LMFAO bwahahahahahahahahaaha...
-
LOL... congrads mate... we all look forward to your "OMG-what does this button do?" questions. Peace be the journey

Just a side note...i found that after letting my RB breathe with an exhaust it is a lot easier to drive around off bost - thus improving my fuel economy - as i can use the natural torque of the engine around town, leave it out of overdrive around town so the power doesn't go to the slush box (lock -out torque converter) and whalla - i have better fuel economy

wheels are fine remarkably... a little more scrubbing but there was a ton on there when i first got them from a previous owner so i am not all that worried... Hasn't lost any tyre pressure over the last 2 days and no visible damage otherwise Wheover had it before me even was complacent enough to let the tyre balancing guy put weights on the outside of the mags *yuk* I expected to get out of the car and see power steering arms broken, tie rods gone and wheels poking away from the body at 90 degrees to each other... I was well overjoyed to see them pointing in the same direction and the inside of the wheel still on the rims...

'spirited' drive up a mountain - musn't have had enough pressure in the leading outside tyre - body roll - 1700kgs onto passenger front tyre whilst coming off braking (so weight was already on the front wheels) - and *pop* - chris does the 'HOLY CRAP............................." least to say, I shall avoid the 'spirited driving' till i have SK's kit, a wheel alignment and checking my tire pressure next time like i said...no real damage aprat from ahving to popthe tyre back on down the servo with 40+psi and some paint cracking on the front spoiler under flex... my sidewalls on the 16's are competing with fairy floss in a plasticity competition - espescially under body roll......*yuk* Sydney Kid... I lurves you....

i want ur side skirts

thanks guys... i just really eeded some target figures for a wheel alignment place here in Townsville... It was a quick check cause i popped a tyre bead and went off the road on Thursday night and wantwed an alignment quick smart...but it's driving straight..there isn't any visual damage to rim/tyre or arms... it all seems ok.. getting it done on wednesday now.. but at least i have some target figures now. Thank you very much Will have SK's kit as soon as i get my tax back

righto....read all the sugested threads...great guys and thanks again for saving an idiot from what i have read-stock camber can be pretty disgusting..as i am getting some wear on the inside of the tire - and other wheel alignmnet readouts have readings around 2degrees40 - i have been suggested to that i should aim for 1 degree.

haha tankles...funny... it retrieved my own thread.... thnks Luke

alright...so i go to get a wheel alignment, and after spending 2 minutes telling the apprentice how to start the car so he can drive up onto the car lift, they get started...and then tell me they have no data for stagea and can't do it..they will order the floppy disks (old machine i guess) and have data in a week... but NISSAN refused to help me (obviously..they dont have FAST JP and they don't give a rats arse) and i couldn't find SK's number. I told them that "front track width should be same as GTR33 as i think the front swaybar fits, but otherwise i have little idea (and in retrospect...i believe i am wrong in even that little detail...because didn't Grant try and the gtr33 sway ddn't fit...right?)" SO... Gary, Grant...and anyone else who has a clue... WHAT IS THE DATA TO GET A WHEEL ALIGNMENT??? Castor? Camber? etc etc... (i don't knwowhat they need to know.) suspension is as stock as a ducks guts... can't wait to get new gear from group buy after tax time ... hehehehehe bloody TSV wheel alignment boys  CHeers.
-
stock compliance tyres suck balls... my side walls roll a ton and i popped a bead doing a hill run "gently" last night.. lots of fun... just a tiny crack off the paint on the front bar..otherwise all ok (thanks for asking) but yer... going to get new tyres. Running stock rims - 225/50 R16's Nanking x500 or some garbage.

Stagea Manual Conversion Guide
captinsane replied to tRUkbOY's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
you would be correct... i got the numbers from Brad but forgot to remember that he changed his diffs front and rear so that he could get more POWAAAA And the Autech diff ratio's being different makes perfect sense creating more acceleration (if autech is 4.111 and RSfour spec is 4.0) YAY... so the verdit for me is that replace the GB and your freeway rpm remains very comparable -and is not worth whinging about I am le-happy... -

This is truth...although the autech stagea diffs are probably different -

2700 @ 110k/hr... that actually isn't too bad at all. i could even get a different ratio 5th later on if i wind up doing a LOT of highway driving (like Brisbane to TSV every few weeks). That's golden. FYI also GTR R32 1st gear ratio 3.214 2nd 1.952 3rd 1.302 4th 1 5th 0.752 most Nissan auto's in O/D (Q35, 240sx, s15 et etc so it is similar regardles of engine capacity and power etc etc) seem to be in the range of 0.65 or 0.69, if the torque convertor isn't running all over the place as you feather the pedal and lock up the TC, and then wind up boost, and then go back tdown again... I HATE AUTOS so basically the RPM and speed is perfectly fine... and the diff is fine stock for daily application... unless i want to do a BRADLEY..bwahahahahahahaha (*thinks...ahh...RB30DET torque *) AWESOME i might even get a custom 5th gear made up if i ever convert...make the ratio 0.7 or something close to that. I find that when trying to sit on 100 off boost in O/D i intermitently lock up the TC to maintain speed (stays constant at 90-95kmph and 120kmph...just not 100-110) ... thus perhaps the 0.65 or whatever in the auto OD is a little low for long distance applications. -

yeah dean... the GTR diffs are 4.11 and Stagea are 4.3 (I am sure of it at least) Brad - when you replaced the rear diff - did you replace the front also? or have i missed something - did you alter the diff ratio from 4.11 to 4.3 - your PM before mentioned nothing of it. -

If so then that is good news... perhaps the 33 4 door auto is different to the stagea 4WD auto - besides the transfer case obviously. hmmm..... THanks guys -

Yer, I got that Ur nismo gearset is a smaller ratio than standard - ie: making more acceleration... Correct? so standard GTS4 gearset with resulting final drive ratio should be OK? Are GTS4 and GTR gearbox ratio's different (i would assume they are - RB26TT power vs NA RB25) thus - the more acceleration from the GTS4 gearbox would have similar results on the whole 3500rpm down the highway drama so GTS4 gearbox would not be 'the best option' ??? Finally... GTR diffs are 4.3 whereas Stagea are 4.11 (supposedly)...so how are people not farking up their 4wd? (apart from Yokotas who has no front propeller shaft anymore ?... different crowning kits etc etc (i think they are called that)... Me and my questions....meh -

LOL So after the conversion it revs like a mofo on crack?... (AKA - my mate was right) - I just want to ascertain that if i do a manual conversion, will i need to change my rear diff (and subsequently my front diff) if i want it to operate as a daily driver with unpsycho final drive ratios. Thanks blokes. -
Stagea Manual Conversion Guide
captinsane replied to tRUkbOY's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
ok...so quick question - i have a mate who has done an auto to manual conversion on his 33 4 door and he had to change his rear diffs so that the final drive ratio was similar (IE: the auto had a different ratio to the manual - and so to avoid sitting on 3500rpm at 100km/h down the highway in 5th, he changed the rear diff) so how come some people are able to change just the box - leave the diffs the same, and no problem whatso-ever.... or have i just read 50+ pages of conversion guide wrong - I can only think that this is another reason behind changing the entire driveline at the same time. -

I would but i don't want to take it back to brissy with me later in the year - no room when i have to relocate all my belongings down there in the back of the stagea... and i got a fujitsubo Legalis with single muffler - no cannon...so i should be alright. I can't hear the exhaust over the induction noise anyway
