  1. haha yeah dude, i get what you mean For the back parcel tray, if you have spacers, make some new ones up, I have 1cm thick MDF spacers to suit my 6X9s you just trace over the top then stick it down and cut to suit
  2. for the fascia, do you mean the door card and the card for the rear panel? that are glued on fabric? I'll be recovering both of mine and sticking the new ones over the top but for the old ones, i think you use rubbing alcohol or something similar to remove the glue? let it soak for a bit and it should just peel off, mine came off easier because it had melted in the sun
  3. oh weird, mine seem to be ok, the string seems to be very strong, i will be using Selleys Kwik grip water based adhesive though meant to be the best for installing vinyl covers I'll do my fronts this weekend and my rears, when i buy my new rear seats did anyone elses come with the Ultimate label sticked onto the outside of the seat? It's not too bad, although i might rip mine off, because it's white and sticks out like a sore thumb
  4. Wow, fast as shipping apparently they have arrived at my house already :S 11am today :S Can't wait to see them, will post pics up tomorrow

  6. yeah definitely and cheap as chips over here, much cheaper than a skyline anyway...
  7. Perfect chicks car, I know heaps of girls over here who have them, if you've got a girlfriend and access to one, get her one mine was about to, but got a corolla instead
  8. Definitely keen I'll keep watching
  9. Hi will you have any available for an R32 in the future? maybe a GTS4 or GTR kit? Cheers Vincent G
  10. man, can't wait got another few weeks for mine still is anyone else doing the carpet? i'm getting mine done through knox carpets, its costing me $250 incl shipping to NZ, in black, looped plush, should suit my seats nicely
  11. a swipe card reader would be pretty trick, although if you have a bluetooth phone, maybe you could set it up for something like this? http://www.gadgetvenue.com/archives/2006/0...-window-closer/ I remembered on the news a couple of nights ago here in NZ, some guy has the patent to opening and closing doors using bluetooth signals, seems like a good idea to me
  12. I guess it depends where you live as to the laws, in NZ you'd get 3 months(piss all) It's crazy, some guy had 45 convictions and still drove, ended up crashing and killing 3 others, and still got off lightly, I think with a speed addiction like that, get a honda, at least if you crashed into someone, the honda would disintegrate first and you wouldn't have to feel the wrath of the other persons family you killed...
  13. Where you installing a stereo or had one installed recently? A common skyline problem which a lot of people have is hooking up with dimmer to the ground on the stereo because it's been misread causes all the dash lights + tail lights to go off and blow a few, it's pretty funny, driving down the motorway at 100 clicks with no tail lights...
  14. Bloody awesome job dude those creases are sure to go away with a bit more sun and that sub box in the rear looks tops, thinking of doing something similar, but with only one sub, because i need to accomodate a surge tank and twin fuel pumps, awesome job man
  15. i wouldn't recommend it, i had it stuck on my center console(round hte stereo) it flaked off after being in the sun for a few months, i think it'd be worse being exposed to the conditions, especially with any rain which could get in, it'll also fade rather fast being vinyl i reckon go CF even if it's expensive damn it looks fine
  16. best option if you don't want to leave them in the sun for a week is either user a hairdryer or a heat gun on "low" setting, it smooths the vinyl straight out
  17. haha, if they didn't last that long, oh well i could just get a second hand set of seats for $40 over here so no big deal same as if it came time to sell, put the covered ones up for sale and just put stock seats back in
  18. yeah i reckon, if you take your time and pull the strings through like Trav33 said above, then they'll be all good I'm thinking of cutting off my old covers and using the strings and contact adhesive to get a more snug and permanent fit

  21. Damn, I'm definitely keen, any chance of getting a set delivered to Wellington, New Zealand? If not, I'll get a mates address in Brisbane and have it sent there
  22. damn, that is one huge job!!! but it looks so mint can't wait to see that painted up I had an R32, it didn't require any cutting or welding at all, well apart from the inner guard, A bit of a shame you had to cut the door panel to fit but oh well, you gotta make some sacrifices i guess http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-Heavy-D...bayphotohosting I had a kit like this, I'll try get some pics up soon of my job, but I ended up selling the car and kit, because I ran out of money for my GTS-4 project
  23. I had one of these type of kits, although mine was actually a full bolt on from Japan, cost me $1200NZD so a bit expensive :S but yeah my kit needed a bit of modification to the inside guard(hammer took care of it) - panelbeater should be able to do it in about 30 minutes and the inside fender needed to be cut a bit, i used a grinder to remove the inside of it and it worked fine the wires in the r32's are long enough to reach out, it'll take about 2-3 hours to adjust it to the right fit, but once they fit on, they do look good I'd definitely recommend the heavy duty gas struts, if you try lifting one with a normal strut, it's extremely hard, with the gas strut, you lift it about a cm and the door pushes itself mostly up
