. Looks like I've got a smoker's car; ash tray used a little (but not heavily) and cigar smell; gotta check that filter probably black

Anyone know how to get cigarette smoke smell out??? I got it pretty bad... heard it gets into the roof lining...

Where do the VTR2 video inputs live in a standard S2 Xanavi setup? Are they in the boot?

Dropped my S2 off at the compliance workshop and he had another S2 in silver which was being delayed by about a week to wait on his pad supplier (right here in Adelaide!) to get in more stock of the rear pads... I asked and he said fronts were in stock, and a complete set (front and back) was about $300. This was for Nissan genuine pads, and he only changes them if either- - they don't have enough pad material left and/or - they aren't genuine Nissan pads for what it's worth...

Had a look at mine the other day and it looks kinda like the series 2's have a trans oil cooler standard (a "proper" one, not just a loop in the radiator), mounted on the driver's side in front of the condensor radiator. Can anyone confirm?
