Buyer's Guide - The Nissan C34 Stagea
captinsane replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
YAY...buy it & boost it!!!! Don't know if there is a turbo...just look down the exhaust side and look for a heatshield popping out the side or an intercoller behind the passenger side of the front grille. when looking for parts you will find searches on here invaluable... *i love you guys* -
The Next Ecu To Dominate The Sau Community?
captinsane replied to pear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
we're just refibreglassing a mates kick panel to take care of the size issues... -
cops spotted me and a mate taking photoes of the stag in an old warehouse part of town last night... conversation as follows: "waht are you boys doing" "we're taking photoes" "oh...." *looks at car probably thinking it's just a falcon wagon isn't it...stupid kids...then gets curious* "what is it?...is it a mustang?" (obviously mistaking 2 unicorn heads for a full profile of a stallion in full gallop) "no" "is it a volvo?" "no" ...long silence... ME: "it's a nissan" "oh... ...what is it?" "it's a nissan stagea" "oh... ...i just didn't know what it was... ...is it an import?" "yes" "oh...what engine?" 2.5 l straight six..." "oh... does it go?" "it does the job" "oh... ...ok... well... " *patrol car drives off* I love my stag

JUST Curious... with all the issues us stagea owners seem to have with out ECU's having carptacularly uniquer pinout diagrams etc... why don't we just get an entire R33 loom and ECU and re-wire the bloody thing... I havn't done much elec- work, but i guess it could be easier tan mucking around with pins et.al...and then having to go back and muck around when it comes time to sell and all that other stuff... why not just do a loom swaop and then it would be swap in swap out? *remembers that a loom costs money* *remembers that he would then either have to re-solder his entire loom near the firewall or run wires all the way to ex-temp sensors, AFM etc etc which are going to inevitably be in stupidly diffucult to reach places...* ...decides to muck around with pinout stuff on a piggy back computer* never mind

I might be picking up a gtr rear cradle, susp, brakes, all of the above, really cheap too... I'll let you know how it goes... what do i need to know in order to convert it...I have a bunch of mechanic mates up here with all the tools and probably all the knowledge i need, but i would love to discuss it with someone first. Take full advantage of the SAU collective wisdom. I assume i will need: mod certs afterwards GTR rear end without HICAS for donor parts (which models are these - i assume it's the 34 only) will the GTR rear driveshaft fit? or should i use the Stagea one? I will PM Cruiseliner and SK

What I Hate About My Stagea
captinsane replied to 3intheBack's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
i have this dilema also -
stealth guage install in the glove box - check it about once a week to make sure there is no chance the MBC as unscrewed iteself a wee little bit (or use silicon on the top of the MBC screw to stop it) - no changes to factory look - all your other piggyback systems are going to go there anyway...If you are concerened for safety (aka fuield of view out of the direction of travel etc), whenever you have a passenger, ask them to monitor it for you while you give it a quick stab up the motorway, then your sweet - and your passenger has some free incar entertainment (a lot cheaper than either EBC's or DVD units :sorcerer: ) get a better AF/IT computer for the money you would spend on fancy stuff (Greddy E-manage ultimate is 600 bucks from NENGUN) or buy some fully sick cams or something! Profec E01 looks well sweet though - i have heard that relays will not record spike levels as accutely as a guage (though i could well be wrong here...berate me if i am) - but the thing i like is it plugs direct into the e manage ultimate which i will probably get later on my 5c

What I Hate About My Stagea
captinsane replied to 3intheBack's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
1. It's curb weight 2. fuel consumption 3. lack of towbar + cruise control and other aussie can't live withouts 4. you hav to nudge nudge - wink wink to get people looking...but that can be a positive also -
For what you want to do...get a manual boost controller and a guage... up to 100 bucks max i reckon...save yourself money and buy SK's sway bars or save up for a CGC highflow... or whatever is going to get you having more fun quicker... In the end of the day your MBC is NOT going to 'hurt' your car... ^^^^^^^ you two need to kiss and make up...like seriously... waits for post deletion

gREDDY eMANGAE uLTIMATE IS 600 FROM nENGUN, apparently about 750 landed... I have a mate who just installed it on his 34 GTT and it seems to have a very friendly user interface... I am seriously looking at this solutions as oposed to a conglometration of piggy backs or a hardwired PFC to suit an auto...
