    Paypal

It's a scam, stay well away. They pay the money through paypal, take the car then lodge a claim with paypal immediately saying it isn't as described etc and you get caught in a huge wrangle and paypal takes the buyers side and well you lose out. Happened to a customer who was selling his car recently on carsales. Search google and you will find a lot of info on it and people getting stung. Be careful

  10. There are so many faults with the above car cover. It says doesn't touch the car but it touches the car when putting it on and taking it off so it will scratch the car if any dirt is on the car. The cover also touches the ground and rests on the ground when he is folding it up which will then get transferred onto the cover and then onto the car and scratch it when putting it on/taking it off. My car lives outside but I got a car cover made specifically for it which is fully weather resistant and really soft on the inside for only $220, went through the whole winter and car was not affected at all by moisture, wind or anything. P.s - still sucks to have the car outside but not for long as moving to a new place with 3 car garage so 32 can go indoors and rendering my car cover useless.
  11. Closed If anyone wants to discuss why I closed this thread, pm me.
  12. Im sorry but I dont get why this needs a thread, am I missing something?
  13. This thread shows why mods close so many threads in the events section. Do not advertise or discuss public drag racing and please proof read before you post. I am closing this thread before anything else about what happened on the cruise is posted and gives us a bad name, if you have any issues with the thread being closed, pm me and we can discuss it further. 'Locktite' Mike is busy so in his absence..... CLOSED!

  15. With a paint thickness gauge, cost about $750. I detail cars so I have one, I may or may not have realised that not many other people carry these
  16. My uncle had an 02 clk (cant remember which model) but that gave him endless problems, it was all covered under warranty but as soon as the warranty was up he sold it as the repair bills would have been huge but on the flipside I knew someone else who had an 01 clk and they did not have any problems. Merc build quality really dropped in the late 90's and early 00's before picking up again after that and it was well documented, whether or not the clk was one of the models affected I am not too sure, some internet research should tell you but it seems hit and miss. I just did a quick search on google, 'clk230 review' and pages from aus, first few results were these so do a similar search and you should find plenty: http://www.mynrma.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/mynr..._car_review.htm http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...=9077&vf=18 Other things you can do, 1. Go on a merc aus forum and look in the appropriate section and search 'problems or 'common issues' etc and you will get a good idea on what to look for when buying. 2. Speak to Euro service centres (other than the dealers) and ask them on their thoughts on the clk230 model and known problems or would they buy that model, what they service costs and parts if needed etc. A place like Swiss Auto in Mosman Park are a big european service place. What I do for every car new or used car I look at or someone in my family or even customers cars is for me to go with them and measure the paint thickness around the car, if you get vastly different readings it has been resprayed and you look further into it. I am doing that at the moment for my old man as he is looking at an audi a8 but it stopped my brother from buying a 1 year old c class last year, who would have expected that to have had major accident damage but there you go. Good luck with it
  17. Guys, As Dan has said, please do not publicly post the name of the workshop in the thread. If you want to inform people of the place, please do so via PM as this is tolerated. Please also refrain from calling the workshop and qouting SAUWA and saying many people are aware of what has happened and to check the website etc in the hope of getting something to happen. If the name of the workshop is listed in the thread, it will be promptly edited and removed as per the reasons Dan has listed above, there is no discussion about this matter.
  18. Please use the search function either at the top of the page or the bottom. This topic has been covered many times before and there is a thread from a few days covering this topic and from memory there is a link in there to a seller that has very good quality gear boots in a range of colours that many other users have used and are very happy with. Cheers Thread Closed
