Best Use Of A Subie Sti Engine ..ever.
skybarge replied to m3gtr's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Found the guy who made it: http://www.stiatv.co.nz/ Also found this: Rb20de tricycle, it'd be better with a turbo or 26dett though but still, looks like fun: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/M...2968756.htm?p=2 -
The ATI ones are here: http://www.atiperformanceproducts.com/prod...mpers/index.htm But guessing since you are going to 400kw or wanting to, for the price of the Ross one, i'd go that and spend the money saved on tuning
-
The ATI dampners are excellent, but depends how much you want to spend, Think the ATi will set you back round $1500 at the minimum, they look damn sexy though Man those ROSS ones are cheap as Might have to think about one of those instead next time, depending on how many others have good experience with them but yeah ATI for the win for me at the moment, I could be swayed by the ROSS one though depending on others reviews with them
-
Just don't crash they are illegal and if you are found with them in your car when you have an accident, the insurance company won't insure you, they'll try blame the crash on the fact that your lights "dazzled" the other driver
-
yeah man they are both low pressure, just make sure they are oil resistant hoses Ripco have them, think they charged me $10 for a meter of the smaller one last time I'm sick of mine leaking and breaking though, so I'm thinking about going braided lines into custom fittings, I've got a stainless power steering tank already, so may as well get the lines to match

I'm pretty sure I saw that at the 2005 Rotary Nats here in NZ It was towing the DOC1LE drag car, looked mint as -
Whoops didn't actually realise how rough that looked haha oh well i only just held it in with my hands to take the photos

I've got bugeye projector style but i'm going for a custom perspex cover with custom shrouds, so they'll look very close to stock Here are some teasers: I've just used the stock cover for now, but will be creating a custom shroud for the new lights and getting it chrome plated These are from a broken headlight(i accidentally melted it in the oven, whoops) The lenses/projectors in this are J30 and are only there to mock up for the moment, because my lights are still coming and I can't afford the second pair just yet, so I'll be putting one pair into one side first off Stock headlight shroud(with extra projector shroud: My test subject: Test subject next to normal lense(I'll be making a mould of that lense then vacuum forming it in perspex, so it'll be clear with no lines through it Oh and here is a video about glare one the right is standard halogen projector on the left hand side of the car is a HID fit into normal halogen projector Totally blinding I reckon we should create a sticky warning peopel about HID kits and stopping people from selling them to unsuspecting buyers

damn $1000 a litre, are you sure that's not for a candy style replica? Man i thought NIssan Bayside blue was expensive($1200 for 4L pearl) but that is heaps!!! -
yeah I'm having one replacing the lowbeam/parklight, one replacing the highbeam And angel eyes for park lights to replace the current ones, I'll post a pic up as soon as I've mocked it up but the final edition will be under wraps till November-January, depending on when I finish the car, then I'll post all the pictures of my car up, from strip down to doing up, I just don't know what it'll look like or what colour yet, but it should look wicked
-
yeah basically pull the bottom half of the seat up then remove the 2x 10mm bolts that hold the top half on would be a mission to get through the firewall hole, doable though, even use a stick, you only need to hit the bootlock I've shaved mine off, what you could do, is put in a high stop light with lockable screws(or star screws with a screwdriver that only you have) then if the cable does brake, remove the high stop light, put your finger down and flick the lock I'd just be worried taht someone might do that to mine if i did it, ScreamingSkyline on this forum has done it on his, looks very nice

man i was having a good day, now i've got that crap song stuck in my head it's a song 14-15 year old girls listen to(my sister) it's terrible man here's an even better remix of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPhfZiNZKD4

it shouldn't be too hard to fit 4 I've test fitted a set of halogen in there, off a J30 infinity(which people say make good HID retros because they have a clean cutoff) but I've decided that a proper bi-xenon would be nicer, I'm mocking it up on a broken headlight at the moment, I'll post pics in a few weeks when I've got the alignment perfect Pity the R32s have the glass covers with pits in them, but I'll be hopefully making perspex covers for them, so there shouldn't be any hot spots or glare, just a solid clear lense

Looks like a Vertex or BN Sports to me vertex isn't veilside, it's a different company: www.vertexaerokits.com They make some nice guards to go with that kit, did it have the 30mm pushed out guards with the vent in it? I've got some on mine Definitely the same side skirts as my Vertex kit(apart from the small indent) same front bumper you didn't get a pic from the back did you? The one below looks like a standard GTR N1 Spec kit The N1 bumper vents with GTR bumper, side skirts aren't geniune GTR but GTS-t M-Spec ones, Endcaps are standard Grille is GTR bonnet is standard GTS-t cut(no bonnet lip on it) Wing is fugly roof scoop is fugly mirrors are standard guards are all standard wheels are pretty fugly So yeah, only thing on that car extra is GTR front bumper, GTR style grille and the other ugly parts on it(wing, wheels, roof scoop)

I think it looks good on a cefiro, once painted ot match the car it'll look mint kind of moves it away from that taxi style look
-
Ebay or www.hidplanet.com/forums/ basically look for any projector HID lenses, usually from BMWs, Porsches, mercs, some nissans(350z, Murano) Then measure your headlight size, i went for a Murano one because it's 2.5" lense would fit inside my light(R32)

get one sided damp rid tape, doesn't cost much, find where the squeak is coming from and jam it down the side, sticky side towards chassis should work ok or if you wanted to go crazy, get some dynamat, remove the panel, cover behind hte panel with the dynamat and put it back it'll cost a bit though
-
knock sensor plug at a guess it should have 4 pins under it? on the block under the intake manifold, you'll find 2 green plugs which go into the block they are knock sensors, find where this connects to, there'll be an unplugged plug on the end, it's hard to get to with the engine in, but it can be done good luck

Kw Bingo - Guess The Power Output
skybarge replied to exitSTAGEAright's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I'm going to go for 190.4rwkw At a guess, hmmm hope I get close GO THE STAG -
Are they the projector style headlights? Or non-projector style? If they are projector style, you will have to try and make shrouds to aim the beam lower or cutoff half the beam(www.hidplanet.com/forums) but it'll still look quite crappy If tehy are non projector, get rid of them, they can't be used safely in your lights, you'll be blinding every car, cat, dog, cow, kangaroo and koala on the road If you have a later model R33 GTR with Xenon lights standard though, the bulbs should be already aligned?
-
Yeah the Monza SSQV are notoriously crap I had one on my legacy, basically sounded like a pig squealing and after 2-3 weeks it permenantly stuck shut, so i got rid of it Do the same, get rid of it and go back to stock or get a geniune Greddy or if you like the pig squeal HKS do a newer version
-
For the R33 use the BMW Bi-xenon lenses, if you do a search on ebay for Bi-xenon projectors, you'll see what i mean You might need two though because i think R33s don't come with projectors standard? I'm using two Nissan Murano Bi-xenons on my 32 at the moment, still making up adapters and waiting for the first set to arrive But it'll be 4-low beam lights on, all circular to match the tail lights then 4-high beam The bi-xenons basically use one bulb for both high/low and have motors to adjust the lense and an autolevelling motor to adjust the height Check out www.hidplanet.com/forums that's where Ronin_09 from the other post got most of his ideas for his retrofit and damn it looks good.

The Greddy ones will fit in the stock location, you'll need to tap two holes As with the backfiring and stalling, if you tighten it up enough, reset the ECU and drive it for a bit you should be fine, but even then, once in a while it can stall Also in some states in Australia it is illegal, here in NZ it's fine, but they sound pretty wanktastic so why bother, unless you are running a lot of HP and an ECU that can adjust the fuel mixture so the engine leans out when changing gear to accomodate the air rushing out of the BOV and not returning into the intake Just add a POD filter, it'll give you the same kind of noise
