  1. i bought a nismo cluster for my gtr and when i tried to match the K's to my original K's i damaged it when putting it back together are there people that fix these things? i couldnt find anything on the forum..

  8. After some research i believe my s3 r33 gtr is making less power than it should, 162 AWKW. Long story..Stock standard gtr, i removed the original exhaust and put a 3.5 stainless turbo back, everything was good...for a few hours. i put my foot down and i felt a hesitation in power, at that very moment i looked at the standard boost gauge, the boost was down and the engine immediately felt weaker. and still feels weaker. On a cold night the car some time gets very lazy, the boost on the standard gauge goes down and the car take ages to rev?? i have taken it to three different mechanics two of them gtr owners/tuners. There is a small hiss coming from under the plenum, we covered the area in water but it still didn’t go away. One mechanic said that it cause that much of a power loss?? Anyway, we checked the following Coils...Ok Volt sensors on the exhaust..Fine Air flow metres..Fine Turbo... working fine When on the dyno the boost level was fine?? (Even though my standard gauge is still down...how could my gauge fail at the same time i lost the power???) vacuum leaks... none Air/fuel...ok Looked inside the cat..Ok Compression...All 6 at 175 Removed the rubber hose and the spring is in the right place Did a smoke test..Ok Here i am few hundred dollars poorer, and still have the same problem?? Any input is greatly appreciated What else should i check?

  11. for my r33gtr i will have some spare cash for a week or so, so if you have any parts for gtr let me know i would prefer a second hand package i want turbos and the supporting mods pref sydney are. call or sms 0404 301 881
  12. I checked the coils in the rubber boots they are ok When I get a chance I will try Locate the hiss from under the plenum. If that doesn't work I will move to the next thing
  13. The cat is new, I also removed it to see If it's blocked and it wasn't. I disconnected the cat and drove around the block and nothing changed. Two work shops said a good 100cell 5" body cat is around $500, not the $300?
  14. Series three r33gtr 57k no mods part from turbo back with 100cell 5" body (surflow) cat. It's making a lousy 162awk. Can you figure the problem? My car seams to be loosing power some where. I had the turbos checked out and they are working fine but it seams like the boost isn't entering the motor for som reason. the standard boost tacho is reading less than normal. We plugged her up to the dyno and it said the boost was at 10 and 12psi but the standard gauge is reading less than that? Why? I compression tested the cooler/pipes, no problem there. If one of my plenum gaskets was leaking what symptoms will it have? There is a hiss coming from under the plenum, when I turn off the car the engine stops before the hiss stops?? a few mechanics had a quick look at it (they were busy), they sprayed carby cleaner all around that are but couldn't locate the hiss. Like I said it was coming from under the plenum.. On a cold night the car sometimes looses most of it's power, like it takes ages to reach redline. At the same time the boost reading on the standard tacho also goes right down? Is the boost leaking out around the plenum you think? The cat is fine, no turbo wheels in there. She is completely standard,except for turbo back exhaust (standard boost too)
  15. i want to know if my intercooler or pipes are leaking im will make my own tool (probably been done b4) this is how Rb26tt i will disconnect both ends, the one from the throttle body and the other from the turbo side, then i will block both ends off (ill find something at bunnings) then pump 30 psi or so into the cooler and piping. i will have a psi gauge on one side with the readings of pressure. if pressuer drops off then obviosly theres a leak. i will find the leak with some sort of soap spray what do you think? 30psi too much? im running standard boost.. i will post my findings with pictures
  16. There seams to be some sort of leak coming from under the throttle body I'm pretty confident with my with my tools so I'm going to try and fix it myself Any advice before I start? Bolt location? Remove the fuel rail? Is there a thread somwhere? I did a search and couldn't find anything
  17. threw her on the dyno today the power reading was a low 162AWkw. all standard except for front pipes hiflow cat and 3.5 cat back. and what ever boost increase the exhaust gives. i belive it should be around 170-180 at the wheels the tuner said the boost level was ok, then why is it making no power? i did a comprsion test and all cylinders were dead on 175 my tuner said it could be the plugs or coil packs, what symtons does a poor coil pack/plugs give? definately not 10 or 20 kw.. my boost reading on the standard tacho is still below standard, i dont belive its a faulty tacho for two reasons.. # the car is twelve years old and ive owened it for two mounths..that failure is qite a coincedence dont you think?? # the time i felt the car loose its power was the same time my boost needle was reading less boost.. qite a coincedence dont you think?? what else could be doing this to my beast??
  18. I had a smoke test done and we couldn't find a vacuum leak anywhere Could the computer be in some sort of safe mode? I did put injector cleaner in there, could that have been the problem? When I took the plugs out they were a little white. Did the injector clean lean it out and trigger safe Mode? It has a new tank of fuel in there now but the boost is still at 70% or so

  20. why would it need extra fuel? its all standard ecept for exhaust. no extra boost at all. or maybe a pound or two from the new exhaust? the car was runing fine for hours and then it just died ist boosting normaly just less..
  21. We found a unusual hiss it sounds like a vacuum leak coming from under the plenium Is there vacuum hoses on that area? Where exactly? I tried spraying carnie cleaner all over the plenium but the noise didn't go away? The sound is below the middle of the plenium (I think that's how u spell it) Anyone had this prob before?
  22. I groped the cat and found nothing inside One guy told me that if it was the turbo wheels that were damage It would be lagier but it's not lagier at all??
  23. The cat is brand new. There is a small spool hesitation when it comes on..
  24. I don't think it's the ceramic wheels, it's on standard boost Where do I find the vacuum hoses? How many are there?
