i have just realised that...i found it on some old gtr uk site... its so strange that i have actually received the baulk rings from nissan if they are discontinued. lol at least rb25 boxes can get rebuilt. maybe its the hub that is discontinued. Anyway i will tell them tomorrow...so its really they're mistake as they want to charge me for ordering the wrong parts!! thanks duncan for clearing it up aswell. -

the baulk ring inserts are also obviously different, they are a solid peice of machined metal like ur 1st 2nd synchro hub not thin sheet metal type like all rb25 boxes have and most rb26 boxes... -
hey guys im having issues finding 3rd 4th synchros for my gtr gearbox, it originally came out of a r32 gtr 93 model(not sure if original box), nissan cant get me the right sychro's. they think it maybe out of a 97 model r33 gtr. supposedly all trans upto that date run a different synchro(3rd/4thgear) hub including rb25 i have searched through google etc and all i can find is pics of a different synchro hub.not what i have. here is what i have. its the 3rd gear by that way

not sure if it may have anything to do with your problem but in regards to the SPOOL rods, i was shocked to find out that all the rods where uneven heights (centre to centre). When my engine builder dummy assembled the block he found that all the pistons where at different heights. he had to remachine the big ends so all good now. I thought maybe i got a bad batch of rods but my brother had EXACTLY the same problem. The material used is great but the build quality from experience is not. I wonder how many ppl have just bolted these rods in without checking piston heights??? Just my 2 cent, like i said not sure if it has anything to do with your issue but worth checking if you havent already.

Best Looking Wheels On An R33 Gtst
drf76 replied to Nick033's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
thats ur opinion, the car will prob never see more than 235's on these rim for drifting, which is what the car is built for..what part of it makes it impractical??? if i was track racing id have different size rims and tyres...whats the problem, anyway the car looks great and the rim/tyres fill out the guards perfectly, like i said there's a bit more camber in the back so the rim just barely sticks out compared to the pic..and there is not rubbing on the front either -

ive lowered a little more so its a bit more tucked in but still sticks out a perfect amount... -

i managed to fit the lenso d1r 17x10+15 front and rear, rear needed flaring heaps but the fronts are perfect with 235's and bout 2.6 degrees camber. -
Hey any one got a spare rb26 crank bolt i can buy of them need one yesterday, nissan got them but its 2 weeks wait and i need one yesterday!!! thanks lucas

Need More Steering Angle
drf76 replied to 33drifta's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
im in the middle of doing the same mod to mine, ive started with with just the tie rod spacers, surprised how much ive gained, i had to grind my steering stops heaps to maximise the lock, it comes close to overcentreing..so im thinking of cutting down my steering knuckles/rewelding the pickup point and maybe repositioning the rack forwards. -
unless ur standard diff has been shimmed it shouldnt be tight at all, or maybe its just a very good viscous lsd which is rare lol

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
drf76 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
id 100% agree with that as it would primarly be used a windage port on the rhs, and the only thing that puzzles me is that the your test show oil coming up, even though nissan used it as a factory drain for the turbo...weird, maybe the position of that port is not perfect but with turbo connected there must of been enough flow of oil to overcome the very slight pressure, at the end of tha day it is a return, otherwise the turbo wouldnt be able to return any oil which we all know would be impossible...soo all in all rbs need a restriction to the head, good returns and good venting... dg..have u tried just venting the the crankcase as a sole mod or is the restrictor definetly needed aswell, ive been always wondering.. -
Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
drf76 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
this picture pretty much explains it all, its a vent, how can oil drain back through there when one its tiny and two how i can oil flow from the rear of the head to the front of the sump under acceleration (drag) there isnt that much pressure of blow by in the head to be able to push the oil forward to the engine sump under accelaration anyway..i bet that all the ppl who do have this mod to the back of the head just do a test and vent it to a catch tank, they wouldnt have any more blow by issues compared to having it connected to the head, physics does lie simple...i dont understand the debate... both parties are essentially doing the same mod, adding a vent just putting it in a different place lol. -
if u have never changed it..just do it. simple things sometimes fix everything. pressure might be dropping of under boost. how did you check fuel pressure? mighty vac on the fuel pressure reg to test the pump over various pressures, does it cough/splutter? does it matter if you at full throttle can you get over 4500 with half throttle? sorry for all the ? just want to help. lucas
